Maybe if the band gets bigger and it makes more financial sense, for the time being it is what it is. However no concerts means I have more time to make cool stuff like this!

It's crazy to think that 'Til Death is already over 9 years old. I've been pushing really hard in the meantime to be a better singer, and I feel like the work shows! At least I hope it does! haha.

One of my favorite songs of you is 'all beauty destroyed'. Would love to see you sing it, I always wondered how it would sound now after years of developing your skills as singer. The original recording has so much raw emotion in it that I regularly get goosebumps listenting to it.

It would be amazing if you revisited 2 very great early songs from your first Demo called "Beautiful" and "Death is Real" I actually spoke with you at a show 10 or more years ago here in Detroit about both of these song that never made it to Close to human album. @@ClosetoHumanMusic that's a major disappointment! I do still enjoy the singles though. I thought you were just doing a single a month to see what response you were getting on certain songs to make a new album based off of the data of what singles did the best.

@@Ben-cb3lu I've been doing the singles thing since 2016. The data has conclusively shown, for years now, that people prefer singles over albums. Obviously, general trends don't necessarily apply to individual bands, so I made "Into the Black" as an experiment. I wanted to know if an album would work for Aesthetic Perfection. If you look at the numbers, it's conclusive: The only song that performed well was the lead single "Gods & Gold", the rest did really poorly. I can't invest months or years of my life making music that will get lost in the shuffle. So I'll just keep creating like I always do, but releasing singles more regularly. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for listening!

Hey Daniel, while this is more for the nerds and musicians I would LOVE to see like synth playthroughs and/or breakdowns of a lot of your songs.
My songs aren't very complex so a playthrough would be mighty boring, haha. But I could definitely do production breakdowns.

@@LastStar007 I try not to over engineer my vocals because electronic music is, by its nature, synthetic and inhuman feeling. I try to balance that with vocals that are as raw as I can get away with. Bring a little humanity back into the sterility.
@@ClosetoHumanMusic Wow, you can sound like that naturally!? 🤯The New Black sounds so different here vs album/live that I figured the difference came down to balancing, effects, and all the other things that audio pros bring to the table. FWIW, I've never thought of your sound as sterile!
@@LastStar007 Well, I'm a better singer today than I was 6 months ago, and obviously lightyears beyond what I could do in 2014 when I dropped 'Til Death. It's all about practice.

The normal voice part sounds too forced, weird even. Don't take it wrong btw, I liked this version just prefer the original. Can't wait for the next one
why is your pronunciation so different? generally you sound very tense. probably because you wanna nail the recording.
Is it? I dunno. I focus a lot on pronunciation these days but haven’t listened to the original in years. So I forgot how I sang it then.
@@ClosetoHumanMusic yeah the clean parts for sure. "become" in the chorus is way different, "character" as well, "portray". you add a different vibe at the end. Can't really tell if i like it more or not, but its for sure different than the original.
@@tomknox7425 Understood. So, the short version is that when I sang this for the album I still didn't really understand how to sing. At least not optimally. I didn't know about vowel modification, which makes it easier and safer to hit certain notes with certain intensities. Back then, I sang words more how one would speak them. This approach is bad. It can lead to vocal damage and doesn't really sound very good. These days I try to plan my vowels carefully, so that I can hit the notes safely and with as much resonance as possible.
