Words cant explain how excited i am for this.. I picked up running this year at 30 years old and it truly is an amazing thing to do.. i love this man so much seriously.. and he inspires me to keep pushing myself. I cleared my schedule on Saturday so i can watch. Much from a South African in Thailand..
Welcome to the club my man! You'll realize very soon that running becomes a way of life, not just a hobby. Eliud is going to make history in the next few days... his mindset and mentality are the strongest I've ever seen
@Érik that's true, as much as it is an inconvenience for the viewers, they absolutely need to make sure that conditions are optimal for Eliud to perform at his best... every second counts for this one.
But has he done Comrades? Haha! But full respect to Eliud and the team ! Also very excited for this! Much from a South African in South Africa..
@@JimboFarns much respect indeed. You a south african? Do you like cricket? I love the SA team, especially Dale Steyn
Great comment Jody, absolutely agree with you 100% He inspires all of us to challenge ourselves through running (or for some, any other sport that they love!)
Who is here after he made it?
Me
Good tutorial I think I’ll try this tmr
TreeTrunk Games BEST COMMENT 😂😂😂
Do you even know how hard this would actually be ? You would need many of training not just one day!
He has to maintain 21 kmph that is a madness, maintaining that speed for a full marathon is insane...🤯
I just did 20km/h on the treadmill a few moments ago. And it's quite insane. It's almost like a sprint for me. Eliud is just...
Abdoulie JAITEH maintaining that speed for 5 min is insane bro ;)
For your information, He managed on Vienna's Marathon with a time of 1:59:40.2!!!
Ribby ketchell: there is absolutely nobody else that can break 2hrs
Bekele: am i a joke to u
lmao bekele is not up to that task.If so he would have been involved in breaking 2
Kipchoge says: NO HUMAN is limited. He would never say something like that. I just assume it was recorded before Berlin Marathon and said for PR purposes.
Bekele has proven to be a good distance runner, he lacks top end consistency
francis njenga „Good distance runner“ is not how I would describe someone holding the world record over 5k and 10k.
francis njenga yea not like he went unbeaten for 8 years and beat Kipchoge at the Olympics and the Worlds every single time on 5000m and 10,000m. Kipchoge is not even in the ball park. Kipchoge will not beat Bekele over 42.195km, mark my words.
“Absolutely no other man in the world who could do this”
What about bekele?
Evan hartmann my guess is this was filmed a little before bekele ran
He possibly could, his biggest challenge is being consistent & injury free. Kipchoge has been amazingly consistent at an extremely high level so he was the obvious choice. No disrespect to Bekele who is also amazing!
On top of what scott wills said, kipcboge ran 2:01 with much more ease than bekele. Kipchoge keeps running after the tape while bekele is completely taxed by the finish.
It would be more interesting if they had Kipchoge and Bekele for the event. They are both legends in marathon running.
Ceburik 2:41 ???
Am a Kenyan and proud to see my fellow Citizen do it....159CHALLENGE
Love y’all ❤️just ran 9 miles 😂
I truly believe Eliud will do this
Many years ago, when i was 34, i was able to run a measured mile in around 4min 38sec in some comfort, and it felt so fast, that your leg speed felt that your feet were not touching the ground.
I am now 57, and can still remember how fast it felt.
For an athlete to be able to run a further 25.2miles at the same pace, is incredible.
You can watch the elite runners running along at 4-40 per mile, but until you can run a mile at the same pace, you cannot comprehend how fast their running.
I can imagine how fast it is. I once ran a 6 minute mile and felt very fast. Haha
These guys are on a totally different level though, so I don't think its fair to compare like that. Its like if someone who doesn't run at all is thinking to themselves that a 20 minute 3 mile seems impossible, which it might be for them...but its very doable for others.
Preparing for my first ever marathon at the moment, and Eliud is a huge inspiration to me! I have no doubt he can break the two hour mark💪🏃♂️🙏
Here after he broke 2 so proud of him!
"There is absolutely nobody else that has a chance of breaking 2hrs in a marathon..." @0:05. This statement contradicts the - No Human is Limited philosophy.
did Kipchoge mean a human being can ran a full marathon in 5 minutes because no human is limited?
