    23:00 OH MY GOD what is this...Now I can only imagine how most of these buildings and Power Stations from that time actually looked like when they were new and maintained... Just leaves you in shock and with ton of questions, like who these people in the picture, and half naked people actually are, how tall built they actually were, what were they called, how long did they live and so many other questions! Something tells me that these were not the same people from the late 19th early 20th century stumbling upon old ruins across muddy roads in their wooden carriages and wagons. Just what kind of civilization were they, and what happened to them? What kind of society was that, the every day environment?When did our civilization actually begin? Questions just never stop coming

    I love this channel. There are pictures here I have never seen anywhere else and I watch a lot of these types of videos. If I could make a suggestion, if you could put subtitles at the bottom of the pics telling where they are taken and if possible, from what time in history, it would be really helpful. Great video as always!

    Architects of today should be ashamed of even calling theirselves that. Where did the skills go? Why wouldnt that level of craftsmanship be past on its mind-blowing.

    • @kavalogue
      @kavalogue Před 3 měsíci

      Simply put, people no longer want to live in stone temples, or have their entire city modeled after or around a church. Theres still remnants and architects today incorporate already existing structures into new forms, but all in all we've completely streamlined construction. Yes it looks amazing, yes it adds wonderment and makes the world more interesting, but these structures are not fit for single mothers or college students nor dave whos been unemployed for 4 years and cant pay rent. It was simply easier back when it was a in comparison to today - modestly small city just with giant intricate structures and designs that heavily reflected the beliefs and worships of the inhabitants.
      When you go shopping for food you don't want 20 religions shoved down your throat and if we still did this that's what would happen. Isle 12 would be archway 4019 and then divided again based on religion and design. It's impossible to fund that today unless we collectively agree on something none descript in which case we could agree money is of no value other than construction and dedicate new York sized cities to dragons or spaghetti monsters, but people have decided supporting their family and not being homeless or at most sleeping in a communal hall with 40 other families. Life has gotten complicated so building must get easy.

    Boy, that sculpture @ 24 minutes in sure says a mouthful. Noticed how their faces were chipped away. Like something that the religious fanatics of today would do. 3x our size, and being waited on hand and foot. Is there any wonder why there are 2 sets of doors in many of these structures ? Don't worry, be happy with the story we give you, and look over here. 😊

    • @RonCobb-co6dr
      @RonCobb-co6dr Před měsícem +1

      And the sculpture at 21:48, The mirror? Or like X ray ? That's amazing, you could spend weeks trying to decipher that. And it has magical properties, you can feel it. I can't tell what it is that they are doing with it but it feels like it's a part of a ceremony about the 2 of them. A revealing of the souls if you will. I believe that these sculptures are what they left behind so that we one day would know who they were and how they lived and loved.

  • @lucilledelorme

    I often wonder how much living in an ugly environment of nasty Soviet era style concrete monstrosities contributes to disaffected young men acting out in violent and antisocial ways. The almost banal and timeless beauty of these aesthetic buildings must make for a more uplifting living experience. Even government and commercial places of business were built to last and made to be visually appealing. Bombay railway station is but one example where beauty was considered not just cheap functionality. Personally, I can't think of anything built after WW2 that's substantive or we'll liked. Modernism is just Frank Lloyd Shite.

      As taxation took over globally only those who could afford such domiciles continuosly inhabited them whilst other surrounding structures lost purpose and where slowly replaced or deconstructed to rebuild modern more society driven buildings. Peoples wants and needs changed. It went from being Happy knowing there's a golden temple for their god in the city centre to requiring a tax office to ensure they're documented and can keep what they have. All of a sudden the gold statue's and walls begin to mean less and those who constructed or funded the statues and walls begin to reclaim them to document their wealth as society progresses
