I go here at least once a year. One of the better times to go is during Oktoberfest, basically a 1.5 month drinking party.
I have been to Germany several times, this is a close resemblance.

I read that some people of color said this place was racist. I want to visit but very apprehensive....please share your experiences

I didn’t have any issues during my visit. The hotel I stayed at had a Black desk clerk who was nice, kind, and helpful. When I asked him about the town, he said it was a decent place. I did have a bad meal at one restaurant-the food was terrible, and the waitress was slow-but the atmosphere at the bar was great. I saw some white guys meeting up with their Black friends for drinks and having a good time. Personally, I didn’t have a bad experience; the people were friendly. But that doesn’t mean those issues don’t exist there.
