  • This work builds upon that which @Austech did a year ago! You should really check out his channel! He has hundreds of remastered music videos and is really the one who deserves the credit and attention here. / @austech
This is the one where he remastered the Lynyrd Skynyrd Oakland footage with AI / Machine Learning technology. I added to that, making corrections for color, gamma, saturation and aspect ratio.
This was tough. Each camera seemed to have its own level of correction needed, so I tried to average it out instead of making a different preset for each camera. The blues in the sky, jeans, clothing are more accurate. I might have gone too far with upping the saturation but I wanted things to "pop out."
I may either tone down the colors a tad and/or attempt to bring down the yellow hues. The problem is that if I tap further into the red tones, it starts affecting shadows and skin tones, because there's very little color data to draw from.

I dislike the sentiment that nowadays every music event just has everyone recording all the time distracting from the experience. Being what you would call part of the younger generation I´ve been to a bunch of smaller gigs myself and (atleast with regard to the artists I enjoy) this has never been an issue. Sure, some people took pictures, but not every concert is like the big ones you see in the news where everyone is filming.
I can understand nostalgia and understand how your experiences must have been awesome, but I feel like this "no phones unlike today" stuff just sets wrong precidents about young people and how they have fun. You had your fun back then and I hope you still do now, so please let other people have their fun now.

I'm 69 in 2023......obviously this was MY ERA. I would have been 23 when this took place. By then, I had seen Skynyrd maybe 3-4 times already. They always gave you all they had. I couldn't hold back a few tears when watching this.....personally, I feel completely BLESSED to have been born WHEN I WAS and WHERE I WAS (America). It wasn't without pain....usually from my own doing and stupidity....but I've had a GREAT LIFE when I look back on it. Oh....btw....I vote we import all the chicks in this video into our times now and deport all the ones that are here now. 1977, and I was the sound man of a band that had two guitar players who would double track their guitars, (play note for note against each other). I remember them saying how hard it was to play tight on the songs. Skynyrd is doing this with three lead guitar players, on a fast beat in front of 100,000 fans. The leads are just amazing. And the bass player, Leon Wilkeson, is a virtuoso to hang in like he does. I consider this one of the best live concerts of all time.
