  • This one had a lot of set up and some emotional moments but no tears like Half Blood Prince. The action was awesome and I loved how epic this finale is shaping up to be! Tom getting Dumbledore's wand is wild as hell by the way... and Hagrid better not die or I will die. Either way, I'm hype to see what is about to go down with Part 2 soon! Thank you for your patience while I moved! I am still working on the background and camera settings stuff but the reaction is here nonetheless!

Doby’s death is a lot more poignant in the books because Doby was working at Hogwarts since year 3 and he hero worships Harry, Doby was the one to give Harry the gillyweed for the triwizard tournament, they always exchange Christmas gifts, there was a whole subplot in the books where Hermione started an elf rights movement and the trio interacts with the elves who work at Hogwarts - basically, we had a lot more Doby in the books and his death in the last book was crushing to the fandom. The reason Kreacher was acting differently towards Harry than he did to Hermione is because Sirius not only left Grimauld Place (the former headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix) to Harry in a will but Harry also inherited Kreacher as well. As a result Kreacher is magically bound to obey Harry. Harry never freed Kreacher because Dumbledore asked Harry not to due to Kreacher knowing way to much about The Order of the Phoenix secret group.
When Harry found out about Regelus Black being R.A.B Kreacher told Harry about how Regelus use to be a Deatheater during the first war. But one day Regelus found out that Voldemort was using his favorite house elf to experiment on when he was creating the evil magical defenses in the cave where the Slytherin locket was originally located. When Kreacher told Harry about how he was tortured by Voldemort and how Regelus sacrifice himself to save Kreacher, Harry felt sorry for Kreacher to the point that he gifted Kreacher the fake Slytherin locket that use to belong to Regelus. From that moment on Kreacher changed his attitude not only towards Harry but he began to be kind to Hermione and Ron as well.

When the trio don't show up at Hogwarts they knew Death Eaters would go after their families for info so they all made preparations.
Hermione modified her parents memories and sent them to live in Australia with new names and no memory of having a child to keep them safe.
The Dursleys were escorted to a safe location by members of the Order so they'd be safe when Harry turned 17 and becane and adult wizard.
Ron and his dad used spells disguise the family ghoul in the attic to look similar to Ron. After the trio leaves the family let it be known that Ron is bedridden with a highly contagious disease called Spattergroit. It disfigures the face and makes it impossible to talk. No one would get close enough to get more than a glimpse of the disguised ghoul and the family would be safe.
It's so sad that they keft out Kreacher's character arc but I understand why they had to. However they could have left in Ron explaining that Voldemort had put a homing curse on his name so they could instantly locate anyone who used his name when he returned. That's how they found the trio at the coffee shop and how they appeared at the Lovegood house so fast.
Splinching is what happens when you apparate incorrectly. You leave part of yourself behind. Hermione did what she could but she couldn't heal it completely so it had to heal on it's own which took a lot out of Ron.
Ron was injured, discouraged, worried about his family plus in the book they were practically starving because despite all of her preparations and planning Hermione forgot to pack nonperishable food and a can opener. Then on top of that he was wearing the horcrux locket that amplified his worries and insecurities.
Oops. Big blank spot towards the end.

The Hermione scene really sets up the seriousness of the movie. The quiver in her voice as she answers her mom and the determination in her walk as she leaves her childhood behind.
There is also a deleted scene I wish they had kept. Petunia is standing in the empty livingroom saying how it was not fair after living in the house for years they are told to pick up and leave. Harry tells her it is for their safety and it is too dangerous to stay. She looks him in the eye and says, "You think I don't know what they are capable of? I have to tell you, the moment Hedwig dies in the books... just like that... She has so much more character in the books than in the movies too, and in that moment as I read it, I put the book down and sobbed. This was a character by Harry’s side from the start of the book series, even before Ron and Hermione, so for years Hedwig had always been there with Harry, even in quiet moments alone. I was the same age as Harry through the series. I got the book as soon as it went on sale, in line and everything, so at that moment I also felt like so many other people must be experiencing the same feeling around the world... It was the first time I truly felt the weight of a childhood being ripped away. That nothing lasts forever, and if someone as pure and innocent as Hedwig could die so horribly (and so early in the book)... it was difficult to pick up the book and keep reading, with that moment at the very beginning.

Remember, when Tom asked if the soul could be split into seven pieces, one piece would still have to be left in his actual body at that time. So that would mean Tom planned to make six horcruxes.

