The Zs intentions were never directed towards straight raw speed and hp. I think to this day the Z34 is very quick but it really comes to life on a track, especially the Nismo spec
Yo Danny if you hold down the unlock button for like 10 seconds the windows roll down. Do it before you get into the car to let some heat out 👌
The stock Z leaves a bit to be desired in terms of raw speed, but the sheer number of aftermarket bolt ons makes up for it. Just putting on a good exhaust, high flow air filters and throttle spacers can add quite a bit of power, plus you can add on headers, tunes and ported intakes if you wish. Still, I think the Z is a car that's more about competing with yourself than anything else. As fun as racing can be, nothing is as fun as to me as being alone on the backroads driving like a maniac through the woods.
i drive a 2015 mustang gt. if we were closer i would def let you drive it. even as a mustang owner I've always loved 350/370 z's. i usually keep an eye out for a high mileage one just to have as a toy. mustang and a 350z would be a do able " dream garage" lol

The thing is a lot of people underestimate 370z’s. They’re faster than they think they are. I’ve raced a friend of mine’s 2014 5.0 Mustang with an intake and exhaust with my 370Z. I always pulled on him first and walk slowly but after the long run he starts creeping back up. It’s still really impressive since my car makes 308 wheel horsepower. 370z’s weren’t made for straight line racing but more for cornering and hard acceleration. I drove my friend’s mustang and honestly felt like it was gonna flip over going around a corner compared to my car. The whole point is, 370Z’s are not slow for 2018.

Ron Don And maybe you’re right? I’ll admit the 370Z is getting old. Doesn’t mean you can belittle someone’s opinion on their car because there’s other cars out there that’s faster. It’s almost 10 years old but the fact that it’s still able to keep up with these SRT’s, 5.0’s, and Camaro SS’, if not barely any faster, that’s already impressive enough for a V6. But hey, it’s all personal preference when it comes to choosing a car.

370z are quick for what they are, plus if you mod them they can really hang with a lot of v8’s look up the more voltage 370z and it’s an auto that thing is beating a lot cars

I have a 2012 touring sport that I put a stillen exhaust on. The hp to gas mileage ratio on this car impresses me especially considering how old the engine design is.

370z doesn't need to be as fast as the other cars in straight lines. First, it is really fast on track, where it's coming up to corner speed, and second it is damn sexy compared to all others. Much love from Germany from a 370z Nismo owner. 8-)

Hey Danny, GREAT VIDIO. I had a 2008 350Z roadster, then 2009 370Z Sport Coup. Currently I drive my 2015 370 Roadster sport Touring. All very nice cars! ❤️. Them all. My Fav. For sure is my 2015 Roadster. It’s Def. faster than my 350Z . My 2009 370 sport coup was faster than the others.

My 350z Nismo gaps 2011 and down SS camaros. I think it’s pretty quick. For my Nismo being an 08, I do believe it’s outdated on horsepower. But I would never trade it for any V8 or muscle car. Very happy with the 346 horse power under my hood :)

Trey De la Garza it’s all on the tunner and your mods. I have upgraded my fuel system to higher injectors with 2 fuel pumps on e85 and cams, & with fbo. It’s not too hard. Everyone else just prefers to go turbo or super charged.
Fasting Media no need to upgrade fuel system to support an extra 20-30hp.

Fasting Media no need to run E85 unless you want max power on boost. It's a useless mod in my opinion unless you need to support 400+ at the wheel.

All 350z are slow unless modded with FBO/boost. All 2012 and up stock 370z are slow due to extra weight and paddle shift removal in autos. All stock manual 370z are slow no matter how good you are. FBO 7AT 370z 2009-2011 are retardly fast. Nismo doesnt mean shit either just means its fatter
I have a 2015 and had a 2009 for a short period of time it may sound like BS but I can tell a noticeable difference in acceleration over the 2009.

