I genuinely thought that I never had watched the secret life of pets 2, cause i didn’t think it was that good, but once you explained the plot as vaguely as possible, I managed to remember every piece of the movie you talked about. I remembered walking in the living room, about to watch it with my family, and then the next memory of the movie was the credits. It was THAT forgettable, that i thought that i never watched it for 3+ years.

Honestly, I can't say that despicable me is bad. The movie has a simple yet exciting and fun plot, the characters are all fairly likable, with only a couple exceptions, the bond between Gru and the girls feels genuine, their emotional beats have actual weight to them, and the climax genuinely has stakes. Yeah, its not perfect, but its still pretty good and a lot of fun.

After watching them again recently, I can say that all the despicable me and minions movies are actually better than you’d think, they’re pretty okay and the reason we don’t like minions becomes a lot less clear when you stop hating minions and realize they aren’t that bad

I personally don't like the minions movies because I think they are cheap, pandering, shallow, and greedy, but that's me. I can't say how you should like them because I'm not you.
I think Secret Life of Pets 2 should’ve at least be put in C or B tier. D tier that’s lower than Minions was a little unfair, tbh. But again, it his just his opinion.

Honestly Despicable Me 1 was a genuinely good movie to me; it was before Illumination realized they didn’t need to try to make money.

I remember Hop exists, I don't remember Secret Life 2. Granted, I never remember that Hop is Illumination, because it's not animated like they always do, but I still remember it over Secret Life 2.

@@TheDanishGuyReviews I kind of enjoyed both Pets 2 and Hop equally, but I agree that they both could’ve been a lot better instead of just being safe/mediocre entertainment for kids. Pets 2 especially could’ve had more nonstop action and emotional moments instead of being just white noise for an 1hr and 26 minutes.

Watching Hop felt like a fever dream; the whole plot and how it was executed was extremely wacky and goofy. Man, even the ending made me feel emotions I can’t describe. Truly one of the movies of all time.

The worst thing about the lorax is that it potentially had everything it needed to perfectly tell the message, but due to meddling, they forced the messages out.
Thankfully, the scrapped songs were still put into the soundtrack and it makes the movie even worse by comparison

Sing was one of my favourite illumination films, and thats coming from someone who isnt really into films that involve a lot of singing. The whole premise of the film is a singing competition, however, its much more than just a competition to the characters. Johnny is by far my favourite of the characters from the film. And the second film is a rare example of a sequel that is also as good as the first one. I genuinely loved the performances in the second film, mostly johnny and ashely/calloway. Thats my opinion anyway

I liked the first Despicable Me movie when it first came out. The first movie plot is more memorable than the second or third or any other movie related and I really like it to this day. Probably the best Illumination movie. I actually liked the minions idea in the movie, but after the first movie, it only declined with minions becoming popular cashgrabs and being so annoying to see right now.

No joke, my girlfriend was more excited for the second minions movie than Thor: Love and Failure. Hell, she had one hell of a blast when we watched Minions 2 while I was just miserable, begging for the sweet relief of death.

I honestly agree, I think sing 2 is better because they use amazing songs like "It coulda been me" That song is powerful and very upbeat. Especially when Porsha sang it. It also hinted when she said "I can't hear you, I don't fear you" that she was speaking to her father.
Same, went to watch sing 2 as a joke but wasn't bad actually. There's a scene where they're on the bus or van or whatever, and the song that was playing caught my attention. Thats how i found out about mercury rev, worth watching just for that lol
i liked them too! i've seen Sing when it came out in theaters so i may be biased, but for me it was cute, i was vibing the entire time and i like the characters' dynamics. and we all gotta admit, the animation and the environments in the sequel are incredible.

@@Kanata_Satou honestly the kung-fu subplot was a so-so filler. Wasn't really necessary but it somehow helped in the end? They did not had to make whole scenes for that and instead could've slapped a training montage or something of the sorts. That's my opinion to be honest.
adding to my previous comment, they could've named the movie something like "The Rise of Gru" instead of making it "Minions 2: The Rise of Gru" and honestly it would've been better.

