We're did you get the Tshirt from?
Fun fact! The opening shot was miniature models and my old job did the model work and filming for! Shoutout Stoopid Buddy Stoodios
The actual ad break after the bit about ad breaks had me dying 😂
If you think Chatterer has no soul you should listen to him play saxophone
The Creepshow episode Crystal mentioned sounds just like a Tales From The Crypt episode I remember watching when I was younger.
I enjoyed this film because you can tell the crew did their best to capture the tone of the first two. I wasn't a huge fan of this version of Pinhead-but I think it's more because Doug Bradley's version is imprinted on my brain. Maybe with time. The other weakness of this film at times was the pacing. The first film was great because it linked two stories and two worlds together through the box. The characters had more time to be defined. At times, even now, I wonder who is more frightening, the Cenobites or the human characters. Whereas this film has more of the pacing of Hellbound. A lot of the characters become more like cannon fodder. Despite all that, I enjoyed this film. I liked the Channard type character and how Leviathan is back. The film itself just felt very unsettling.
Hmmm. Wanna Eiffel?
Thank you Crystal, I also wanted a Butter Ball cameo in this
Hellraiser(2022) makes a good double feature with Evil Dead(2013). they both have a recovering addict protagonist, both involve an object(Puzzle box&Book of the dead) that unleashes demonic forces and both final girls pretty much lost everything in the end(Riley at least saved her brother's boyfriend, Mia lost everyone!). Evil Dead hits harder in the gore/practical effects department, but Hellraiser had some cool stuff going on.
Evil dead is such a good horror movie, I rewatched it other day for 1st time since it came out. Deff in my top 10.
@@itshypnotoad3717 🤘🤘🤘 it's 1 of my favorite remakes. when I 1st watched Hellraiser the night it drop, I rewatched Evil Dead after because I was reminded of it while watching Hellraiser.
Clive originally never used pinhead, he originally envisioned it as the "high priest/priestess"
Welcome to cousin Monica to Hack The Movies!
Not a trilogy of books, just 2. Hellbound Heart and Scarlet Gospels. Great video!
Too bad they squandered the Chatterer!
They did him dirty for sure
I'm not trying to be a "see you next Tuesday"...but I did want to know who Monica was. And if I'm being honest, I kinda watch this show to see what Crystal thinks. Turns out our movie taste is uncannily similar.
So...thanks for having Monica this episode and not that jerk that always talks over Crystal.
P.S. I like you too, Tony.
It was cool seeing cousin Monica in a main review. I've been watching her appearances over on Patreon.
Hellraiser(2022) is my 3rd favorite after Hellraiser 1&2. I loved the H.R. Giger designs of the Cenobites. Jamie Clayton as the Hell Priest was pretty damn cool. I'm down for a sequel if it takes the gloves off and swings for the fences.
If you ever think an episode is running short just have Crystal on to extend the run time remembering words :)
I don't think I've ever spotted more red flags on Crystal than I have on this episode.
Tony "the first ad break was when the character says you heard us #ucking?" Then they play the clip and throw an ad break there themselves. Its the ring diaper move all over again. I see you. Bravo.
Love that the first add roll in this is the exact same time it was in the movie. Well done
did anyone noticed the voiceover? I dont know why but through the movie I had a feeling that every dialog was recorded after the movie was filmed, like a voiceover for a foreign film
Awesome movie. Seemed to me that they understood there was no way to please everyone, no matter what they did. Even Doug Bradley loved Jamie Clayton as the Hell Priest. She was phenomenal and was exactly like "The Hellbound Heart" described the character. Bravo. In my opinion. The story is close to me because the first two movies were the first couple times I was truly horrified as a kid.
I liked the little bits between ads when they talked about hellraiser.
Why are Johanna and Crystal not allowed in the same building anymore?
Good to see Monica on the main channel! How come you aren't putting pens in my pen holder? =>
Awesome video guys. Really made me excited to watch it
Its pretty cool that they made a whole movie based off that one rick and morty episode
Jamie Clayton was awesome as Pinhead. This movie was so respectful to the lore, and you can tell that they really wanted to tell a good Hellraiser story.