370z is fast stock... 12.7s is the quarter mile record on stock everything even tires... if you cant get under 13.4s youre just not a sifficient driver. A 392 Charger record is 12.6s... just to put that into perspective... thats a 2009 v6 vs a 2018 v8... and theyre almost identical
0-60 in 5 seconds flat. Doesn't sound slow to me unless you daily a GTR lol

I picked a 2009 7AT 370z specifically for its speed and lighter build. Mine weighs in at 3,083lbs with no gutting. Adding Saul's UpRev tune with FBO made my Z into a N/A fuckin monster. It shifts instaneously and destroys v8s all the way until its 186ishmph unlimited top speed... so just imagine with a lil boost 😏

Don't pull a "Family Crusin" DannyZ. Just a suggestion to save you possble litigation later down the road. You could just be building a case for yourself down the road, if something does happen. You are pretty smart, I'm sure you can figure out other ways to pull in subscribers. Besides that, keep up the awesome content.
You seem to be in Florida? Out West we have hills, twisting roads, mountain roads, and the 370Z does great in that setup. I usually don't push it too hard, because I have a Roadster with paddle shifters, but honestly, once you adjust to paddle shifting, you can fly. I used to have a manual 350Z Enthusiast, while you feel connected to the manual a bit more, when you get older, you don't really want to push in the clutch 1000 times just to pass through Sacramento, the Bay, or LA. Z's aren't made for traffic jams. Likewise, Chargers and Camaros really don't corner as well, It almost feels like you are compressing the suspension on one side of the car, I don't get that with a Z?
The Z pairs best with a smooth paved, winding, snake shaped road with very little traffic.
"What is power without control". If you're buying a Z just to "gap" people, you're buying the wrong car.
People buy Z's just to treat it like a muscle car when they couldve just bought a muscle car lol

I prefer curves over straight line speed any day. That's why I love my 2014 q60 coupe (rebadged G37) even though it's a boat.

I have a 16 370z Nismo and I feel it has the perfect amount of power for the 285 rear tires. It puts power down alot easier than say a V8 Mustang or a 6.4L Challenger. And it's super fun around corners. Its the best balance of straight line speed and cornering ability. In real life conditions, say stop light to stop light Drag, I'd say they're Just as fast as any modern day muscle car.
Hey niksmo yes I have exactly same car on a 2016 in pearl white and totally agree with your points we also have a merc s63 amg and bently gt which on paper say are both faster in a straight line but nismo feels faster and wonderful balance.

Stock for stock the z will walk on a sti I don’t think Nissan upgraded there motor because the vq platform is absolutely amazing and when they first came out they were smoking a lot of cars and still till this day almost a decade old the vq keeps up with a lot of cars 🤙🏻 #vq4life #zlife #zgang

Fastest car I have been in was a twin turbo viper. 1200whp it felt insane, it was honestly scary.
All the real competition of the 370 have some major issues though. Mustang GTs gear selector forks are breaking with stock power, Camaros and Chargers are having catastrophic failure. The 370 is solid. I just took delivery of a 2020 3 days ago and it's been a blast so far and I'm still breaking it in.

Casti2G I think the z is ugly compared to Aston martins, Ferraris, f type Jaguars, corvettes. I prefer the looks of my 2018 mustang gt. Taste in cars is very subjective.
Also just curious to know the speed you were rolling at? 3500 in rpm is a really low number for that HR motor to roll race with.

You are right about the 370z being fast, it posts virtually the same acceleration times of an E46 M3 and no one ever said they were slow.
Your also right about how cars now have so much more power now, with their turbo engines but the 370z can still hold its head up high👍🏼

It's not fast by todays standards, but it fits a nice middle ground for sports cars and is enough power to still be fun. More nimble than a mustang and more power than an 86/FRS. When i bought mine it was perfect for me, not too much power to get in trouble and still looks great. I'm obviously biased because i own one but i think in the coming years when they're out of production and people can pick them up cheaper you'll see more of these cars being modded and tuned, like the old z cars and skylines are now.