Home from work today because of snow so I am thrilled that the next HP reaction has been posted. Now I can watch it instead of picking up the apartment.
There was a deleted scene that should have been left in because it explains how Snatchers & Death Eaters find people resisting old Voldy’s regime. The name “Voldemort” is Taboo - there is a hex on it & if anyone says “Voldemort” all protective enchantments are lifted & Snatchers or Death Eaters are immediately summoned to the spot.
Old Voldy knew the only people not afraid to use his name were Dumbledore & the Order of the Phoenix as well as Harry. Once Old Voldy gained control of the Ministry of Magic he was able to put a Taboo on his name so that he could find his enemies. That’s how the Death Eaters found the Trio in the cafe. That’s why Luna’s dad said “Voldemort” when he tried to turn Harry in to save Luna.

4:56 Lucius Malfoy had the diary from Voldemort for safekeeping, and had no clue it was a Horcrux. When he put it in Ginny’s cauldron in Chamber of Secrets to cause havoc at Hogwarts, he didn’t realise he was putting part of Voldy’s soul at risk - he also kinda thought the Dark Lord was gone. So Voldemort was pretty furious with Lucius already, and then Draco’s dad lost the extremely important prophecy too - it meant that Harry gained the info from the prophecy but Voldemort still didn’t know what it said, putting Harry at a potential advantage. Lucius is lucky to be alive, and desperate to redeem himself.

To answer your question about Hagrid and magic; Hagrid doesn't use magic very much, and isn't really supposed to. He was expelled from Hogwarts so he never finished school (because Tom Riddle framed him as the one who opened the Chamber of Secrets) though he still has his wand and uses it in sneaky (though not particularly successful) fashion from time to time. Also, the reason they didn't heal George or Dobby is because cursed injuries can't be healed magically. They have to heal on their own, if they can, and sometimes they never heal fully (sort of like Harry's scar, essentially). Looking forward to seeing the conclusion with you! :)

I have to say: the worst thing about these movies is what they did to Ron and Hermione's characters. It is almost totally opposite in the books; Ron is far away from being stupid or weak, and Hermione is not even near that perfect, MANY Ron's lines from books were given to her in the films.
Ron Weasley is an absolute King!

the killing curse can actually destroy horcruxes, hence why Voldemort killing Harry in the 8th movie/7th book destroyed the piece of Voldemort's soul inside him.

    • @DreadKyller
      @DreadKyller Před 4 měsíci

@@GabrielMacy-vf5lk Indeed, the reason they didn't use them is because the unforgivable, especially the killing curse, and less so imperio all require some pretty in depth knowledge of how to use them, and some very strong dark intent. Basically none of them had it in them to really try using Avada-Kedavra or other dark spells that may have worked. We can theorize on whether it would work or not, but the case with Harry himself was a bit different considering he's a living horcrux and not an inanimate object so it may not have worked as well.

Kreacher’s story is included in the books & it is quite tragic. Being bound to the Pureblood Black family he embraced the ideas of Blood Purity. Sirius, who rejected those ideas, was indifferent & sometimes impatient with Kreacher. Regulus Black, who became a Death Eater, was kind to Kreacher so the House Elf was very loyal to him.
During the First Wizarding War Voldemort mentioned to his followers that he needed the services of a House Elf & Regulus, wanting to impress his new Master, volunteered Kreacher. Before Kreacher went with Voldemort, Regulus told him to do what the Dark Lord instructed & then come home.
Voldemort wanted a House Elf to test the protective enchantments & defenses he had placed on the locket Horcrux. He took Kreacher to the cave & made the Elf drink the potion & abandoned him once he saw the Elf being dragged into the lake by the Inferi. He thought Kreacher was dead but the Elf managed to escape & return home as his Master Regulus had instructed.
Once home Kreacher told Regulus what had happened & that made Regulus turn against Voldemort. He told Kreacher to take him to the cave & once there he told the Elf that he, Regulus, was going to drink the potion & ordered Kreacher to switch the lockets, return home & destroy Horcrux locket. The last time Kreacher saw Regulus, the master that had always been kind to him, Regulus was being dragged into the lake to his death. Once home Kreacher did his best to destroy the Horcrux but wasn’t able to do it. He wasn’t able to follow his master’s orders, which for a House Elf, is a terrible betrayal to it’s purpose. Kreacher felt he not only contributed to Regulus’s death but failed to obey on order given by his most beloved Master & he was a terrible House Elf because of it. He became quite bitter & angry as well as a bit crazy because of it.
After hearing his story Harry understood why Kreacher felt little loyalty to Sirius & just how miserable the Elf had been much of his life. Harry assured Kreacher that he had not betrayed Regulus & gave him the locket. Kreacher was overwhelmed by Harry’s kindness & reassurances & happily began serving Harry as his new Master.
Lots of people think that House Elves are a portrayal of slavery but they are mistaken. Slavery is FORCED servitude. House Elves, for the most part, WANT to serve their families. Dobby is the exception because the Malfoys were cruel to him and Kreacher didn’t particularly want to serve Sirius, but there are always exceptions.
Rowling used many mythical creatures in the story of Harry Potter & House Elves are based on Brownies, from Scottish folklore. Brownies work secretly in the home & around the farm. They don't like to be seen & they are easily offended. Their presence is associated with prosperity of the household. They will accept offerings of food but don't want payment. They will leave the house forever if they are given clothes because they feel insulted since a giving them clothes implies their appearance is unacceptable.