@@leonardtoo985 "No human is limited" is a philosophical phrase. Let's not water it down with simplistic reasoning. Kichoge is now in the league of great philosophers like Plato and Socrates.
Enforcer every human is limited, having a body alreaddy limits you to obey the laws of physics, its just propaganda.
he did it!!!! congrats no human is limited
super stoked!!! can’t wait..🤯
He did it!!
absolutely perfect
no more words l can say
It's going to be the AMAZING Event!!! I’m excited to watch it.
Bekele can do this. He is equally talented.
Age matters..
@@SATOYRIOS kipchoge is 40 years old
Legendary Justin A. lmao he's 34
No because his performance is very up and down. He is not as stable in performance as Kipchoge
@@justina9914 only 2 years older ,my mistake.
Weather is looking good in Vienna for this! Im pretty sure he can break sub 2 and also believe he wont be the last, everyone is inching closer. Good luck Eliud!
Go Eulid
This man needs a shoe deal an NBA player, NFL quarter back, really great football player treatment after this divine feat.
HE DID IT!!!
This event is going to be amazing, I’m kinda sad I can’t watch it live as I will be on a plane 😕
WTF!!! 21km/hr running pace. I struggle to hold that on a bike. Amazing!!
THE GOAT
He did it❤️🔥
BEKELE: I think they underestimate what I can do
KIPCHOGE:I will show that no human is limited.
MO Farah left the chat.. 😂
Can't hardly wait for the record breaking, in eliud i believe
Breaking the 2h marathon = more like breaking the human limits even further
Go on Eliud. Show what mankind is capable of!
HE JUST DID IT!!!!!!!!!
Go Champ. #nohumanislimited.
Which shoe they are wearing? I like this green nike runners
We’ve done it.
Who’s here after he broke 2 hours marathon time
He will succeed🌠🌠👌🏽👌🏽
No easy feat but it can be done. Mental strength and physical strength
I'll be watching
ya’ll need to stop bringing up BEKELE cause right now, only Eliud is the best person prepared for this and he will always be the best marathon runner and human being ever.
Yeah you're right he is trash! He got like a 2:01:40 marathon. Slow as f*ck!
proud to be Kenyan
When and what time is the race ?
Instructions unclear I accidentally broke the light barrier
This is exciting! cant wait to tune in. GO Eliud!!
hey thank you for this tutorial, i´ve just passed the marathon in 1:58h
Step 1.
Become Eliud
People bringing up "what about Bekele" are correct - but these clips were recorded before Bekele dropped 2:01:41. If he instead dropped 2:04+ or another DNF, no one would be bringing him up. But given his performance, he rightfully put himself into this conversation. Only KIPCHOGE & BEKELE are capable. I'm really hoping to see them go head-2-head in a year or so :D
Bekele has been injured nearly ever since and his 26:17 for 10000m still stands and that's his full potential.. ..I'm glad seeing him back in prime form at age of 37. Greatest 10000m runner in history truly has ability to clock amazing 42k, but breaking2 is Kipchoge's dream and all wind blocking and assistance doesn't make it any greater than 2.01:39 or 2.01:41 in major marathon.
I am a skeptic but I’d put money on Bekele not being able to do it. If Bekele was consistent, I could but he has been terribly on and off.
HE DID IT
when is he going to try it ?
I really like hearing the Dutch guy say kilometer.
People saying Bekele can do this - maybe he can, the point is at the time this was recorded and at the moment, bekele can not do this, even if he wanted to, he simply has not trained for this and he just completed the berlin marathon so he will probably be recovering for at least 4 weeks. At the moment, the only person that can do this is Eliud but hopefully we see much more people that are capable in the future!
Best athlete in human history, come on mate you can do it
🤡🤡🤡 ok... Kenenisa has better achievements that say otherwise
Kipchoge is far superior
@@benjanson7484 kipchoge has 1 Olympic gold medal and 1 world record while kenenisa has multiple Olympic medals and multiple world records.
How long was the marathon
How to break 2 hour marathon: Downhill course.
Nice bideo
Kenenisa!!!