Nissan stayed around 350 hp because there is a twin turbo version, its called a GT-R. For me the Zs are the perfect blend of performance and comfort. Want something in between in regards to both price and performance? Boost your 370z and call it a day.

Dude you hit the head on the nail. I keep telling folks the Z isn’t for the straight line racing ( unless you set it up for that). Put that baby in a road course and that’s where the truth is. I had someone trying to keep up with me in my Nismo on a winding road and the results were hilarious. I was hitting curves going 85 mph without breaking and laughing at what I saw in my rear view as he was all over the road. I’d slow up on the straights so he could catch up, just to embarrass him again on the twists and turns. Fun times😂😂😂

370z’s have a lot more power than we think. Even straight from stock it’s a powerful car that can go up against many modded cars. I’ve always kept an open mind by the Z just has something about it that I love. I hope the car keeps being made for a long, long time.

I have the G37, which is not slow. But I want to baby my car. I worry about oil leaks. I worry about the transmission. Its not slow. Its alot faster than alot of so called performance cars on the road. Will it beat a fat V8 ? No. Will it beat a Porshe, depends on what Porshe. Bmw, mercedes, corvette. I think the 3.7 is a great motor. At 330 horses stock. Its pretty quick. I see so many turbos to make power. I dont want that. A good exhaust, and the intake and you have V8 power right there. Remember, this was Nissan's flagship motor. Alot from racing goes into this 3.7. But you have to stomp it to get the torque.

The 350z or 370z is not fast at best it's decent. With a skilled driver you can be higher hp cars. It's a good car to lightly mod but when you get to the meat and potatoes you need them dollars!

Nissan has always been a company that has this " if it's not broke don't fix it" attitude. That's why alot of there cars don't get updated like their competitors. For ex. Altima from 2007-2012 the Altima only got front end make over. The 350/370z is no different.. even in there luxury line up. The g35 and g37 where the same car pretty much until they made the q50.. as far as performance. The Sti, evo, focus are awd cars and pretty sure they are alot lighter than the z, so those cars without a doubt are alot quicker than Z's. Here in 2018 most pony cars are going to be a tad slower or faster as far as v6. But like you mentioned, the Z line up has never been about drag racing. It's a track focus coupe. Like the S2000. Nice vid.

My o5 z is on coil overs and straight pipe to y-pipe and muffler delete with shorty headers ,cold air intake and it's great taking off I've race 2012 5.0 and to 60 I was a head then I backed off same with 5.7 Challenger ,I also have new tires , so z are quick and on a windy
track I'm super agile ,and also at 70 mph I'm getting 29 miles per gallon ,that's winning lol
The vq is an amazing motor doesn’t brake easy and lasts lots of miles. I’ve had two nismo z 16 and 18 both amazing I change my oil with ester nissan oil at 3800 km Aprox 2500 miles and if standard 6 speed replace your clutch fluid regularly. As it goes black your shifting is affected.

Handling it is ok. It is a go cart feel. There is alot better out there but more expensive. You can't compare to a super car. That is fast. Come on 4.6 0-60 vs 2.8 second fast cars. Just think a 1 ton diesel can beat you. A truck can beat a 370z. Yep that is why it is fast. Have fun. Race if you want don't record it.

Yes compared to most cars people consider “race cars” or “fast” it’s slow. Love the car but very underpowered. But it can’t be two fast or it would counter the point if the r35 and upcoming 36.

I race my 350z an I have won most of the races, I'm 4-1. I have gotten it up 135....it's all about tq an how u shift. Just be happy an race an have fun. :) by the way gt mustang kicked my ass. Lol.
I have a 66 Coronet 440/727 with 500hp. My wife has a 88 mustang GT with 300hp. We would say the 350z/370z is slow. But I still like them. In my world any car that can't pull a 12.50 1/4mi et is slow.
