Jesus christ dude! That left hander corner after that triple you're whipping off of. My God you carry ALL speed into that corner and don't even touch the break. You let the sand slow you down. You must feel super comfy in that corner.

For me the straight away ruts are scarier and more challenging than the corner ruts. Last week at Glen Helen after a couple of days of heavy rain, I sucked.

How many days a week do you train to get that much endurance?
i try to ride 3-4 times per week (weather dependent this time of year), but I'll be in the gym or on the bicycle 6 days per week

bit of an odd place to ask this but, how would one go about getting trained/getting fit for motocross. I had my first ride on a dirt bike a couple of days ago, and absolutely loved it, but I realised I am way too unfit for this sport. I have heard you talk about HIIT before, but is that something I should do every day, and is it something that I should do when I just start going to the gym?
Motocross definitely requires an insane level of fitness when you start getting into longer motos on rough tracks, but a lot of people mistake discomfort for a lack of fitness. Even at my level of fitness, if I go to a track I'm not comfortable on (or if we make a suspension change that I don't like), it makes me hold on tighter and expend more energy trying to manhandle the bike rather than staying loose and letting the bike work for me. On the flip side, I could sit on the couch for a year and still be able to do a 30 minute moto on a track I'm comfortable on.
Get a few more days of riding under your belt and focus on breathing, loosening your hand grip (gripping harder with your legs can help), and staying relaxed. You should see huge improvements from those. Doing supplemental work in the gym can definitely help, but the best way to get fit for motocross is to simply ride more.
@@JeffWalker84 might be a bit difficult for me to simply ride more, because I don't yet have my own bike, and I am only able to ride once every 3 weeks at the moment (I am currently taking lessons until I am able to get my own bike). I've been to a lot of tracks down here from invers to Christchurch and the only tracks that have sand like that is the sandpit invers but that track gets hella ruted after a week of being open and they don't groom it alot maybe once every 2 weeks so I don't go there no more. are you in the top or bottom?

It's crazy what today's bikes and throttle can handle. I've done that twice on my little track and luckily just kept going. Once due to mud and the other due to a flat tire. Did it on an older yz250 in the mud once... not such a pretty landing.
