The song embraces the term 'zorra', which is the feminine version of 'zorro'. While 'zorro' means the cool good guy, 'zorra' means slut. Nebulossa is trying to delete this negative connotation, and I'm here for it!!! ❤

I love this from Spain. Aside from the message of the song, it feels like a fuck you to the rest of Europe.
Spain sent the professionalism and glitz of Chanel believing they had a chance of winning and they came 3rd.
Then Spain sent the artistry and power of Blanca Paloma believing they had a chance of winning and only came 16th.
This year, Spain are sending something that objectively is not a winning candidate in Europe but the spaniards love it and thats all that matters.
    I respect that.

Nah. Two years ago normal people LOVED Chanel's song from the get go. It was all the pseudo-feminist social machinery that pushed for two other songs that were clearly woke (especially the one from Rigoberta Bandini). Even female ministers came out to denounce the Benidorm Festival for choosing Chanel's song LOL And all of them were wishing Chanel to lose big time in Eurovision. It was quite pathetic. This year it seems they are "course correcting" by picking the most woke-feminist song from the contest even though it's quite "meh" and the singer is very mediocre while performing live. I guess the Spanish government will be happier this time around.

This song is an anthem about what women have always had to hear and endure.
SAYS: If I go out alone I'm the bitch. If I have fun, the sluttiest. If I go out and it's daytime, I'm even sluttier.
I'm in a good place, it was just a matter of time. I'm going to go out into the street to shout what I feel, from the rooftops.
When I get what I want, it's never because I deserve it. And although I am eating the world, not even a second is valued.

I have followed their development in Benidorm since the song came out. They had 100 subscribers on CZcams and less than 600 on Spotify. No one gave a dime for them, until they started getting more views and positive feedback mainly from Latin America since the song went viral on tiktok. These last weeks they have been hitting 55k daily on CZcams and Spotify. These last days 100k daily. What a thrill for nebulossa to beat bands and artists that have had support from all the press, LOS40, record labels.

I love the way Spanish people get behind and celebrate this type of female empowerment anthems like "Zorra" and Rigoberta's "Mamá". :👏 I think we, as gay men, really resonate with this idea of challenging patriarchal norms of society, and reclaiming terms that have been used to hurt us, hence the cheerful response from a predominantly gay male crowd.

(Spain was one of the first countries with free LGTB rights. From 1977 is not traditional) The song is a set, of which the main thing is the lyrics. The word "Zorra" literally means female fox. It is used to insult women, (b#*ch) like many other feminine version of animals, that in masculine terms mean something epic for men (fox to speak about men, means "smart"). It alludes to what a woman who lives freely, who arrives drunk, who does what she wants, looks like.
It's a feminist anthem, and with the staging it opens to the LGBT too. It has it all

Hello, Spanish here. In case anyone is interested or wants to know the context of the song, the word "zorra" (in Spanish, it is the feminine of the animal fox) has been used as an insult to refer to girls who are "so sexually active" (basically the prostitutes/slut/bitch girls), or also the girls who could be classified as "rebels". The intention of this song is that the meaning of "zorra" stops being an insult and becomes a synonym for female empowerment.

Do people realise that Benidorm Fest is a festival itself, right? So… we get to choose whomever we want. 🙄
Part of the prize is getting to participate in ESC? Great, but BF it’s not ALL ABOUT ESC.
One would assume that eurofans should’ve realised by now that we’re simply choosing what’s true to ourselves, regardless of any potential result in Eurovision. I think that’s actually the charm, but some people REALLY just want to listen to the same songs over and over again.
Thank you Noosh for your kind words. ☺️
Ps. to my fellow Spaniards: just quit trying to justify EVERY choice we make, plz. They don’t care about it. Do they think this is trash? Awesome! Don’t mind them and go enjoy yourselves. They have plenty of other countries to choose. 🤗

The lyric is so great. Let me post a translation. btw zorra means "fox female", here in Spain we use it as a synonym to b1tch. Foxy could also be, but zorra is a bit beyond than attractive or clever.
Ya sé que soy solo una zorra
    (I already know that I'm just a b1tch)
    Que mi pasado te devora
    (That my past devours you)
Ya sé que soy la oveja negra

