Antonio Brown Behavior Pre-Burfict & Post-Burfict Hit
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 18. 06. 2020
- On January 9, 2016, Pittsburgh Steelers' wide receiver Antonio Brown engaged in head-to-head contact with Vontaze Burfict. The hit, initiated by Burfict would be sever enough to put Brown in concussion protocol. In an interview soon after the on-field altercation between himself and Burfict, the Steelers' superstar stated that the effects of the concussion lasted "only" 2 weeks. However, the concussion that lasted "only" 2 weeks would unfortunately prove to be life altering. In the NFL, there's three letters every NFL player wishes they never hear in succession. C.T.E. In today's video, we pull up multiple videos of Antonio Brown before his hit with Vontaze Burfict and after his hit and analyze the terrifying difference in behavior and characteristics. From Logan Paul to Shannon Sharpe, Antonio Brown seems to have made several enemies and has put himself in multiple scenarios that many may find uncomfortable.
What is C.T.E.?
C.T.E. stands for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy. It's a neurodegenerative disease.
What is a neurodegenerative disease?
A neurodegenerative disease is a disease in which cells of the central nervous system stop working or die.
What are symptoms of C.T.E.?
- Difficulty thinking (cognitive impairment)
- Impulsive behavior
- Depression or apathy
- Short-term memory loss
- Difficulty planning and carrying out tasks (executive function)
- Emotional instability
- Substance misuse
- Suicidal thoughts or behavior
Just to clarify, I'm not saying that Antonio Brown 100% has C.T.E., but his rapid change in personality and behavior is for a reason. There are causes for every effect.
Regardless of what Antonio Brown is currently going through, all I can personally offer is my prayers and hope that his recent behavior and characteristics are just a small phase.
Hope ya'll enjoy!!! Thanks for watching đđ

Man he is a shell of his former self. I've never seen him so articulate and kind. He even has a different look in his eyes.
I'm not a Steeler fan so that how I remembered Brown. Then whenever the antics started I was like, "is this that same kid?"
I thought the same thing about his eyes too
This is a good video because you can see the change; it's sad because he was a nice guy
Oh his eyes look completely different, the look in his eyes are crazy
Hes older so of course duh
In a Stanford study 95% of people who've played contact football 10 years or more have CTE. I played exactly 10 years and was having every single symptom so I had multiple CAT scans done. Sure enough my frontal lobe activity compared with a healthy person's the same age showed just how much my brain wasn't lighting up even half as much. I had to give up a scholarship to Appalachian State.
Now 10 years later my hands shake, I literally forget something I was thinking about just a second before. And so many other things that scare me. I've never been a violent person but now I seek out fights on impulse. Swear I was recently arrested, first time, for a guy cutting me off at a Hardee's. I don't remember kicking the fuck out of this guy's truck trying to get him out. He easily had 100 pounds on me but he took off. He told the officer that he was going to get out but the look in my eyes scared him. That scares me because I don't remember any of it besides the immediate anger and standing in the drive-thru with a crowd of people looking at me. Drove home and was promptly arrested the next day. The guy dropped charges if I'd pay for the damage and 2 years probation.
Im not some anonymous badass. The point is if you start having these symptoms see a doctor. They can't diagnose CTE until you're dead, but they can help you out tremendously. I've had no bad incidents since because I have a great neurologist.
dude! thats amazing to hear. Knowing that you had past issues and are now able to currently live incident free for some time is absolutely fantastic news. Reading ur story had me depressed and i honestly thought it would have a sad ending. It honestly makes me happy knowing you have found help. Wish you the best of luck man. đ
That's awesome, the general consensus and treatment for CTE I think will drastically change in the next 5-10 years.
I have it too i hit my head on iron cased pipeline knocked me off my feet
@@Subzero48xb actually you're lucky. The more research that comes out shows that even though multiple concussions can cause it, it's usually more the result of repeated sub concussive hits to the head. But I'd get your head examined if I were you. Don't wait till it gets debilitating.
I don't want you ending up getting arrested for something you don't remember doing. I could've gotten shot had that dude been armed.