Don't get your hopes up. We still haven't seen the plot or writing of the film yet. I am gonna be cautiously optimistic that it's despicable me 1 levels of quality because I really want it to succeed since I like the Mario franchise and I really think Nintendo will make sure it's good

Watching Hop again, I have one question; how is the chicken the villain?
The dude works day in and day out for the Easter bunny, and clearly deserves the job more than the spoiled brat bunny who wants nothing to do with the business.
The only reason I even see him become evil is because of his treatment from the Easter bunny. I think the movie even realized this in the end when the human character becomes the easter furry for no real reason at all.

Dude, whenever someone says a movie is forgettable, I tend to disagree with this because I can at the very least remember what happened, but I literally forgot that secret life of pets 2 existed, let alone what happened
I watched the movie and forgot after two hours
It’s kind of more of a streaming movie and I honestly am disappointed because I was extremely excited that the movie could’ve had more emotional/exciting moments in the movie. But of course the writers played it safe. Here’s to hoping that if they make a Secret Life of Pets 3, they would actually take risks and make it geared more towards adults than kids and have more action, emotional moments, and violence (obviously it doesn’t have to be R-rated).
It’s understandable why it’s forgettable because hardly anything happened in the movie. Pets 2 isn’t bad, but it definitely could’ve been so much better.

Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God.
Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

Thats not how the grinch went. The grinch hated chismas, so he stole Christmas but cindy loo trapped him because she thought he was santa. She wanted santa (or the grinch) to help her mom. She told him when you close your eyes and listen to the song on chismas, all your sadness wil go away. And when the grinch did it his heart grew 2 times bigger. So he gave back the presents and had chismas dinner at cindy Loo's house
I give Lorax an A since it was really fun to watch for my first few times and it had a really good storyline to it which made it good. Also had to watch it in school twice thanks to my social studies teacher for letting us watch it on the last week of school
I really don't understand why people hate it. If it is because it differs from the book then why don't they hate Disney' s Hercules too but love it instead...
@@theoharisvarnas5315 I hate it for its missed potential, through the official soundtrack and early concept art it can be seen that the movie was darker and less childish similar to the original with the cut song Biggering being on the level of hellfire from hunchback of Notre dame.

on a serious note, i love despicable me 1 and 2. the grinch and sing 2 aren’t that bad (yes somehow the sequel for sing is somehow 10x better than the original). everything else is forgettable or shit

Secret Life of Pets 2 is truly the most forgettable movie I've ever seen, until you mentioned the crazy circus man with the gun I forgot that I had even seen this movie.
It’s kind of more of a streaming movie and I honestly am disappointed because I was extremely excited that the movie could’ve had more emotional/exciting moments in the movie. But of course the writers played it safe. Here’s to hoping that if they make a Secret Life of Pets 3, they would actually take risks and make it geared more towards adults than kids and have more action, emotional moments, and violence (obviously it doesn’t have to be R-rated).

Blue Sky Studios would be interesting to break down, since they were similar to Illumination in more ways than intentionally realized (mascot from their flagship franchise, milking their said flagship franchise to death, at least 1 Dr. Suess animated adaption, at least 1 other adaption of existing media, and a overall forgettable film library), hell if anything Blue Sky was even more forgettable since at least the people that shit on Illumination are common enough to the point that it's kinda vocal, especially towards the upcoming Mario Movie.
I didn't hear too much fuss about besides their Ice Age sequels (after 3 at earliest), hell Illumination even has more memes than Blue Sky does.

Hop released when i was in middle school. I thought it would be a good idea to take my friend- now fiancée to see it... in theaters. She and I both agree and laugh at the fact that THAT was our first outing outside school.
If you feel bad about yourself, just remember that _The Lorax_ has a so-called "environment-friendly" car commercial. That's the opposite of what the message of the original story is intended for.

I actually really liked sing and although it mightve been a cash grab you can tell the animation actually had a lot of heart put into it
Personally, i think that Despicable me was underrated in this, i’d say it’s one of the most iconic illumination movies, and gru is a badass ngl. I can agree with the scores of 3 but 1 and 2 were awesome. Nonetheless this was very interesting and a good watch so thanks 😅

I actually agree with 99% of this list. Despicable Me 2 is definitely the best sequel, although Vector is probably still the best villain with El Macho as a close second.