(The misunderstood one, the one made of stone)
Ya sé que no soy quien tú quieres (lo sé)
(I know that I'm not what you want me to be (I know))
Entiendo que te desespere (lo sé)
I understand that it exasperates you (I know))
    Pero esta es mi naturaleza
(But this is how I am, my nature)
Cambiar por ti me da pereza
(Having to change for you makes me lazy)
    Estoy en un buen momento
(I'm in a very good moment)
    Solo era cuestión de tiempo
(It was just a matter of time)
Voy a salir a la calle a gritar lo que siento
(I'm gonna go out to street just to shout what I feel)
    A los cuatro vientos
(At the four winds) (it means to all and sundry)
Si salgo sola, soy la zorra
(If I go out alone, I'm the b1tch)
Si me divierto, la más zorra
(If I amuse myself, the b1tchest)
Si alargo y se me hace de día
(If I lengthen party and dawn light comes to me)
    Soy más zorra todavía
(I am even the more b1tchest)
Cuando consigo lo que quiero (zorra, zorra)
    (When I get what I'm wanting (b1tchie, b1tchie))
Jamás es porque lo merezco (zorra, zorra)
    (It's never because I deserve it (b1tchie, b1tchie)
Y aunque me esté comiendo el mundo
(And even I'm eating the whole world)
No se valora ni un segundo
(It doesn't get value even for a second)
    Estoy en un buen momento
    Solo era cuestión de tiempo
Voy a salir a la calle a gritar lo que siento
    A los cuatro vientos
Estoy en un buen momento (zorra, zorra)
(I'm in a very good moment)
    Reconstruida por dentro (zorra, zorra)
    (I'm just inner rebuilded)
Y esa zorra que tanto temías
(And the b1tch that you so much feared)

    (Went getting power)
Y ahora es una zorra de postal
(And now she is a postcard b1tch)
    (Zorra, zorra, zorra)
A la que ya no le va mal
(To whom it already doesn't go bad)
    (Zorra, zorra, zorra)
A la que todo le da igual
(To whom the whole doesn't even care)
    Lapídame si ya total
(Just throw me stones if, all at all)
    Soy una zorra de postal
    (I'm a b1tch of postcard)
    Yo soy una mujer real
    (I'm a real woman)
    (Zorra, zorra, zorra)
    Y si me pongo visceral
    (And if I'm being visceral/emotional)
    (Zorra, zorra, zorra)
    De zorra pasaré a chacal
(From foxy I'll pass to jackal)
Te habrás metido en un zarzal
(You will be inside a bramble patch)
    Soy una zorra de postal
    (I'm just s b1tch of postcard)
    Zorra, zorra

About her, she and her husband were not famous, almost unknown undergound artists, when the participants list was leaked, many people make fun of them because their age, but then when the song was released was viral because the empowering message of the song... Everybody was anxious about how her live performance was going to be, because she had never befor sung in front of such a big crowd... So... Was an absolut fantasy how she delivered and won.

So about the lyrics, Zorra is a curse word in Spanish, it means something along the lines of bitch or whore. She is singing about being your authentic self and not changing because of the names people call you. So the staging is actually fitting and very symbolic because it's provoking the name-calling. So for me this song is very iconic and feel-good.

She doesn't have the best voice, but she has empowering lyrics for women and minorities. Those who don't speak Spanish probably won't understand the message or why we like her so much. We all love her. Bravo from Argentina.

What decade are you living in? What woman find the word “bit*h” or connotation “sl*t” empowering in 2024? None. In 70’s/80’s yes. Women have long moved passed that stereotype. The only demographic who find this empowering, not surprisingly are gay men, namely bottoms. Which is fine. It’s just not universal at all. And besides 92% of Europe, non Spanish speakers won’t understand a word.

Don't include everyone with that "we all love her". This song is being actually quite divisive here in Spain because it's quite mediocre if not shitty in some aspects (her voice being the main issue). They had better options to send to Eurovision for "empowering lyrics".

I think too strong words should not be used in the Eurovision Song Contest. The statement could be done without shocking anyone. The big audience will not understand the lyrics, but they will wonder why the female singer calls herself a zorra (derogative word for a prostitute). The show may not be not suitable anymore for children who love to watch ESC.

