In my opinion, Looper was his last great movie and performance. That movie was a masterpiece and he definitely helped carry it.

*Heart breaking. He is pretty much my favourite action star. Die Hard is still one of the best action films ever made.*

I can't think of another actor who did more of my favorite movies than him. He was an absolute legend.

I really liked 16 Blocks, The Last Boy Scout, and Hudson Hawk, would eagerly watch Moonlighting as a kid, and even bought his debut album. He put in the hard work, and so playing the game scraping off the cream in productions before his disease stopped him working is fine in my book.
Never heard of Moonrise Kingdom, so that is one on my list to watch.

Bruce Willis started out in " Moonlighting". It was a summer replacement show, expected to be terrible. Cybil Shepard was a has been, Willis was unknown. But the show was great, thanks to Willis's obnoxious, sarcastic personality.

Glass had some much potential, it could have been brilliant. It was frustrating to watch. I blame the script and the director. In general though its almost if the story was written in an hour.

Lots of people are being incredibly gracious and giving him a pass for behavior that happened decades before his medical condition developed. He was incredibly arrogant and was well on his way to ruining his career overall as he had already ruined his reputation in the industry and many working relationships with stars and directors. I wouldn't wish retirement due to disability on anyone, but in his case it was fortunate in that it allowed him to save face before his bridge-burning caught up with him.

The 1980's & 1990's were probably Bruce Willis greatest years as a box office draw. He pretty much lost interest and went into DTV hell in the last decade or so. His recent retirement due to aphasia, certainly does describe his poor performance in recent films. It is pretty sad to see what has happened to him. Your next What the heck happened to? Should probably be Mel Gibson. Here is a guy who was Hollywood darling following his breakout in the Mad Max & Lethal Weapon films and then his fall from grace with his Antisemitic rants against an officer and his then girlfriend. He probably would be an interesting subject for you to cover - as he is still somewhat controversial for some people. He recently admitted the late Dick Donner has asked him to direct Lethal Weapon 5, should he pass away, which he did. Gibson to this day still remains a decisive figure as they are still plenty of people who won't work with him.

Yeah Bruce definitely had a good run early on, not many people have as many hits as him within a single decade as his 90s.
Mel Gibson is for sure a good option for our next video! Controversial and interesting and still relevant after all the stuff he’s done. Heard he was supposed to do a sequel to Passion of the Christ. Thanks for the suggestion!

You know it's funny how you mentioned at length in the Winona Ryder video how ageism was a contributing factor to her losing roles, yet completely glossed over the fact that there was a reduction in rules for Bruce due to his age. So, are you saying only ageism can affect women?
