    Hi Steve, Your preorder selections are very impressive. I am new to your channel and have subscribed. I cannot wait to see your pre-orders run when you finally get them in your hands. I have pre-ordered a polar express myself with all six cars. I decided to go with the original black just like the movie. I have also pre-ordered the Cab 3. I look forward to your future videos and will go back and watch your previous ones. Thank you for sharing your pre-order selections with us. Frank

      Hi Frank, welcome to the channel! Thanks for the sub! The Polar Express started my journey back in November, but I didn't like the semi-scale versions, so I didn't get one . . You'll have to share your complete set when it arrives! Thats really exciting!

      I also have the semi scale version with some extra cars. But I’ve always wanted the O scale version. I will definitely be making a video as soon as I get it in my hands. 👍

    nice videos heres a fun fact D&RGW Triplex Locomotive was a proposed Triplex steam locomotive by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad and The Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive was proposed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works after they had built the very first three triplex locomotives for the Erie Railroad in 1914 and they were planning to build this locomotive for the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad. but unfortunately The reasons to why Denver and Rio Grande Western's Triplex Locomotive wasn't built was because of the issues with the Erie Railroad's P-1s and the Virginian Railway's XA when they couldn't go as fast as their top speed was about 10-15 mph, with the Virginian Railway's XA reaching 3-5 mph or even as high as 10 mph. sort of like what if D&RGW built the Triplex Locomotive

    Vanderbilt Tenders were built in two different lengths for extended service with bigger engines. Size difference I don’t recall?

    The H7 in my opinion was a missed opportunity. Lionel could have offered the Union Pacific version as a brass hybrid and it could have looked more like the prototype where it had the air pumps hidden, and a center-mounted headlight. They looked more like the early challengers.

    • @BigBoyTrains-
      @BigBoyTrains-  Před 6 měsíci +1

      You bring up a very interesting point here!! . . Just today I began looking deep into the brass hybrids. They are quite a compelling choice.

      @@BigBoyTrains- they are definitely! It's especially frustrating to me when Lionel has offered different variants on the same type of locomotive.
      The new 4 - 6 - 0 is a good good example. The headlight placement on those differs depending on which version you get.
      I feel like if Lionel had made the Union Pacific version of the H7 with the center mounted headlight and whatnot I feel like that would really have been well received by people.
      As is the version being offered I guess is still accurate. Some UP H7's looked like the C&O version. But it still would have been nice to see some differences between the 2 versions UP H7's.

      Yup, I first saw iot on Erics trains. Then it happened to me and I tried the weight with success.

    Too rich for my blood, no offense. Lionel would have to slash a digit or two off their pricetags for me to be ordering anything new off of them. Tend to stick to buying used or going to Menards, much friendlier on the ol' wallet.
    Really like the prairie making a comeback in the traditional o section, but I found the prewar one it's based on at a show for 1/3 the price of the new one in good running order...plus a tinplate crane car to go with it.
    Just like getting the most bang for my buck is all, and I like running old trains just as much as I like the new stuff.

      Not a darn thing wrong with wanting more for the money you work so hard for! I have recently picked up a few items from Menards, and I was quite shocked at the nice quality for such a nice price!
