Creators light is definitely one of the few safe investment gems. It consistently sells for somewhat close to its entire value whilst socketed into arcanas. Most other gems struggle to stay valuable once placed. The list is very short but is mostly creators light, rubiline is the main one, plushy shag and cursed black.
Yeah these prices aren’t very reflective of their actual value for TB arcana. Any gem that looks good probably exists on the steam market already socketed into an Arcana and those prices are hard to track. So this made the most sense.

You can extract the gem, but the gem will have the restrictions that of the arcana. Unmarketable and untradable. So if you take a candyworks Explosive burst gem from techies, and place it into a market bought TB arcana - the TB arcana will be untradable and unmarketable unless you overwrite the gem. If you place a market bought gem into a candyworks arcana, the gem will be still marketable if you extract it by destroying the arcana. So the only thing that makes sense if if you get a TB arcana or Techies from candyworks and want to try a cheap gem in it. Item restrictions will follow the gem.

Congrats! :) You'd have to buy the gem on the market, they drop from unusual couriers which are unboxed in old(expensive) treasures. But let me explain, your arcana is Trade/Market locked forever because of candyworks. When you buy a market gem and place it in the Arcana, you still cannot sell or trade the arcana, and the only way to get the gem back is to destroy the arcana item. But you'll get the gem back and the gem will be tradable and marketable. So if it's a cheap gem close to the arcana cost, it might make sense to just look for an arcana with a different color on the market. I'm using a combination of the Custom Game Development Kit, Source Film Maker and the Unpacked Dota VPK. There's probably an easy way to just spawn unlimited heros, but I'm focused on the cosmetics so I'm not sure. It's taken me months to get this to a point where I can make these videos.

Every gem is just 256,256,256 Red Green Blue values, creators light is max values 256,256,256 making it extremely bright, cursed black is 6,6,6 so it’s super dim and in many cases on couriers invisible.

The color of your arcana is dictated by the Prismatic Gem socketed in the item. These gems are originally from unboxing unusual couriers in old dota chests. You can buy the color gems on the market.

Got explosive burst as it's 1:1 with the gold. Best 12 bucks I spent on a gem.
Very close, Midas Gold has a total brightness of 478 vs 430 explosive burst. The difference is mostly made up from green hue.
Can you still extract the gems from Candyshop arcanas?
You can extract the gem, but the gem will have the restrictions that of the arcana. Unmarketable and untradable.

Extracting Prismatic gems destroys the item they're contained in - you can replace a gem with another, but it destroys the original gem.

No, Wearable unusuals have effects that are locked to the item.