No what happens in the microtubulas that suspend the brain, or more correctly maintain its position in the skull tear. Think of them all little needles that flex and bend, when you get hit like that. Its like slamming a car into a brick walls at 35 mph. Except the brain has no seat belt. It slams against the skull that where the damage is done. It does not heal.
After he took off his equipment during the game I came back to rewatch that hit Burfict gave to him. I actually watch that game and I thought that was a hellacious hit he took. He really hasnât been right since.
I agree with you 100%!!
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY!!!!!
As a Bengals fan I can tell ya "we've" noticed in real-time and have blamed Burfict for AB, and that loss. I also blame Marvin Lewis for the lack of discipline. Wasn't OK at all with it no matter how much I hate the Steelers. Even prior to the games outcome. Same with JuJu's retaliation the next year but I understood.
I sadden how many people seem to have forgotten about this hit. This is a real time viee ofnwhat the movie concussion was demonstrating.
People turning their back on him just the same.
He hit the turf like a lifeless object...a ragdoll. Burdick hit his head AFTER the ball was missed.....Browns head swung and his body fell to the field....looking lifeless...wow. I swear eventually parents with sense will NOT allow they children to play. What's the point of playing a game that can have LIFE ALTERING EFFECTS. little league coaches saying....hit hard....they teach it.....and when it happens.....they celebrate....wow. sports is fun...when it's NOT violent.
Antonio Brown has been like this long before that Burfict hit. He had issues in college and had to settle for a scholarship to FIU. He didnât even get to play at FIU, because he was expelled before the season started, for, among other things, punching a security officer on campus. He then went to Central Michigan where he had serious issues being late to practices and meetings, and also had issues throwing tantrums, even one where he wiped out his coachâs desk. That is why he fell to the sixth round. In Pittsburgh, he was always like this. They just did a really good job of covering it up. The minute he got paid he basically cursed out and threatened Dick LeBeau and several teammates have come out and acknowledged that he was always like this and that numerous people have tried to reason with him. Also, that there are even more stories about how he was than people know about. He was like this long before that Burfict hit.
Thank you for expanding on it, I've heard lots of people say he was always like this but never elaborate. I had no idea he had that many instances before the hit
Yes. The money and fame he got just encouraged the behavior that was already there.
People blame CTE (which you canât be tested for while alive), for everything.
bruh, i just looked at the blog you got this from and while some of it is correct, some of it isn't. he was never expelled from fiu, his scholarship was rescinded and they parted ways. nowhere outside of that blog and message boards can you find anything about him punching a security guard at fiu, there was a situation he was around when security came and it escalated and he ran. that blog is also the only place where you can find any mention of him wiping out his coaches desk at central michigan. im from pittsburgh, and brown had no major issues prior to 2017. you may want to get your facts from somewhere other than a blog.
@@smoothjulio CAT scan can reveal the damage, so in a sense you can be tested for CTE. They can't diagnose it until after death.
You can see a neurologist and get treated for it and at least get some help dealing with it.
@@samueld5418 Dude he had problems before. I'm from Pittsburgh too and I remember radio shows talking about how much of a problem he was going to be as soon as he got that big pay day.

After his departure from the Bucs game I read a news story that took me to a video on Twitter and then one of the comments on there led me to this video. The NFL and sports leagues in general need to do more with. these guys make billions for these organizations, they have money to help in the long run after players leave. No excuses.
Itâs not just football.
Soccer, hockey, fighting sports like boxing and MMA, professional wrestling have been linked to CTE.

