さすがにこの時代になるとマイクの数が増えてるね。
ヴォーカル用は人数分、ギター用に音響特性の違うマイクが用意され、裏方のミキサー専業の人が音のバランスを最適に制御する。
デビュー当時は動画は無く、レコード盤の音だけで聞いていたが、こうして古いライブ動画も見られると、とんでもない工夫をして当時は演奏していたことがわかる。
妙にギターを持ち上げての演奏。 ２本しかないマイクにギターを近づけてヴォーカルとの音量を調整している。 また、３人の配置が曲によって入れ替わるのもヴォーカルの異なるパート間の音量バランスを調整していたのでしょう。
PPMはハーモニーが美しい。 それを観客の耳にまで届けるには工夫が必要になる。 昔と今のやり方は機器の進化で違っているけど、総合的な音作りはデリケートなバランスが必要なことはわかる。 彼らは歌手であり演奏者であり指揮者でもあった。
So true, most people don't realize how difficult and intricate this is to accomplish. If you are a singer you know the complications of having your ow monitor and hearing yourself in the mix. Some like In Ears some don't. PPMA has not moved to In Ears yet.

どこかの政党のように、ヒステリックに反戦を叫ばれても、心には染み込まなかった。
この歌がヒットしたアメリカでも数多くの戦争を経験することになる。
しかし、この歌を歌いつないでいかなければ、もっとひどい状況になっていったのかもしれない。
戦争は人間の性なのだろうか。
そして、このような歌が生まれることも。
平和憲法があれば平和になるわけではない。
今の状況は、戦後７０年の中で最悪の事態なのに、第９条という翼のもがれた飛行機の中で、お題目のように平和憲法があればミサイルは落ちてこないと震えながら唱えている。
国民の命よりも、政党の利益しか考えていない政党を選んでしまった自分たちの責任であるのだろう。
だれかの命が失われて初めて、自分の国を憲法を考えるのだろう。
この歌を聴く度にそんなことを考えてしまう。
どこの政党のお題目よりも心に響く。私も小田さんとjujuの歌を聞いてなぜが泣いてしまった。
ここにきて、涙が流れたわけがようやくわかった。
戦争が悲惨なのではない。
そこまでなる前までなにもしなかったことだ。
かき消されそうになった声を聞くことができなかった自分。
自分の問題として突き付けなかった。
つまらない評論家なんをテレビに出演させしてづけていている、そのテレビを見ている自分が嫌になる。
時代錯誤に陥った狂った国が周りにあるときれい事では済まされないことはわかるが、「戦争」の空気に、その感覚に鋭敏なものだけが日本にいて欲しい。
鈍感な右翼とヒステリックな左翼、その日本に生まれ暮らしていかなければならない子どもたちに、残していかなかねならない感覚を研ぎすます術を伝えていくことが急務なのだろう。
そんなことが、頭に浮かんでくる。

曲の素晴らしさにうたれて、歌詞を必至で覚えたのですが、意味を知ると、泣けてきますね。久しぶりに聞きましたｐｐｍの意味も、コメントで知りました!
私も歌詞を一生懸命覚えました。今でもソラで歌えます。この曲本当にいいですね。あと、45年ほどまえに、所ジョージがラジオでこの曲をかけ、いい曲だと言っていたのを覚えています。
