I heard Mustafa cite Neil Young as a key influence... if I should ever meet him in line atta Timmie's or something, I will tell him that his record "When Smoke Rises" is as harrowing & profound a meditation on grief & loss as Neil's classic LP "Tonight's the Night"-- high praise, as "Tonight's the Night" is one of my all-time favourite LPs. But Mustafa's record is just that soulful... 🦃
