I remember years ago when he got divorced he was on the Tom Joyner morning show. They asked him about the divorce. He said….”I’m just too selfish to be married”. From that day forward I completely stopped listening to his music. I saw in that moment that he was a joke and using black women. I knew then that he didn’t respect his fans.
I don’t know if this was the same interview but I remember an interview after his divorce where he tells the story of one of his young sons asking him about giving their mother a gift for Mother’s Day or her birthday. Brian arrogantly told the interviewer that he told his son that he was not thinking of giving her anything. He sounded very defensive. While I understand it is totally an individual choice in situations of divorce, it was the way he minimized the mother of his children to his own son at such a young age. For those who say it’s about his children’s behavior, Brian planted this seed in his children years ago.

Brian took care of his obligations financially to his children well past the age of 18! This all started when his children were cut off of his payroll and told them to get jobs! Also his 2 adult sons can sing so maybe they can use their talents to get a record contract.

His younger daughter is by a white woman who maybe in her teens now and the 4 older ones were protective towards he when he started attacking them over a year or more ago and the clapped back at him. The older daughter he tried to slut shame ,who was around 20 or younger ,by talking about her sexual history. He claimed she was sleeping with a older cousin,many with sense called him out for doing this ,asking do you not get she was groomed,what did you as a father do to help her ,get this put away. She said he lied which led to more attacks on her and her mother and she sued him ,they settled out of court and yes her siblings ,brother defended her as well as his ex wife ,on how he treated her. Him doing all this was because she posted what it was like to not grow up with a father,the pain in this ,blaming herself as she was a child he had outside his first marriage ,do most of her life he did not exist in it. She never used ,said father’s name but Brian responded,outed himself like the hit dog he is ,attacking her,posting a few pictures old of her around him . Her brothers,she called her father figured ,his ex wife defending her caused more attacks in him,him,bullying them ,her mother noting she was a one night stand which was not ,I feel true. Her and his first wife got in an altercation at some event but in later years now realizing they both have a common enemy attacking them and their kids they united or found common ground regarding Brian.

Actually, we heard Brian McKnight talking about his family. These words came from HIS mouth. I watched him say it. Sure, he can put his kids out, pay their rent or not pay it...BUT he need not disparage his children before millions and curse their lives. He has abdicated being a father to some of his children, the ones born from his blood. You can't harm close relationships like this and walk away from it unscathed. Quite frankly, his words are the ultimate betrayal. Especially those comments he made about his daughter sleeping with her cousin.
