- I am trying to ask others how to wire my CDI and the few straggler wires on my wiring harness. I cannot afford $300+ for a new harness so I have to do it myself.
Red 12v CDI wire wires to WHAT?
**EDIT** **UPDATE** I was able to rebuild the wiring harness basically from scratch after finding a legible free schematic.
Nice work way too go
i have one and the had alll brown wires and a black hooked into the coil. you saying it should be all brown and a blue white wire hood to the coil? i got it after others have attemped fix hopfully i can figure it out
I am having the same problem with the solinoide wires on my 2005 Sportsman 500HO. The polaris replacement i got has 3 pins and the orignal had 4. I know you have to splice some together for the new one but every video and diagram i view shows different color wires.. one guys 2005 will have 5 wires.. one will have 3.. an so on. An they are all different colors then mine. I have 2 brown wires that are factory spliced and have no clue where they go..
EFI? I hope I'm not the only one that thought EFI and carburated were two different things.
Always can reach out to Polaris and ask them if they will share that one page of information with you.
I know it’s a long shot but do you remember the wiring diagram you used I’m having a hard time finding one for my scrambler 500
Memory is hazy but I know how I work. I kept google searching and swiping through images.
The internet is really stingy when it comes to any wiring diagrams for some reason
amazon has stators pretty cheap ($42). i just purchased one for my 99 sportsman 500. the brown wire was burnt from the front of the bike all the way to the stator. im not sure about an answer to your question. sorry
+William Holzknecht (WILLSWHEELHAUS70) after days and days of exhaustive searching online for a legible [FREE] wiring schematic, I ended up basically rewiring the harness and got her back into fine running shape and sold off to fight another day... NOW I'm battling a 2009 Yamaha 350 Raptor spark issue... after replacing the stator and pickup coil, it has no spark when the crank button is depressed. Thinking it needs ANOTHER crappy chinese stator
In the black wire at Cdi box
carburated efi??
carbed. got it fixed a while back and sold for a healthy profit
what was the problem
Probaly the stator
Problem is killswitch
2006 "carb" polaris sportman gets ONE spark then nothing!? Turn key to off position and retry to start >> again, one spark!
Sounds like CDI module.
I had a Raptor 350 that had that exact same issue - if you bounce the start button and see spark then I'd really look at cdi.
I have some raptor videos on my timeline w the same issue. Replaced cdi once and it frustrated me so bad because I bought a defective Chinese CDI. Hahaha
@@BAMAJiPS that's a possibility. Ive got a stator and pulse pickup on the way. If still no luck then cdi. Nothing left but a sledgehammer after that!
@@SticksNkicks
I've been there. Same exact symptom as you described. Watch this.

FAULTY aftermarket brand new cdi Module. Everything in that ignition system was replaced numerous times
@@BAMAJiPS it was the safety kill at the throttle. I'd assumed this 06 didnt have the safety kill but it did and was the issue. I appreciate your help!
Off/on/off switch on the handlebars is bad if you get the one spark issue
It can’t be carbureted and EFI
There's two identical models save for the EFI and Carb variations.
that is the reg rec not cdi
If ya can’t afford parts to maintain the quad just sell it.
This was a budget flip for profit. Had $400 in it - Sold for $1500. Couldn't find a harness for sale - was able to repair this harness and make money. I don't see anything wrong with that