~For all of you that dont speak Spanish~
Some people are a bit confused about why the song from Nebulossa is such a fever in Spain. Let me give you context:
The word "Zorra" literally means female fox but its also a terrible insult to say to a woman, worse than b*tch. María Bass after her 56 years of living has been told this word countless times, for looking good, for having fun, for being honest, for being succesful, etc and now reclames the word to create a feminist anthem with it.
    ---The lyrics say the following:
    I already know I’m just a bitch,
    that my past consumes you
I know that I’m the black sheep
The misunderstood one, the stone-cold one
I already know I’m not who you want me to be
    (I know)
I understand that it exasperates you
    (I know)
    But this is my nature
I can’t be bothered to change for you
    I’m in a good moment
It was only a matter of time
I’m going out to the street
To scream out loud what I feel
If I go out alone I’m the bitch
If I have fun, the biggest bitch
If I come back home after dawn
I’m even more of a bitch
When I get what I want
    (Bitch, bitch)
It’s never because I deserve it
    (Bitch, bitch)
And even if I’m taking on the world
No one values it, not even for a second
If I go out alone I’m the bitch
If I have fun, the biggest bitch
If I come back home after dawn
I’m even more of a bitch
    I’m in a good moment
    (Bitch, bitch)
    Rebuilt from the inside
    (Bitch, bitch)
And that bitch that you feared so much
    Became empowered
    And now she’s a picture-perfect bitch
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
    Who’s not doing bad anymore
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
    Who doesn’t care anymore
Throw stones at me, who cares
    I’m a picture-perfect bitch
    I’m a real woman
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
    And if I act viscerally
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
This bitch will turn into a jackal
You’ll open a can of worms
    I’m a picture perfect bitch
    I’m in a good moment
It was only a matter of time
I’m going out to the street
To scream out loud what I feel
    I’m in a good moment
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
    Rebuilt from the inside
    (Bitch, bitch, bitch)
And that bitch that you feared so much
    Became empowered
    And now she’s a picture-perfect bitch

Nebulossa was completely unknown before Benidorm, the reason why we are obsessed with this is mainly because of the meaning of the song. It is a feminist anthem, Zorra means bitch and female fox at the same time, however, Zorro, which is male fox can also mean intelligent, so they use Zorra as an empowerment word.

    Context for Nebulossa:
They are a couple (theguy playing the keyboard is the singer's her husband and they have 2 children) and they basically have an small recording studio in Valencia to support the indie scene, and this is the second time they are in a big stage (last year they were in UVSPM). They don't have any label supporting them, it's jsut them and their small studio against the wrold, this is why everyone can relate with them.

    Lyrics translation:
    I know I am only a s.lut
    That my past eats you
I know I am the black sheep
The one who's misunderstood, the one made of stone
I know I am not who you want
I understand that you get desperate
    But this is my nature
I can't be bothered to change for you
I am in a good moment
It was just a matter of time
I'm gonna out on the streets and shout how I feel from the rooftops
    If I go out I am a s.lut
If I have fun an utmost s.lut
If it grows longer and the day breaks
I am an even utter s.lut
When I get what I want
It's never because I deserve it
And even though I am conquering the world
It's not appreciated for a second
I am in a good moment
It was just a matter of time
I'm gonna out on the streets and shout how I feel from the rooftops
I am in a good moment
    I have rebuilt myself inside
And that s.lut that you were so afraid of
gradually empowered herself and now she is a postcard-picture s.lut
And she is not doing so bad
And she doesn't care about anything anymore
you can stone me I don't care
    I am a postcard-picture s.lut
I am a real woman and if I get visceral
    From s.lut I will become a chacal
And you will get in trouble
    I am a postcard-picture s.lut
I am in a good moment
    I have rebuilt myself inside
And that s.ut that you were so afraid of
gradually empowered herself and now she is a postcard-picture s.lut

  • @begaba29
    @begaba29 Před 4 měsíci +2

The song is loved by Spain because it is a full-fledged feminist movement. In Spain, the word "Zorra" means Fox, but this word has a negative meaning when talking about women, similar to calling her a whore or bitch. On the contrary, in the masculine it implies a very smart and cunning man, a man with power.
For this reason, the song fights to change that meaning so marked in Spain and equal it to the masculine, assuming the singer herself and the women as "Zorras", powerful women who have all their freedom of decision, thought and fight for their rights.
That's why all the people sing this song, because women and men are equal, and we are all foxes and not bitches.

You're wrong. Very few people knew this band in Spain. It came to me as a great surprise. The song is just too good. The lyrics are really powerful and the music is really good. Her voice isn't Whitney's, but who cares? It suits the song and the staging perfectly!!
She made me want to see the Eurovision song contest again.
Unfortunately, lyrics like that are still necessary and done in such a funny, powerful way...no words.
I stand for her and for all those women who have to cope with "beings" telling them what to do and how to behave as if they were, in any way, entitled to do so...I hope she'll win!!❤❤