First time viewers are often confused by the Resurrection Stone. It doesn't actually bring the dead back to life. It just recalls their spirit, and they can't stay long because, as the story says, they don't belong in this world. It can be comforting to have departed loved ones visit you. But if you hope for a permanent reunion, like the brother in the tale, you are doomed to further grief and disappointment. And no, it can't be used to bring yourself back from the dead.

Remember, in the end of the second part, Harry made Dobby promise "to never try to save his life again"? Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010)
"What a beautiful place... to be with friends."
Fun Fact: Theatrical movie debut of Regé Jean Page.
Hot Take Fact: Filming the "seven Harrys" scene was so complex, that Daniel Radcliffe counted over ninety takes for just a single shot.
Tissue Required Fact: Many Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) fans consider Dobby's (Toby Jones) death to be the most devastating scene of the franchise.
Casting Notes Fact: Elphias Doge (David Ryall) states he knew Dumbledore (Sir Michael Gambon) the longest. This is likely to be true of the actors. Ryall and Gambon shared a great deal of screentime in The Singing Detective (1986). Also, they were cast in Much Ado About Nothing (1967).
Looney For Luna Fact: As in her previous movies, actress Evanna Lynch designed a lot for her Luna Lovegood character, including what she wore, jewelry, and things for the Lovegood's house. She even came up with their dance moves for the wedding scene, which she based on the concept of "wafting wrackspurts away" (which is how it's said to have looked to Harry in the novel).
Slytherin Sinagains Fact: Jason Isaacs originally considered not returning for this movie, fearing that his character's arrest and imprisonment at the end of Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (2007) would mean very little, if any, screentime in the finale. Upon meeting J.K. Rowling, he begged to be let out of prison. She told him "You're out. Chapter one." without hesitation, as this was the plan. This immediately convinced him to sign on for the movie.
Lost In Adaptation Fact: In the opening of this movie, when Hermione (Emma Watson) is called down to tea, we can hear her parents talking about Australia along with an announcer, presumably on the television, talking about the countryside. This is a reference to the book, in which Hermione says she not only wiped herself from her parents' memories, but gave them new identities, and made them think that they'd love nothing more than to move to Australia, which we presume that they do. Upon seeing the set for Hermione's bedroom, Emma Watson told the set decorators that there should be more books, which they happily accommodated.

7:08 That’s kind of why Hagrid was chosen to take Harry. Voldemort and his followers would consider Hagrid the least likely companion for someone as “important” as Harry. The plan did work too, but Hedwig’s love for Harry was what gave away which Harry was the real one. The villains were keeping an eye out for Hedwig, she was a well known part of Harry’s life. Hedwig’s bravery also led to her death 😩

9:36 - As for the Burrow - the Weasley house, it is under the protection of Fidelius charm. This is a powerful and complex spell that magicly hides a location. The location of the place is hidden in the soul of the so-called secret keeper and only he can reveal it to an outsider, but the important thing is that the secret keeper must really want to reveal the secret and do it voluntarily.
He cannot be forced to reveal the secret in any way, and if the keeper really does not want to reveal the secret deep down, neither the torture of the cruciatus curse, nor the mind control of the imperius curse, nor the potion of the Veritasserum truth serum will help. So Burrow is completely safe and hidden from all unwanted people.
To be clear, in the book "Half-Blood Prince" there was no scene where Bellatrix and Greyback attack and burn Burrow, because how could she do it since house is under the Fidelius Curse and Bellatrix and none of the Death Eaters have the right to know where it is.
As for the Fidelius Curse, Harry's parents' house was also covered with it, so Voldemort couldn't find it for a long time. Only the betrayal of Wormtail, who was a secret keeper, enabled Vokdemort to learn his location and kill the Potters. As I have already said, the secret could only be revealed voluntarily, which intensifies Petter's betrayal because his fear of Voldemort was so strong that he willingly revealed the secret about the location of the Potter house without caring about the safety of his former friends.
Many of the Order's homes were also affected by this spell, including Sirius's home which served as the Order's headquarters.