He must have CTE, reminds me of Ballers on HBO. Watching how well mannered, self aware, and the respect he showed his teammates before the Burfict hit, he's not the same guy. That's what CTE does. The NFL is just as guilty for this as anyone else. They continually let Burfict play after all his dirty hits. They don't provide lifetime medical insurance. It's a joke. Someone should interview his fam. I bet they could lay out the truth. The NFL needs to take care of their players and if AB has CTE, he shouldn't have been allowed to keep playing after being diagnosed. đđ§ â
Exactly. Theyâre just making fun of these players instead of taking care of them. But then they still want people to support them after the mess they do. Iâm 100% more supportive of the players that actually play endure these hits in the game then the owners and commentators just making fun of them.
Unfortunately CTE can only be diagnosed after death, so thereâs really no way to definitively say someone whoâs living has CTE and must stop playing, but when someone is showing signs of sever mental distress, CTE diagnosis or not, it would seem their coaches and team owners would put football on the back burner and get them some help.

This is so sad. People are hating on a sick man, whom was the best at what he did until that hit. I feel really bad for him, especially because Burfict should have been out of the league long before that hit happened.
Thank you for putting together this video. Maybe some of the reporters around the world should look at AB this way.
Agree 100% about burfict. A hit like that, one offense should be a suspension for the rest of the season. Second offense should be a permanent ban. Things like that Burfict hit can only happen when a player doesnât respect his opponent or care about their well-being. I know that injuries happen in other sports, but not like this. It doesnât even happen in rugby where the players wear padded leather helmets at most. Why? Because you canât hit above the waist. Player safety is taken seriously and is baked into the rules. You want to see a safe and fundamentally sound tackle? Rugby is where l you will find it. Football is 100 years behind.
It's crazy watching that hit today. Burfict had to see that the ball wasn't caught- why the hell step into Brown for that hit? Should be embarrassed.
Honestly this was burficts most dirty hit the only other that could justify removal from the league was when he tried to twist a players ankle on purpose who had already hurt it in the game a week prior.
NFL never gets much pressure for the fact that they're still not serious about this; there's no way that he should've been in the league for at least a year or more after that
Kinda makes it easy to hate him specially the way he turned snake towards someone who has done so much for him in Brady.
Really great video, itâs crazy to see how the look in his eye changes after the concussion. He has a âdarknessâ to his eyes now.
Really heartbreaking, the old AB was awesome.
I was disgusted listening to the telecast today (jets/bucs) because the announcers just shredded AB over n over bout all his mistakes.., but they refused to even mention the dirty hits that changed him forever and precipitated all his erratic misbehavior. I guess the NFL might not like that. Sellouts
On a side note, how many times has burfict been involved with some bs? Seen him try to intentionally hurt players many times in his career
That's why they finally kicked his punk ass out of the league
It's weird because my mom says the same thing about Cam Newton. He took a bad hit years ago in-game and experienced a concussion. She watches a lot of football and continuously told me that Cam had never been the same since that particular game (his play and his personality off-field). I never gave it much thought. I thought she was overreacting, now I'm not so certain.
People don't realize how common CTE is among football players. The vast majority of them have it before they even enter the league. Every hit you take just compounds it further.
I can see a future where football will be made illegal within the next couple of decades.
Who else was shocked this was made in 2020?
They need to add todays events to this. Taking off his shirt and gloves throwing it into the crowd mid game.
He has CTE. Itâs clear. People say itâs just cause heâs cocky, and he always has been cocky to a certain extent. But the behavioral difference between 2010-2016 to 2016-2021 is drastic. He hasnât been the same since the burfict hit, the worst hit heâs ever taken. And thatâs only one hit in the long list of concussions heâs had as a football player. When 60 minutes releases the episode on him when heâs dead, itâll be shown how severe his CTE was at that time. Once he was the best receiver in the game, now heâs just a rich clown. He could of definitely made a real run after Jerry Rice's receiving records. AB was an exceptional route runner and had great speed and could get that separation from CB's. At the end of the day AB had only AB to blame.
Thanks for the video. Such a humane way of showing the reality of these situations.
Very informative balanced work. Good job! Thanks.
Biggest problem to me is the NFL just gets a pass on this; there's no way that guy should've been playing for at least a year or two after that if not permanently out. He was a nice guy until after a vicious deliberate hit
Agreed, I don't like how just playing a sport and having a uniform on gives people the right to commit literal crimes.
That hit definitely changed him I remember watching that game to he was out cold. But havenât heard about him much in the last year so hopefully he is fighting it and doing good with the bucs
Yes, he's been away from self inflicted sports drama so it seems he's gotten ahold of himself, or his team (personal and the buccs) are keeping him out of trouble.
Until today
Its hard to believe how this happened, and he says that he does not have cte but its clear that the actions he had taken post burfict hit didn't come out of no where. But he went from a nice guy, and a responsible guy to being a criminal/crazy person. But I don't think people should be saying that he is a bad human because he is the exact opposite, but his brain basically makes him a bad human. I know he is trying to get signed rn but I just hope he dosen't for his own safety because you saw what happened to other people with severe cases of cte, for example, Aaron Hernandez committed suicide and it turned out he had a bad case of cte. That's the reason I'm worried for him trying to get signed again, also he will be in the public spot which could cause more trouble. But I wish AB nothing but the best.
I see, alot of AB fans want him to get back into the game and onto a team. It's a refreshing point of view to not want him to return to the game.
@@bhb7406 I wish it would be safe for him, but in reality if he gets signed and plays for more years he could get seriously physically and mentally injured. Idk if you count the brain as physically getting injured or both.
@@deeplays9494 yea, I counted the physical which would lead into the mental. Such as physical concussion leading into mental CTE down the line
he's currently one of the best receivers and the league and a champion. U guys were wrong đ

