Seriously, why are people especially those in privileged or wealthy position even allowed to have access to pardons? I can get if for convicts in death row or life sentences but requesting a pardon just because you are close to someone powerful in the food chain should never be a thing in any governing body.
It should AT LEAST be tried.

Dumbness can still do real damage. Hitler was dumb, bad at everything except entertaining and riling up crowds. (Sound like anyone we know?) Germany didn't have to lose that war. Hitler lost that war by thinking he knew "better than the generals," to appropriate a Trumpian phrase. Of course, a normal leader would never have started the war. He would have worked to isolate France and the UK from the US government, which would have been a much more important ally at that point in terms of restoring German prosperity and prestige.

Ocasio-Cortez is an International level quality Representative. One of very few in the U.S. She has so much more credibility, honesty, a solid work ethic and such a passion for serving her Constituants that she shames the stale, old and mouldy Congress members who are all owned by Corporate Interests and Lobby groups. Bravo for her.
As an Aussie who watches US politics, there are a stack of congress people I hear about because of scandal, abusive behaviours, and outright looniness. There are only a handful I hear about for their sense, compassion, and actually doing their jobs. AOC is one of the latter.

As a Honduran that keeps up with US politics because they one way or another affect my country, AOC is one of the US politicians that I admire the most. I feel that if she ever runs for president and wins, she'll do a great job. As an outsider, I feel that her heart is in the right place.

We're here because of happenings on a global scale..No one person can solve this. In fact, the POTUS has very little control over the economy. it's just going to take time for the supply chain to recover, and the growth rate to stabilize. And the inflation comes when an economy goes from a negative 3.4% growth rate to positive 5% in a one year period. An overheated economy is driving inflation worldwide, it's not just us.
(And personally, I'd like to see a Raskin/Porter ticket..It's a better sell to moderate Democrats, IMHO)

Would love to see Congress pass a Bound In True Congressional Honesty act for their members. Frequent violations (blatant lies) would get stamped with the acronym and ultimately would have them expelled.
Those who want or asked for pardons should be sent to be in trial for treason, not just expelled. To only expel is like a slap on the wrist, send them to prison where they rightfully deserve to be.

AOC is the future of this country!! We need more AOCs in Congress so that they can create meaningful change and improve not only this country, but other countries as well all around the world! Bernie Sanders is another powerhouse. I love that man, but he's getting up there in age. I wish he were 30 years younger. I know I have seen actual cost estimates at one time for Universsal Healthcare, and with the savings in labor alone in processing all the various different kinds of insurances, it already becomes cheaper. We have a very top-heavy system here in the US. With Universal Healthcare, there's only one system, so you don't need the staff that we're currently paying now. BTW, I didn't mean to imply that Denmark was socialist. I was pointing out that Americans that are more conservative see anything like Universal Helathcare as socialism. Yes, Bernie does belong to a group referred to as a Democratic Socialist group. I don't think it's a legit party here though. It's just some folks. like myself, who think we should have rights to basic things like Healthcare. Capitalism would still thrive under Bernie's plans. He would tax the rich heavily as they were back in the 1950 and 1960s. Those taxed and closing all the tax loopholes would fund the entire thing. We have a lot of alcoholics here too. We also have Heroin addicts, Meth addicts, etc. It doesn't matter what sort of government you have, there are always going to be people who choose to use and abuse drugs and alcohol.
