From a strict "international law" perspective, I believe the 10/7 assault would possibly be viewed in the same light as the Nat Turner Slave Revolt and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. That is, a repressed/oppressed people have the right to armed resistance under the Genocide Convention (of which Israel and the US *are* signatories) and UNGA Resolution 3246, adopted in November 1973, which "affirms the legitimacy of armed resistance by oppressed peoples in pursuit of the right to self-determination, and condemns governments which do not support that right".