No… nothing stood out except for the pinhead makeup and effects. The voice was trash and there wasn’t one monologue or any line of dialogue from pinhead that I remember. The movie itself was pretty good though.
That’s too bad. I remember every scene. My favorite is when Riley chooses Lament. Pinhead being confused by her decision is so friggin cool. The dialogue is chefs kiss.
I really enjoyed it. I liked how they changed the lore up a little bit but still kept some of the same elements. I love Jamie Clayton’s Pinhead but I wanted to see more of the other Cenobites. Specially The Mother you saw her come out once and then never again. And regardless of how you feel about the movie I think we can all agree it is leagues better than Revelations 😂😂
Jamie Clayton was great, and I hope to see her again in future installments. but this movie didn't respect the Lore at all. "It is not Hands that call us, but Desire" this movie tried to reinvent the wheel at every turn. New uses for the box, new configurations, a new way to ressurect people, new rules for the cenobites. it completely changed the magic system on a fundamental level, and worked top down to insert lip service to the original themes.
My sentiments exactly! ‘22 is best the one in the franchise. I love 1&2, and can tolerate 3&4, but 22 just streamlined the mythology in such a caring way. IMHO.
Lazarus-Syndrome, The:
Listening to one of the most beautiful Porcupine Tree songs over and over.
Judgment was pretty good. I remember listening to an interview with the director. Very passionate about the film
Yeah I found myself actually really enjoying that movie, it was very low budget but didn't feel like that detracted too much from it.
Chatterer eating a cob of corn 🌽😬
😂
I knew Trevor was marking Riley from the start....i didn't know he was in with the rich guy. I figured he had opened the box off camera and they told him to pick others to feed the box with.
Thats Chatterbox....in the 90's comic, it was revealed that he was a human infant when the Cenobites changed him. Just the thought of that is pretty disturbing. Butterball was from 3 i think?
That island of misfit Cenobites idea is genius... y'all HAVE to do it as a skit.
Never mess with a strange shaped box.
Get a trauma patient or recovering addict to do it for you...
Especially if someone asks you to put a finger or two inside it... anything might happen...
I love the 3rd Hellraiser. It has nothing to do with the source material but, it has some of the best kills. The victim with the chains in the emergency room...i love that one and the DJ that gets attacked by his disc collection 😂
Then theres that part where the survivors try to take refuge in a church. A Christian priest first claims that there are no mosters (a known death sentence in horror films)....then he tries to banish the cenobites with a cross.....the best part, Pinhead quotes Scripture back at the priest and charges him with putting his faith in a craven, idol (a sin by Christian dogma). The cross melts and fuses his hand into a clump of flesh and molten metal.
The coup de gras, is when he pulls 2 pins, with maggots out if his head, inserts them into his hands, poses like Jesus, while standing at an altar and says, "I am the way"! I fell to the floor laughing the first time i saw it....i was like 7 or 8😂
WPIX out of NYC used to be called Channel 11 with the Twin Towers as their stylized "11". They would run a Halloween promo every year, called Shocktober....they'd do all the Freddy's one week, followed by Jason and then Michael Myers. The last week of the promo, would be a grab bag...i remember Night of the Scarecrow and the Blob (80's version) and the Return of the Living Dead part 1 and 2.... before those sequels turned to shit. This was my intro to a lot of....what I now consider, classic horror....like Night of the Creeps....ya, that was another last week of Shocktober movie.
Awesome shirt, Crystal.
Worms on the pins? I always thought these things are small parts of his brain.
1:27:28 classic tony just calling everyone out 😆👌🏽
Just booked tickets to see the OG Hellraiser at a Q & A screening with a couple of the cenobite actors.
Yup had the problem where the lighting is too dark
Pinehead scared me as a kid also😂😂😂
I think it's cute when Crystal mispronounces words. ☺️
Tony's shirt should say "I'm with Bonehead"
Johanna looking hella cute this episode
Chatterer was like "GG bro" and I think Riley was the sole "winner" Pinhead allowed Voight to exchange his gift not just straight up allow him to give it up
It’s not a bad remake, but I do miss the leather component to the cenobites. It just goes so well with the chains and hooks.
Well, they DO wear skin ...
