As a retired semi-professional lawn care professional.. I recommend starting your stripes from the middle of the area you're mowing, then work towards one side from there, then do the other half. Try and get fancy with some diagonal stripes.

In my younger years I worked for a local lawn care company. We used the string trimmer first, going around all the objects and flower beds leaving enough room for the mower to not risk hitting anything. Then use the mowers. While the mower was doing its thing, get the edgers out and start cleaning up stuff. If it was one of those more fancy looking yards, use the mower with the clippings bin attached. I think I'm remembering the steps mostly right.
Oh yeah, pay attention to which way your trimmer is spinning. It sucks to shoot a tiny rock toward the old lady's glass storm door.

You should use the trimmer BEFORE the mower, especially when the grass is this tall. Why? Because the trimmer will throw bits of grass and other stuff everywhere, which the mower will pick up for you. If you mow before trimming, then you'll need to clean it up manually with a rake, which is a PITA and takes a lot of time.
But The mower he has doesn’t pick up grass…
@@TheShadowXI It doesn't COLLECT the grass, but it will pick it up and cut it into tiny bits (mulch) instead of leaving 20-cm-long pieces all over the lawn.
I work lawncare irl in the summer and snow removal in the winter. This. This is the point my boss has hammered home since the beginning into us. In this line of work, time is money. We gotta save every little bit of time we can.

Ugh no, why? I used to fight with my Uncle when i was younger because he demanded i weed wack first. This made 0 sense to me and took significantly more time. You end up weedwacking things you don't need to because mower can get to it, and if it's really long grass your always wading through tall grass to trim first. When i would use mower first, it was significantly more efficient, and our lawn wasn't fancy enough to notice any difference in where the little bits of grass was thrown. It was farm way out in middle of nowhere with crap ass grass anyway. Only way i can see your argument making sense is if I was cutting some rich persons lawn that is perfectly manicured and cares about how the clippings are distributed.
i just imagine in the future, an update will say "Added Ray Of Doom"

4:48 Reason why you have to regularly mow a pasture: the horse can overeat and get sick or overweight I think. Also once when I was mowing I forgot to reverse the blades when backing up and the mower backfired. We have a John Deere S160

Never in my life I thought Id be mowing virtual lawns for fun. But here I am. This game is for the strangest reason addicting and fun as hell.
I can't believe this exists. When I was a kid, I dreaded mowing the lawn as one of my chores.
I have never heard of it being called a Strimmer (I googled it String trimmer, makes sense). Where I live in Australia it's called a Whipper Snipper or Weed Whacker and sometimes Brush Cutter especially if you put the cutting disc attachment on for cutting thick grass/brush, saplings.
I like whipper snipper, sounds non threatening.

Here in Switzerland you can call them "Fadenmäher". That should translate to string mower. Another term would me "Motorsense" which should translate to motor scythe.

edges first then mow so the mower picks up the edging mess, plus then you dont have to mow so close to objects and can easily mow around them.
I like that the crowd chanting in your head KEEPS you from going crazy!
Remember you can press the control sticks to show the uncut patches of grass
They'd mow it for a showing, you usually see them do a circle pattern around the track to show where the horses are to run if it's a grass track as well as the middle to keep it prim, and if it's a dirt track, they'll still keep it cut as most of the time you will be feeding racing horses with your own fodder, or you'll get fodder from the track, you want the horse eating the best type of energy before and after a race to keep them in tip top shape. It very much depends on the track, but most of the time you won't be doing stripes as such, you will be forcing wheel lines to mark out clear lines while keeping the grass uniform, some just want it cut to look uniform for ascetic reasons. If anyone cares.

Over the past year I've become hooked on games like this.
House Builder, House Flipper, Powerwash Simulator, America Truck Simulator, Auto Mechanic Simulator and a bunch of other ones
As a lawn maintenance professional I have noticed you are discharging the cut material towards objects. Most mowers I have seen have the discharge chute to the right of the operator. In my professional opinion it is more beneficial to aim the cut material AWAY from flower beds, driveways, walkways, buildings, trees, etc. Love the series keep it up.
He’s using a mulching mower, so it isn’t ejecting grass except when overloaded.