3 years and im finally getting this video in my recomendations lol. very solid work though my guy was interested the whole way through
I recall seeing him on Dancing with the Stars and thinking he was a very low key guy, soft spoken, but his eyes always looked "wrong" or "odd" to me. I kept thinking he was high or on drugs or something. I never knew he had a head injury like that. So sad!
people were making fun of him i hated it. no one knows how bad mental issues can make people do stupid stuff ive had bad temper problems for a while i would break stuff i even broke my car window by kicking it. then i started taking all my anger out on social media started being like a cyber bully i made a lot of people depressed and lost a lot of people as friends as well. im starting to get better but man i felt so empty like i couldnt get any of my school and grinding done. i hate living with anger issues and i get obsessive and compulsive and am like obsessed with fighting people. im trying to change myself and be a better person just like ab everyone deserves second chances. whenever ur down at the lowest in ur life dont take it out on other people and dont be afraid to ask for help. God bless
good to hear your story bro, I hope you find your way through this
Well put together video.
Know Iâm late but nice video, seems some time went into. As for AB, it really is sad to see the almost clear effects itâs had/possibly even having to this day on him.
thanks man, I appreciate it.
Yes, AB seems to really be affected by the long term effects of CTE and I hope he can simple be happy now and in the future.
i remember seeing the hit watching that game with my mom, who is a steelers fan. we bother went "oooh that's dirty" at the same time, and my little like 9 or 10 year old brain couldn't comprehend how bad that hit was, especially never having played football. but i remembered it. it was the first time i saw someone get a concussion. I saw AB do that thing on redzone today against the jets and my mind instantly went back to this hit. concussions are no joke man. another one i remember was clint frazier suffering one in braedenton Florida during spring training a while ago. he has vision issues this year and wasn't the same. he performed poorly, but he ended up spending most of this season in the injured list for dizziness or vision problems idk. yanees mismanaged his injury and i hope his career gets better with the cubs, and i certainly hope it wasn't as bad of an effect on him as Burfect's hit was on AB
I was thinking the same thing--that dirty hit by Burfict really changed his career. One of many cheap shots by Burfict. I wish the NFL would get those cheap shot artists out of the league.

Great video brother đ€
I remember watching that game, he literally got hit by a truck straight to the dome
Great video!! Nice work
Yes sir, thank you my guy
i agree 100%! glad finally someone else sees this. i just mentioned this on a comment on another video regarding ABâs latest meltdown. itâs sad man and that hit definitely changes the axis of his mental state i truly believe that! Get well AB man!
How a person is treated after an incident of such magnitude can easily result in drastic changes in attitude ~ CTE or no #CTE. I had an experience that really "opened my eyes" AND I acted much differently afterwards. What is truely important and not important to me is now much clearer. I wish AB everything he is seeking AND hope it makes him ultimately peaceful and content! Organizations that are primarily (possibly solely) Driven by đ°đ°đ° probably expect their employees to accept whatever comes their way while they "Wear the company uniform". I put a small piles of đ on his claims being more correct than the League/Big Media want us to know. #ThatIsAll #KeepErMovin
Its crazy because, If you just look at his eyes he looks like a completely different person before and after.