Can you talk about what the psychologists on the team do? Seems like Eliud doesn't need any help in that department... He is teaching the rest of us how to think for success!
Better not put too mch pressure n media attention..towards him..Let Him Concentrate!!💪💪
who is here after he done it?
I here someone somewhere mentioning Bekele,,,
Well lads? We did it!
kenensa is the great runner all the time 2:41....others must be control what they take
They never post the date of when this is taking place!
swflracing It’s scheduled for October 12th, but they have an 8 day window in case of rain
the preparation for this attempt is perfect, but if he has a bad day??
shit happens
He has no bad days
He is god
Good luck to the G.O.A.T.
I have question It's official race or unofficial because last time he run breaking 2 hour 2017 Italy monza this is unofficial race
Rahul Das oo07 unofficial
It would be kinda funny if he did it in 1 hour 58 minutes as they named it the 1.59 challenge
If he does go under 2hrs will it still count as an official record?
No
Robby Ketchell: 0:09
Kenenisa Bekele: hold my beer.
it clashes with parkrun!!
Bekele should race with him. They will push each other to victory
Bekele is like Messi and Kipchoge Ronaldo, guess the result.
1 58 42
Eliud is no longer racing against men he is racing against TIME
james kanyi watch bekele’s WR its the same
@@phildurre9492 Eliud is clearly better. He's setting records for humanity as Bekele chases his shadow 😂😂

@@johnmohblaxta he is not

Good luck Eliud ,now is your time ...
I assume the cars are electric? I've had to run behind gas cars, and it's really unpleasant to breathe in, even if the car is very environmentally friendly; there is always a little exhaust.
esotericpig iirc they are using a tesla
great vid! approved! 💯🔑 stop by sometime!
Back bekele
Best Marathon runner in history I say 1:58
Step One: Be Eluid Kipchoge
Instructions not clear burned my house down
Bekele????
That Valentijn Trouw dude annoys me so much
1:59:40.2
Run fast, that’s how. And btw guys, if you wanna get a pr (doesn’t matter what distance), then I have the secret to getting it.
What you wanna do is...
Run faster 🤯
quality of the air is good? its a city....
Valentijn stop met Engels praten
2:50 per Kilometer. GOOD GOD
TWay24 IronLife yeah unless you are a track and field athlete, you probably do not know a single person who can run just 1km in that pace lol....
No one else.... bekele
Eliud is always relaxed while running. Even when he was breaking world record, he could have clocked better time but he tactically slowed. He is going to break it at least 4 more times. Those who are comparing him with Bekele they are jokers.
Chasing an arbitrary goal in artificial conditions 🤔 I'd much rather see Kipchoge and Bekele go at it in an official race.
There will be nothing artificial about him running 26.2 miles. Not like he’ll be going downhill or will have a massive tailwind. Yes it’s the perfect storm, and not legal record conditions, but when it’s all said and done he still will have to put in the effort.
Who’s here after he broke the 2hr mark
Everybody seems to forget that Bekele ran the Berlin marathon just 2 seconds outside of Kipchoge's world record. Not just that, but he came back from being a minute behind said world record halfway down the race.
Herbert stop bringing up bekele. yes, he did an amazing job on the berlin marathon but right now, eliud is the best prepared person to break this 2 hour barrier. Bekele looked super dead after the race. compare to eliud when crossed the finish line at berlin. He was smiling and already cheering his fans on.
Kipchoge ran alone and negative split the race
Forgetting that? Kipchoge couldve easily ran sub 2:01 that marathon
Actually, that's not true. Both ran 1:01:05 for the first half, and 1:00:36 (ish) for the second half. Their splits are no more than 10 seconds apart for any point in the race.
MaximillianMus ! I think Bekele was just disheartened that he missed the world record. And he has never been one to celebrate extrovertly. If you watch any of his world championship or Olympic wins, he doesn’t really celebrate that much, maybe a few smiles. He was only really happy when breaking the 5k and 10k world records. I think all he wanted was the world record, so running 2 seconds outside it was a bittersweet moment, and that affected his body language.
EASILY
with so many controlled aspects might aswell just do it in a Treadmill in controlled enviroment...
Biomechanics on a treadmill are totally different.
