Listening to the feedback from the fans and this video couldn’t be more accurate. What is going on in hip-hop man you guys let me know what you guys think down below let’s go.
I mean, I'm sure that like everything else in this life, it's a complicated subject. However, I'm starting to think that Rap and Hip Hop in general got too big, and some of it's core principles got diluted in the process.
So you still have a lot of fans that think:
You can use ghost writers, but you can't claim you are the best rapper if you do so.
You can use ghost writers, but not in a battle.
That Rap is one of the competitive music genres.
So you can claim you are better han everyone else (which rappers do), and that you are the GOAT and that the throne is yours, but you have to defend that claim from other rappers that are going to dissagree and try to prove that wrong on wax.
That lyrical skill matters.
That wordplay matters.
That lyrical content matters.
And then, you have a huge portion of "Rap fans" (and I only use quotes, because I'm still thinking if they can claim that title) that just think those things don't matter.
Drake uses ghostwriters? It's ok, he can still be the GOAT.
J Cole backed down when Kendrick confronted his claims (and he has been claiming shit for a while now, not only on the 7 minute drill diss)? It's ok, he can still be the GOAT.
Benzino used a ghostwriter for a diss? Oh, that's ok. He still went in on Eminem, that shit went hard.
Most K-pop "rappers" don't write their lyrics, don't choose their flow, don't even choose the topic they will address, the lyrics they will rap, or when they are going to drop a song or perform (the label does all that for them)? It's ok, they can still be considered elite rappers.
And the thing is, that this latter group is now probably a bigger percentage of people than the first group when it comes to consuming music.
And so, we get dissonance when stuff like this happens. At least those are my initial thoughts.
Thank you for keeping it real. I can't take anymore J Cole fans saying he apologized because he killed Kendrick so easily. The cope is real.

If you and me are competitve racers, and we tell the public for a decade "I'm the best. I'm the fastest. I'm the GOAT of this generation of runners." Than when we have that moment to race and compeite against one another, and you abandon the race before even giving it a chance- because you don't like how compeitition is negatively effecting people- don't you come out claiming the world is bad. Cole fans didn't hype up Cole- Cole hyped up cole. Than he just gave up on his career, all the hard work he's done for years, and the fans who put em on the pedestal. Beef isn't actually real, it's to test who'se the greatest like he'd been parading in all his songs. Go listen to First Person Shooter and tell me I'm wrong.
