    Thanks to your video, I bought a Crosman 2240XL, and a DonnyFL Tanto which fits both my 2240XL and my Hatsan Flash Pup. Other than my Baikal IZH, my 2240 and now my new 2240XL are my favorite pellet pistols.
    I cut 1/4 inch off my 2240XL hammer spring as I had done to my 2240. I only lost 15fps, and went from 35 shots/CO2 to 55 shots/CO2.
    Thank you for the work you do to produce these videos. You do a great job, and I am sure your channel will be growing rapidly.

    I use 2240 when I am lazy or can’t pump my 1322 which I prefer..It will give about 30 good shoots and can break Heineken glass bottle. I just have original version and it works for me,just iron sights..The whole line up of Crosman 1322/1377/2240 are great, I enjoy shooting them,it’s fun…

      20 yards is realistic if your aim is good.

  • @airguntrucker
    @airguntrucker Před 3 lety +4

    Howdy Al. It sounds to me like there is a bit of hammer bounce in the 2240. I hear a little brrraapp with the shots. So it’s losing shot count by opening the valve several times after the pellet is gone and simply venting CO2.
    If you pop the breech off and video in slo-mo the hammer pin you can see it.
    If you increase the hammer spring it will likely make it worse.

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  Před 3 lety +4

      You are 100% correct regarding hammer bounce in the 2240 and similar CO2 pellet guns. Over the years there have been "de-bouncers" made on a limited basis. Many years ago I tried the one designed by SteveinNC. Unfortunately the one I had did not hold up. But you are absolutely right about what you're hearing.

    If I wanted to put a longer barrel on how do I remove the moderator adapter

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  Před 3 lety +4

      It's permanently attached to the barrel so you'll need a separate adapter for the longer barrel.

    • @Jb_outdooradventures
      @Jb_outdooradventures Před 3 lety +4

      @@AlsAirguns normally they just use a grub screw or two to hold it onto the barrel I don't know why they would permanently attach it

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  Před 3 lety +6

      @@Jb_outdooradventures It's being sold as a threaded barrel. Because of the thread size they needed to increase the barrel diameter. So they press fit he adapter on. Hopefully they'll offer it in additional barrel lengths as well. I actually prefer what they've done over a removable adapter which often introduces alignment issues.

    • @airguntrucker
      @airguntrucker Před 3 lety +3

      @@Jb_outdooradventures if it’s press fit you MIGHT be able to apply heat to expand it while running water through the barrel to keep it from expanding as much. To install it on another barrel put the barrel in a freezer then heat the thread adapter and drop it onto the barrel. As it cools it will lock itself in place. It’s the same process as installing a starter ring gear on a flywheel.
      If that’s more than you care to go through there are a few people selling them on eBay and I’ve seen a few shops selling them but at $40-ish dollars it’s a bit expensive.
      Good luck. 🍀 🍀

    • @AlsAirguns

      @AlsAirguns  Před 3 lety +5

      If you have the threaded barrel like the 2240XL does and are in the USA, I'd say the DONNYFL Tanto or Sumo models. If you have a standard non-threaded barrel, you can use those but will need to order an adapter. With standard Crosman barrels I've had excellent luck with the TKO moderators. They are about half the price of the DonnyFLs but they are a semi-permanent addition and don/t move between guns or go on and off easily. They're also not built out of metal, so while they're less expensive they may be less durable. That said I've owned many and been extremely happy with them. Both companies are know of great service.

    This or the diana air bug?

    • @AlsAirguns
      @AlsAirguns  Před 2 lety +3

      The Diana Airbug (CO2) is a really interesting repeater. It's based off a series of Chinese pistols who's name escapes me. But over all they seem to be well thought of. The Airbug can use Diana's 7 or 9 shot magazine (.22 or .177). Which is an advantage. Unfortunately, I've never shot or held one before. So I can't comment on accuracy or quality of construction. I suspect it's a pretty good pistol. That being said, I also believe the Crosman is probably better built in terms of materials, assembly and quality control.
