- The most common reason why your Polaris Sportsman has no spark and is not firing. Here are some of the things your must check. In the video I accidentally called the voltage regulator the CDI module take note of that. The CDI module isn't shown in the video but I will try to address that in another video.
Sir i can't thank you enough for the video. have a no spark on a 99 500 and after replacing unnecessary parts I was about to give up. After your video I just went and cleaned all the grounds and made a new wire for frame to motor and spark is back BABBBYYY!!! WOOOOOOOOOO! BLESS YOU BRO
Glad it worked for you!! That's amazing!
I have listened to your video, and it was really good and very much helpful to me, thanks very much.
Great video brother, thanks.
Thanks @
What a drag to have to go through all this to get the thing to run though.
Good video man. Appreciate it!
You are welcome
@@jeshualee2711 great video by the way. I subscribed! I’ve only Subscribed to about 10. You seem to have a great clear and concise way of explaining. Great work and can’t wait to check out more vids.
@@CanuckTony thank you, I have a lot more that I'm working on but keep giving out of time to get them uploaded
Thats the voltage regulator , not the CDI module as I accidentally said in the video. Thanks guys.
Got my 2000 scrambler 400 running after a few months of sitting, ran it for about 20 minutes, then outta no where she just died, had to push it home. I don’t have spark. Changed the plug and still nothing. What are some things to look for ? I’ve read kill switch wiring, CDI and stator. Don’t know where to look first, any help?
trai boss 325, im gunna be looking into this tomorrow on a no spark issue thanks!
Oh okay. Hopefully you can figure it out!
@@jeshualee2711 ended up finding 4 wires exposed down by the stator/pull cover!
@@tylerwing7820 good job, glad you found the problem!
Really could use your help on a 04 polaris sportsman 400 with an intermitten bogg.
They can be tough to diagnose sometimes. I stay busy
At 1:45 in the video, is the correct time 1:20 ?
I have a very weak spark from the spark plug wire to the motor with the spark plug cap removed. When i put the cap and plug back on no spark. Any ideas?
Try replacing the ignition coil. The cheap eBay ones are fine.
Great vid!
One question. Mine is starting then all of a sudden it won’t turn off with the key. Do you think that would be a grounding issue? Thanks
Did you replace the key switch with a $20 Amazon or ebay keyswitch?
@@jeshualee2711 no it’s the original. Got it running then the spark died then came back for no reason. Now it will run but you can’t kill it with the key. It was working fine.
@@richardallen8575 keyswitch is bad most likely. Could also be a grounding issue up near the steering column.
Could be the black wire near the front with a white box on it. Unplug the speedo
where is the location of the fuse box or breaker box on a 2005 Sportsman 400 4x4. I can't find it. Appreciate it.
Usually in the front directly in front of the handle bars. Other times there could be a fuse on the left under the rear fender.
Question.. mine cranks but doesn’t start. Pulled original spark plug and changed it and has spark but won’t start. Any suggestions
Timing or carburetor needs to be checked
My 1995 425 Magnum 4x2 quit running, after cleaning the carb I realized spark is very weak, only sparks on initial crank then quits, I cleaned and changed out the Ignition Coil fasteners like you said and still have the same issue, is it time to replace the coil? The Stator pick up looks new, the previous owner must have changed it out.
Yeah the coil is the next easiest thing to replace and is relatively inexpensive so yes try replacing it first.
Great thanks. I’ll keep you posted. BTW excellent video a big help to me and many others.
Well I replaced the coil and I Zero spark 😞 any suggestions? What would be the next step?
Sorry to bother you @jeshualee2711 I forgot to put the pickup wire on, loads of spark now. Thanks again, you are a huge help!
@@dwightbrooks2437 glad you figured it out! So it was the ignition coil all along?
My 2003 sportsman 500 starts on the pull starter but just turns over with the key. Runs fine, but wont start with key. What are your thoughts on that?
Have you replaced the key switch recently? If so where did you buy the key switch from?
Actually, I did, but then when that didn't fix the problem of it not doing anything, I went ahead and put the original back it. @@jeshualee2711
So I replaced my stator to a new one and there’s no spark, also grounds connected but it was running awhile back in October 2021
Could be a bad CDI module. What year is it?
So question for you i replaced every thing and have weak spark coil cdi stator still have a very weak spark
Unplug the speedometer and see if it works better and has a stronger spark.
@@jeshualee2711 i did nothing i cleaned and sanded all the ground point still noting mind u i am runing it with a boat battery
@@jeshualee2711 also it has new switches cdi new regulator has power and motor looks brand nee cam lobes are brand new
Did you try unplugging the speedometer? Boat battery shouldn't matter long as it's 12volts
@@jeshualee2711 i did and still nothing
I didn’t know Cleveland from family guy works on four wheelers.