8:52 haha you just found that cheat video game designers do to ensure your gun or in this case weed wacker doesn't clip through walls/objects. The weed wacker is actually rendered separately from the game on top, so that you can't ever clip the weedwacker through walls and while normally this looks ok, you obviously noticed when you went over the tree limbs, haha :)
Today I learned that "Strimmer" is a portmanteau. I've always just known them by that name.
I just learned a portmanteau is a blend of words in which parts of multiple words are combined into a new word, so technically you are correct, but also very confused lol.

I've worked for many landscaping companies and they had all types of strimmers and I never saw any battery operated models that could handle the projects we did
Have you used the Milwaukee ones? I have a 100ft by 20ft patch I let grow for a year or two and that thing breezed through it. Needed an extra battery but the power was there.
Is there a reason why we are not getting the strongest shape drawn into the grass? I'm sure the clients will love it

Once had a mail truck chuck a newspaper bundle up onto the walkway through the yard as I was mowing.
Made one pass, it wasn’t there. Made a second pass while circling a tree and the paper didn’t come into my view until it was too late. It got sucked in and my big mule of a standing mower BLASTED two pounds of local news confetti all over my mostly done front yard. I called my boss to say my route is going to be delayed, and I spent half an hour cleaning it up and getting the plastic out of the blades.

There is a function to highlight the areas you have missed. I think on the controller it's stand still and click on the joystick that lets you look around. If you move the highlight go away. That is if you want to use that feature.

Because horses are princesses and they dont eat everything.
Sure they might eat a bit, but they wont cut the grass as well as a mower and they wont eat if it's too long)
Also, it looks like it's also a training paddock (sand is NOT cheap so people also train on grass) so putting a horse in there would hurt a bit of the ground
So we equestrians have to cut the grass of our fields just because :D

I see you got a Toro 3280 in your fleet. I know almost nothing about mowers, but I did drive one of those when I did maintenance/landscape work for a few years. It was cool to drive something that most homeowners probably won’t ever get the chance to.

I just picked this game up not to long ago on Playstation on a sale and I'm very pleased with it. It doesn't scratch the same itch that Powerwash Sim does, but it's still very satisfying.
I share your frustration about the controller sensitivity though. I turned it all the way down and it was still very sensitive.
The round after your new HQ move, you made £1260 on a £485 contract. On the same round, Elliot made you only £826 on a £1620 contract. You guys both returned valuables for a £750 reward?! I guess your company can't take the £750 that Elliot got for returning valuables. That's the only thing that makes sense. Otherwise you paid him £800 for one hour of work! I'm in the wrong business. Lawn trimming is where it's at.
It shows the valuables you found on all pages, but only pays it out on your contract.
It takes me about 8 hours to mow my property, I don't know why I can't stop watching this 🤣
The best way to keep straight lines on an asymmetrical property is to cut your first line down the middle and then mow out from the middle line.

Back when i lived with an uncle with 3 acres and a ton of obstacles he always argued it's better to weed wack first then mow. that never made any sense to me whatsoever. I always preferred to mow first, get as close to obstacles that i felt comfortable with then used weed wacker 2nd, in this way it just seemed way more efficient, less time, less gas, etc. So at beginning of the video when you started weedwacking first you gave my PTSD of me arguing with my uncle why in hell he wants me to weed wack first.

Stringer is a Whipper Snipper here. There is also a Weed Wacker which is a different thing than the American Weed Wacker. But Stringeres can also be called Weed Wackers. So, if you ask for a Weed Wacker the store might not know what your talking about. I think one has a reel of string and the other has fixed string. Would be confusing for those from America.

After playing the game a lot myself, I am honestly impressed at how little control you have over your mower and how back and forth you are, not able to make straight lines. I dont know if it is you, or the fact that xbox controllers are horrible, but straight lines are incredibly easy in this game.

I just had a short conversation with my bf today on why we call them weed wackers/weed trimmers in the US because I think it's stupid..and I don't even use mine on weeds. He said "Well, they're string trimmers..but I call them weed wackers. Us Americans have to have special names for everything".