So funny to me... I live in Miami and frequent the Gay Scene a lot... When I saw the trailer I thought.... "Gee, that guy looks like a Boy Toy/Hustler".... And I was right!
I thought the same and I’m not even gay!
Dammit, Jessica! Lol
Mary's original surname is Wollstonecraft.
Jeez. 🤣
Just realized the reason I know Dave Goyim is “the Unborn”
I have the same exact Pinhead doll. I also have Freddy Krueger and The Crow.
Was super meh. Previous films (hellraiser 2 aka the only other good one) made it clear cenobites are aware if someone is being used to open the box and they go after the person with the actual intent.
I have those comics you were reading back in the day.
I'd also play with box upon command 📦👀
Crystal is such a problem 😂
thats a tales from the crypt episode crystal lol
@crystalquinn no one would wake up after embalming 😂
Tell that to zombies....you never know!
@@Crystalquin All right, you make a pretty good point.
Tony I gotta say I love how you get your friends and family involved in your videos.
i think the box seller knew about the box and what it did. Voights journal kinda makes it clear you don't need to get a gift or sacrifice people to learn about cenobites or their world. The box guy tells her that it's not to be taken lightly. He probably already fucked with it and stopped or chose lament and was like 'not doing that again'
also I had no problem seeing anything watching it on my computer monitor/tv, it wasn't anything like AVP requiem
Crystal needs Hooked on Phonics
I love Crystal . If we lived together I would cook for her everyday.
Yeah it did seem like a cheat move to sacrifice the chatterer, due to them being demonic creatures with no human/living soul to consume...but the rules are loose sometimes. It always seemed like the Cenobites could sniff out sins and would prey on or entice outstanding souls, they are called by the box and blood sends them back. Lots of wiggle room with the details and Pinhead always toys with the humans. The transformation of the Cenobite reminds me of 1) out of body DMT experiences with the light auras and 2) creation of an arch angel, fulfilling voights delusion of angelic beings with otherworldly powers. The golden slab representing the halo and wings of humanoid angels. Maybe the next movie will try an depict a clive barke style "bible accurate" golden rings with eyes entities.
Looking forward to Tony's upcoming Bible reading channel.
Tony Tony Tony from the depths from hell from Hell of this movie from witch it came.. you deserve more subs your channel is so underrated 😔
yay to see Crystal back 🥰😍🔥!! cool shirt as well miss Crystal!! also as for Hellraiser (2022) was pretty good and Jamie Clayton was awesome as Pinhead. 8/10 from me the rest of the cast was just ok lol and I can't wait for the sequel that we know they will announce sooner or later!
Crystal wasn't actually thinking of Creepshow; the guy overdosing a woman on a voodoo love potion was actually one of my favorite episodes of Tales From The Crypt!
I would willingly follow Hell Priestess to a Hell dimension.
omg a 5 min hellraiser would be so cool
I just got a new Vizio 65 HD 4k TV and that shit was dark at the end. It was really dark.
It was pretty good. If they do a sequel I hope they get to explore hell like in Hellbound. The brief glimpses we got of it looked cool.
Speaking of weird things being said during sex... I watched Zombeavers last night. This guy said "I feel like a power ranger!" 😂
Grimcutty? It was okay lol
I think I have that same Pinhead doll. Does it have a motion sensor and talk?
I loved bloodline! 😍
Those were Roxies old uninteresting girl was taking
Did anyone else notice the gloves worn in 4 for the robot touching the cube had legos on the right hand??? They used Legos 😂😅
It was really cool when CZcams dropped an Applebee's ad right when you guys were complaining about Applebee's ads - This also happened when you guys were talking about Doctor Strange. CZcams's smart
Looks like Tony has brought in a fresh soul to the HACK THE HELLRAISER collective.
This movie is great. The lore of these movies are fantastic. Definitely give it a chance
i really wanted to like this new one, i wanted it to be good, but i fell asleep around one hour and a half and watched the rest the next day, very slow paced and boring. the cenobites were absolutely hilarious and bland. when the wheeze started running i just lost it. when i saw the pregnant one i was expecting it to shoot out a horrific baby or something, but nothing happened. the skin suits look very uninspired or maybe just poorly executed. some frames looked good, it had some potential, but ultimately fell flat. for me it's this year's biggest disappointment.