Crazy this popped up on my feed. Still relevant to the day. Get better AB
You have opened my eyes
I never knew he got hit. I was always wondering what happened. I used to love him. Now I know. Even though he playin on the buccs with Brady he will always be a steeler to me.
sucks what happened to ur steelers dude. That first quarter start was one of the worst beginnings to a game a team could have. Legit if yall just conceived 14 instead of 28, im confident u guys win that game.

Prayers for the Man đđœ give your life to the sport from a kid, and see him deteriorate right before our eyes.
Holy crap you can see it in the eyes. It's like two different people.
Good video my man
Here after AB quit against the Jets in the 3rd quarter
I know Iâm late to this party but I definitely see some issues with his behavior. Always was a standout standup guy on the Steelers, something in him flipped. His composure back then compared to obvious recklessness certainly is mental and alarming. Prayers up
Watching him do interviews and stuff from years ago is so jarring cause it's completely not how he acts now.
AB making fun of Shannon Sharpe was a good chuckle, Unc keeps it real and got nothing but respect for him.
Bruh yall noticed his speech started to change
As a Bengals fan, what has happened to Mr. Brown is an absolute tragedy. I'm disgusted that we had dirty player like Burfict on our team. I hope Brown gets the help he needs.
We don't claim you, we miss Burfict.
I completely agree with your point AB was one of the most humble, reserved, and respectful players in football before that hit, he was always a class act. It was sad to see him spiral out of control like that and people just wanted to act like he always like that.
Whose here after the PBD podcast?
You got a point
it's still a shame tho đ
And this why they giving him another chance to enter the league cuz deep down they know their wrong and he probably can whip up a lawsuit against the league
Yeah well look at him now... he's definitely back to his older self. Sometimes we all need an ego check and perhaps he had a reality check
he's currently one of the best receivers and the league and a champion. U guys were wrong đ
Its actually really sad. It's not funny to diss AB. He was one of the best receivers we've ever seen and it's unfortunate this happened. Hopefully he can get right.
Especially because it wasnât just a normal head injury burfict was just a scumbag his entire career.
Who is here after watching PBD podcast w AB?
Daaamn! It did knock him back to between 7-9 years old! He started dressing like a kid, playin dress-up, wearing costumes, reacting like a child. Its crazy.
Good insight. Thanks for posting. My heart and prayers go out to Anthony Brown. I hope he keeps trucking. God's got a future for him still.
I have thought this for a couple years and just now saw this video. As a big time wrestling fan and an nfl fan I really hope AB gets some help. So many ex wrestlers and some ex nfl players have died way too young from cte related illnesses and suicide.
This hit changed his career, he was never the same after this as a football player and a person.
You deserve one million subscribers
Thanks homie đ€. Means alot
He got hit by Burfict in the head again in 2018 it was then when he really went into a downhill spiral.
The hit was actually back in 2016

Investing at 46k đđđ This year old video is about to blow up after AB threw the ultimate TEMPER TANTRUM and walked off the field bareback while play was still going on đ
Crazy to think this video was posted 2 years agoâŠ. man is off the rails rn
I never played football, but have had numerous concussions from boxing, car wrecks, and other wreckless behavior. My short term memory is shot, and I absolutely get agitated quickly. CT scans showed that my brain does not function how a normal brain should. This man has been traumatized by the sport. I hope he can find some sort of relief off the field. He deserves it.
I think that hit effected him. People said he had problems behavior wise before. That may be true, but watching these interviews and IAM Athlete recently. Before the hit he articulated and enunciated his words better with less stutter and pauses.