But what about that accident when the trio Apparated from Ministry of Magic to 12 Grimmauld Place and therefore involuntarily revealed its location to Yaxley who simply grabbed Hermione by hand? It certainly couldn't be possible if Fidelius Charm does work as you say.

The wand cores is a major plot point through most of the movies so far, and I noticed you have been confused since the exact moment it was explained in the first movie, even though that’s the most specific and explanatory scene about it. Not sure how it hasn’t been explained many times in the comments on each reaction where you mentioned it so far, but here’s the major scene in the first movie explaining the wands - here is Ollivander’s quote:
I remember every wand I've ever sold, Mr. Potter. It so happens that the phoenix whose tailfeather resides in your wand gave another feather... just one other. It is curious that you should be destined for this wand when its brother gave you that scar.

The true distraction ,was more that Harry did not fly with someone stronger. It is explained in the books Voldy would expect him to be with Mad Eye, because he is the strongest auror. It is said that after they killed mad eye they went after kingsley, the next strongest auror, and at that time harry gave himself away. Hagrid was in no way the same power level as the others. Lupin = werevolf strong wizard. Tonks = auror. Bill = Curse Breaker. Litterally travelled around the world to break ancient curses.

What a cliffhanger! the Dursley's have to leave for their safety and Hermione wiped her parents' memories for their protection/safety now that Voldy is back in form, he did set his death eaters out to wreak havoc on the muggles already. "I saw green, did Hedwig just f'n die?" Yes, according to JK Rowling it symbolizes the loss of innocence and security. One thing I wish they had in this movie that was in the book after Ron destroyed the Horcrux, there was what I call in my mind "The Bro moment" between Harry and Ron from the book. It was so cool between the both of them to have, and that should have been added to the movie. Draco did not want to identify Harry and for good reason too. Lucius looks rough because he was in Azkaban for getting caught at the ministry and failed to get him the prophecy. that is another reason why Voldy has made Malfoy Manor his HQ for his death eaters, the Malfoys have to stay low key now. Part 2 IS CRAZIER! I enjoyed your reaction, and the background looks good to me! Peace. ☮

In the HP universe, there is a powerful charm called Fidelius Charm, which is never addressed in the movies. It is a charm that is put tipically on a building, that keeps people untrackable and conceiled. The only person that can access without problems is called the Secret-Keeper. They are also the only one that can reveal the Charmed place to others, but it can only be done in person, or with a note written directly by them.
Examples: Peter Pettigrew was the Secret-Keeper of the Potters and straight revealed to Tom where they were. Dumbledore was the Keeper of Sirius' house (in fact, even if not shown in the 5th film, Moody made Harry read a note written by Dumbledore in order to get in).
Now, when the Keeper dies, ALL people that knew where the place was, become Keepers themselves; that means that when Hermione Disapparates with Harry and Ron from the Ministry and get them to Grimmauld's Place while Yaxley grabs her, Yaxley becomes a Keeper himself, basically blowing up the Fidelius Charm. She realizes this in a fraction of a second and re-Disapparates with the trio leaving Yaxley there, BUT...
Second thing: when one Disapparates badly, they can get Splinched. It means that you don't teleport completely, leaving actual body parts behind. Yes, a piece of Ron's shoulder was left in front of Yaxley 😂

So a small "plothole" people who don't read the books miss is how strong Hagrid is. In book 5 Umbridge along with a few Aurors go to arrest him. While McGonagall gets hurt during this, Hagrid does not and takes several stun spells that do very little to him. if I remember correctly he even knocks out a few Aurors before running away. So the fact it only took one spell to knock him out was a bit strange. But I guess you could argue he wasn't ready to take it since it was shot in his back.
Also if you want some of the best cut scenes Part 1. It has two with the Durselys that whoever decided to take them out must of been smoking crack cause it nearly redeems them, especially Petunia and Dudley .

You had me on the edge of my seat with that odd long black screen of nothing, if that was intentional, well played Cole 🎉 ❤

Definitely not intentional lol! I have trimmed that part in CZcams editor so that others won't see that long pause.... But for some reason I didn't connect the clips from that scene when editing. I'm hoping it updates soon

Harry and Voldy can't kill each other with their wands, not because they have the same wand core, but because the cores came from the same phoenix. If they came from different phoenixes, they would work the same as any other pair of dueling wands.