Loved the designs of the new cenobites. Not sure the whole female pinhead was necessary, it seems like all that did was give the actress a big shadow to try and come out from under and distract from her performance. Pinhead is Doug Bradley. Give Jamie a new character with a new name to make her own
But people would be nearly as pissed if the Hell Priest wasn’t there, all iconic roles get recast with time…
The look was good but the voice and whole character overall kinda sucked. Really like the film though.
@@scottneil1187 pinhead wasnt in it. That wasnt pinhead. That was a hand me down pinhead. She did an amazing job, no reason she had to have a hand me down character to do it
@@patient_6925 Wasn't a hand me down character.
@@gregevigan totally was. Doug bradley is pinhead. Giving his character to someone else is a hand me down
9:15 did Monica mean V/H/S the movie or VHS the format?
Crystal episodes are the best episodes
lmfao did Jessica edit this video if so lol the cut in for the movie that Tony couldn't remember from hulu was funny 🤣😂🤣👌! Jess 😍!
Yeah! Crystal is best co-host!
@55:58 for a sec that looked like a tattoo on her neck.
current theory goes that all gepards survived from 2 last animals because their genetics are super weak
You think that with the font they used for the title and Leviathan's need for law and order....is he.....is he Dick Wolf? DUN DUN
39:12 If it's causing discomfort there, you might possibly not be wearing it properly.
The movie itself is alright,
Jamie clayton on the other hand is phénoménal in the role.
My Samsung TV played it super dark.
I really liked this version of Pinhead.
Not as much as Doug Bradley but she was creepy.
The mansion as a safe haven was a cool idea, too.
I'm glad it ended there and not somewhere else.
Plus they brought back the Chatterer cenobyte. It was cool to see that.
I feel the gettin up to make coffee during the reboot tho. So much of it is SO BLAND AND ROTE AND BORING. Most kills are blurry or entirely offscreen. We spend most of the time w the annoying addict lead who can never tell whats real. Its high ranking in terms of Hellraiser sequels but nothing to write home about
It was brains on the ends of pins hellraiser 3
I got to watch Hellraiser and didn't get no commercials on Hulu
No Tony. Hell isn't done with the leather daddy look for the cenobites. It's just that this time, they wear human leather of themselves. 😅
Good effects. Beautiful puzzle box. Grotesque cenobites. Great Priest. But a disappointing film. Lackluster narrative and characters. Predictable plot points. It's pretty, but superficial. (In my unimportant view, it's not good, but still is the third best Hellraiser film).
The only things I didn't like are nitpicks. The movie is really dim to look at. Their friend who's killed outside the mansion just kind of shows up in the movie to get killed. And I think twenty minutes or so could've been cut from the end to make it go by a little smoother. I liked that the characters went through the movie trying to solve a mystery instead of being a slasher movie like the original. It was different enough. And I liked the twist on Voight's character.
thats kinda sad that a lackluster film is the 3rd best. Like 9 hellraiser films exist. ive seen like 4
I was gonna say your cousin was cute, but then I found out she loved Hellraiser 4……never so glad not to patreon! :p
HEY!
Stay on point people this was hellraiser not everything else
I don't mean to make Crystal feel bad about her "speech thing," but at 52:31 she gifted us with this little gem: "So, this is where I went down the rattle hole, when I saul the drawlings..."
same reactionaries who whine about Rings of Power and lore also complain about Pinheads gender
Bad weather is the best time for crime because the police don't like the rain either
I’ve never watched Hellraiser/s until I watched this. I then watched maybe 6 of them before I even allowed myself to watch this review….. I liked the new 1 the most, but it easily made more sense than any of the rest
The pills were the addiction, that’s why she had them hidden n not alcohol. Also why she admitted to drinking early in the movie
is this why everyone was tomato faced in the beginning @ 34:18 to much talking about playing with your box?
This film sucked balls with pins in! The special FX sucked! The acting sucked, it wasn't at all scary or creepy and it looked like it was made for TV. I can understand how people are saying this is their third favourite in the series but the bar is so incredibly low that really isn't saying much.
