- Shasta High School presents: The Sound of Music. A springtime theater production for 2016. Based in Redding, California, Shasta High has been producing musicals for over 45 years. The Sound of Music ran for two weekends and this is the Friday before closing night.

I could feel the chemistry between Rolf And Lisel doing the Sixteen going on Seventeen number.
I'm so amazed at the actress who plays Mother Abbess being a high school student.
This is hands down my favorite high school version of the sound of music. I was cast as Maria at my school and I use this version of the show as my inspiration :). You guys are phenomenal!

Having screened the original Sound of Music more times than I care to remember I think I am qualified to comment on this production. It was absolutely amazing and hard to believe that it was produced by a High School. Congratulations to everyone involved.

I stumbled across this because I couldn't sleep. I was in this play in high school as well What a fantastic production! It blew me away. I stayed up watching it until the sun came up. I even got a lump in my throat a couple of times. What fond memories! THANK YOU!

This version means so to me because I watched this when I found out my Theater was doing Sound of Music with broadway actors! I said if I get in, I would want to play Birgitta, They held auditions and I got the role. It was a life changing experience and I will never forget it! I love this so much!
Congratulations on getting the part :) such a lovely show. I'm in a production of The Sound of Music also and have been cast as Herr Zellar though its been delayed due to corona virus but also performed in this show when I was at school and played Admiral Von Schrieber. I will always go back to this show. I would love to play Max Detweiller one day :) I hope your production went well.

Very nice!I once saw a documentary about children from the slum of an indian city rehearsing for a concertant performance. The boy soprano who sang this song very beautifully entered the big theatre and encountered running water and toilets for the first time in his life.Quite touching!saskia Veen
Did u know that Liesl Fredrich Louisa Kurt Brigitta Marta and Gretl were real people in 1943? There really was a captain Von Trapp. There really was a Maria too
None of those are the real names of Captain Von Trapp's children though

Idk about that. I don’t go there, but it’s not a religious school. I just started my teen years and I go to a Lutheran school and religious schools are more fun
Only about ten minutes in, and if the nuns with the little bit of singing were that good (plus the reverend mother) I can only imagine how the rest of the cast does and the rest of the production.
Ralph and Liesl's voices are so great! One of the best Ralph's I've heard in a while👍 The whole cast has great voices too👍

Put it in a braid around her head.
And it actually looks traditional, which most other possibilities do not.

A blonde Liesl and a brunette Louisa was thinking outside the box, I love the stage shows better than the movie as they do things in a way more compact way and it’s not like they are in for the money yet here the cast are enjoying it more as if it were a hobby and not a career
This is one of the best productions I've seen! Only thing that bugs me is that Maria enunciates WAYYY too hard and it becomes irritating.

Found Shasta HS Musicals, and LOVE their 2014 production of South Pacific. Can anyone tell me, who played Luther Billis? Is he playing lead male role of Georg Von Trapp in this 2016 production?
No Billis graduated the same year as South Pacific I think, von trapp is a different guy
