I’ve never seen a controller break apart that badly! Good job restoring that. So glad folks are out there making great replacements.
My controller is the JDM style which is slightly different and probably much harder to get a repair for. I hope it lasts!
Looks like a very fiddly job but it turned out great, very cool to see that there are people out there providing us with replacement parts for our old cars 👍🏻
The climate controller looks incredible. Nice job.
Love your videos. Just starting tearing my crx down to finally rebuild it. I'll definitely be using a lot of your methods to get this thing restored. Thanks man! Keep it up!
Good luck with yours!
Great to see an update on your build - Merry Christmas Seth all the best for the new year mate.
Thanks, you too!
so thankful we don't have that with hatches. Glad there's a ton of resources for repairs to keep these climate controls going in the future.
Extra satisfying vid. Great stuff Seth
Thanks 👍
Very satisfying video to watch for sure. The new housing looks SO good. I may do this to mine just to make it look nicer. Lol.
Gotta get the car running first though. 😊
Amazing work
Hi Seth,
Glad to see you're back in action.
I see that you are also starting to repair CRX subassemblies such as the starter, the distributor, or even the heating core.
This is a good thing, because these little pieces of equipment are becoming rare and worth saving.
Excellent idea, using a heat gun. 😃
On the other hand, you don't specify how you re-glue the labels: double-sided tape or special glue ?
At last, don't forget that I'm still waiting for my "CRXSeth" t-shirt...and Christmas is coming ! 😇
Thank you! I no longer have any of the CRXSeth clothing available. Maybe if I can get enough interest, I can make another batch of a new design in 2024. I glued them on using 3M Super 77 spray adhesive.
Great job!
Thanks!
eres un crackk!!!!! estabas desaparecidoooo saludos desde chile
🔥🔥🔥🔥
We applicate the links!
someday I'm going to build a car as clean as this.i don't care if it's slow as long it's done it a right way ..as always good video
I just replaced the climate controls in my CRX with the controls out of a CB7 Accord. My original climate controls fell apart while just existing in the car. Would love to see you do a video on the CB7 climate conversion!
Great result on that. Looks OEM. Even has the correct texture on the face. If ever mine breaks I’ll be buying one of these.
What causes the original Honda unit to break? Is it an impact, heat or something else?
Age. The plastic just isn’t the right type to hold up for 25+ years.
スゲ〜さすが👍
where did you buy the new panel from?
Link is in the video description.
Hei CRXseth, at 12:34 with the thumb of your right hand you touch a LED, the hot/cold selector LED... I was wondering why so many people complain that that LED doesn't illuminate the selection lever or the red blue zone? I also find myself in the situation where the LED works but when it's dark I don't see any light from there, while the rest of the control unit is well lit...
one thing that doesn't have much to do with the video, would it be possible to install automatic climate control if manual control is fitted as standard? what should we do with those 2 cables? this is because on the automatic climate control the temperature selection seems to me to be via an electronic knob (I repeat, it seems to me) and not via cables as in the manual climate control
thanks a lot, great video, I've been waiting for this for a long time🤣😅
Before I install this in the car, I will probably double check all the function of the LEDs and bulbs. I didn’t do that in this video. I’m not familiar with the complaints of that red/blue zone LED issue. I’ll have to look into that. I’ve read where you need all the control components of the auto climate control to use it, it’s not just a one for one swap. Those mixing cables will probably connected to an electronic motor to make the adjustments automatically.
@@crxseth oh understood, very clear as always... now I'm just waiting to understand the problem of the LED not illuminating the blue/red area, thanks so much for the info😁
What is the price on unit? Website super weird with 119,90$ coma instead of period?
Lol
most likely because the seller is from Poland, he says in the video
They use commas instead of periods so it’s around $120.
Awesome! Game changer, so nice
Flush cutters might be a faster way to cut those.
✌🏻🇳🇱
how much had you put your money into this awesome car,,?
I haven’t kept track.
