His country suffered a wave of bombings 25 years ago and learned the hard way to preserve its sovereignty. And over the past decades, it has formed an ironclad and enduring bond with China. In this edition of Leaders Talk, CMG's Wang Guan sits down with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade to take stock of the China-Serbia ties. He also envisions the future as both countries have just signed a Free Trade Agreement fostering bilateral economic ties and with a potential broader impact in the region. President Vučić praises China for being supportive and reliable in difficult times and rejects the "debt trap" narrative peddled by some Western countries as Chinese businesses have heavily invested in Serbia. "It's not about the money, it's about governance," he says, underscoring China's ability to come up with innovative solutions. President Vučić also invites Chinese people to visit Serbia to experience the real European hospitality. He looks forward to more people-to-people exchanges between China and Serbia in the future.

You must be joking! As a Serb (you probably are too) I can tell you that Serbia is under the occupation by the West. The same Vucic gave away Kosovo, sold out the national resources, completely controls media, etc. and all of that by the directives from the western countries. It’s not what he says but what he does. He is a corrupt leader who tells fairy tales.

Does Serbia and Serbians really like China and Chinese, or is it mainly because of shared geopolitical interests?
Would Serbians still like Chinese if it was the superppwer in Europe and didn't need China to defend itself?
In other words, racism. Many European countries pretend to be non racist but at the first sign of trouble or disagreement, you hear all their true feelings and words like "go home ch*nk/g**k" get spoken.
Don't get me wrong. I've never been to serbia or even Europe. But I've seen and heard of many such stories and instances of such racism and discrimination against ethnic Chinese and Asians in Europe. Same as in USA. After COVID, many Americans started showing their true colors with not just racist comments, but actual racist hate crimes like sneaking up from behind and then bashing women and grandparents for no reason and even shooting up their stores like that mass shooting at an Asian hairdressers. IIRC it wasn't even Chinese but viet. Same with the bashings. Most weren't even Chinese but to those racists, every Asian is Chinese.
Lastly, I am just asking. I have nothing against Serbians and Serbia, and I hope that China and Serbia can continue good relations into thr future, even if there are some racist serbians or racist Chinese.

    - sending their own Serbian civilian and military space satellites
    - a Baido / GPS of Serbian version
    - other further space research and explorations
    As for military aspects:
    - further development of Serbian air defense complex in cooperation with China.
    - at least a fleet of J10C multirole fighter jets - a very practical in price and the effectiveness as it can cover the land territory of Serbia.

I drove with the new train 5 months ago, it was good in terms of speed. But I was shocked and sad at the same time. I remember how traveling with a train was back in the 90s and 2000s, it was a ADVENTURE EVERY SINGLE TIME! People were having a party on these trains, you always would get to know new people, everyone was chatting. But now...A cultural shock! Literally EVERYONE was freaking staring on their phones except 2-3 people, I hate it. Technology is good ONLY if it's not a reason for degrading the social aspect! It's catastrophic

    • @Tomislavr7
      @Tomislavr7 Před 3 měsíci +4

Should Global south countries create sanction free zones? Much like tax-free zones? All personnel will never visit sanction-friendly countries. Much like most Americans never travel outside their country.
Will it help democracies act like sovereign countries again? If they do visit they can be charged and cost those governments money to imprison them.

I would like Serbia and China to have friendly relations. If the Chinese would build bridges by which Serbia would reach its historical borders, i.e. Dubrovnik and Dalmatia. That Serbia exports goods to China by sea through its ports on the Adriatic. That Chinese ships come to Serbian ports on the Adriatic Sea. et cetera.

This is what I love to see from leaders and politics. Just down to earth, honest discussion with the intent of improving their country and both peoples livss.
No need to play political games or mind games, no need for ego or zero sum thinning like one country needs to dominate the other or make others subservient. Just need to have win win cooperation and zero force or coercion. If either side does not want to do it, then that's fine. Move on and work on something that is win win and both sides benefit. No need to fund opposition and so called NGO's with the intent to divide and conquer, or to topple the gov or even destroy the country economically or physically with bimbs like what happened to Korea, Vietnam, laos, Cambodia, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Cuba, Ukraine, and of course, SERBIA/Yugoslavia and many many others that has and west have decided dl not deserve to exist and would like to destroy those countries just because they have a leader they don't like or a country that is not subservient to US interests.
Serbia seems to have a great leader/statesman and hopefully Serbia can develop as fast as China has in the last 7 decades. Which is 100% doable since Serbia is not a big country like China and if China can do it, why not Serbia. Serbia is just the size/population of like a tier 3-4 city in China, and China has developed such cities/counties dozens of times already in just the last 2-3 decades alone. It will be easy for China to help develop another as well, even if it's from scratch like how some cities and regions in china was still poorer and less developed than Africa even just 3 decades ago. And now those cities are modern and developed into first tier cities that have eclipsed the most famous urban cities in the world like NYC, LA, Paris, London etc. The sky is the limit, as long as both sides want it.
May Sino-Serb relations continue to develop and may both countries continue to prosper and develop as fast as possible for the people and worlds benefit. May serbia be the shining beacon on the hill and set the example for what European cooperation with China can do for Europe in terms of development and prosperity for the common man in Serbia and Europe, and NOT just the elites and billionaires. The steel mill, train system etc, as well as military cooperation has proven that to be true so far and I hope it continues.

The difference between this interview and western mainstream media interview, this interview is asking questions and letting people talk and give statements. Western mainstream media doesn’t ask but makes bias statements and demand a manipulative answer. One exception is Tucker Carlson now not before

Do you know why BlackRock (ie. the American multinational investment company; Collective Vest) and official Kyiv are grateful to Serbia? Do you know why exporting domestic and importing foreign grain to Serbia is a lucrative business? Do you know that if you ask something, then you have to know what it is about, in order to ask the question correctly, that is, to understand the interlocutor?
