  • The combination of moist heat followed by air crisping is perfect for cooking a whole duck! The Ninja Foodi makes this easy to do even if you have an older model. I used the OL601 steam & crisp function. 👇👇👇 CLICK FOR RECIPE & DETAILS 👇👇👇

    Not a fan of duck but I made a pork butt roast using steam and crisp and the temp probe and it was like heaven. Love this channel. It should be required viewing for anyone striking out on their own who doesn't know anything about cooking.

    I am so happy to see a cook that doesnt put gloves on to prep and cook food. I hate seeing cooks/chefs wearing latex gloves, as if actually touching the food you are preparing is a bad thing.

    Hello Louise. I just want to say I made the cranberry sauce yesterday to serve with a lovely duck breast (only cooking for me!) and the sauce was so super easy and the flavour was amazing 🤩 five star. Thank you. Have a great 2022 ☺️

    Thank you so much for doing a duck, I have wild ducks in the freezer now I can use my new Ninja Foodi and make duck. I love the recipe. Your duck looks amazing.

    I followed your steps, but since I'm diabetic I didn't do the sauce. I used a rub I bought in Napa and it came out perfect. I scoured pinterest, but stuck with you!
    Thank you for a most, delicious duck...I do however need to work on my cutting!

    I normally cut off the wing tip sections. Most of the time we didn't eat them and the duck fits better without them.

    Great video. I always start upside down which makes flipping just once easier for me but never did one in ninja, got good ideas from you. Have you had time to look at book or sauce. Shelly

    Hi ive had my ninja foodi for over a year roast potatoes are great, and roast pork is the best with the crackling, ive only just started to appreciate how good it is thanks to your recipes,,i have the older version with the pressure cook lid, just wondering is the newer version better just wondered what your thoughts are ?

    This looks so good. I wonder if starting breast side down ata higher temp for maybe 7 or 8 minutes, then flip and finish cooking breast side up till it comes to temp would have been easier. I’ve done this with turkey and chicken with success. Thanks for all your instruction. Merry Christmas to you and Jeff.

      Yes, that is how I'm writing up the recipe. At the very end of the video, I suggest doing that.

    Lovely recipe Louise. Thanks. One comment is about the noise your model makes.. sounds like my vacuum cleaner 😳 I love my “older” version -way quieter 😊
    Another thought. What about starting with the bottom of the duck facing up at the air fryer point so that crisps then flip 1/4 way through?

    Hi is this you using cooler 8 qt? I just wonder whether 6.5 qt could fit the whole duck

  • @ljaygould
    @ljaygould Před 2 lety

    This recipe looks amazing! I have the older model Foodi Pro 8qt and am considering upgrading to this. I wonder what it would be like to do this recipe in an OL701 which has the thermometer option, so you don't have to set time, estimate predicted temp, and use the external meat thermometer. I have the big Foodi Oven with this capability and would never go back. It's a bit more money but maybe worth it. The 701 also seems to only be available from Ninja Kitchen directly or from Amazon...

    Hi just wondering why you didn't use the probe with the 701?

  • @ukspankedyank
    @ukspankedyank Před 2 lety

    Was going to ask if you had divorced your older Foodi now that you got that OL701 but you mentioned the 6.5 2 lid. Externally those older ones looked more handsome then these newer ones but I like having more functions.

      I slice orange up and put inside and on top.
      Add some juice and ginger with spring onions or chives..
      Did the crisp feature cause it to look so dark on top? Hard to tell..
      Maybe it holds the fat so caused it..
      I drain half way through cook for golden top...
      Thanks for sharing

    I've never had duck before and I've never ever even thought of trying it. Watching this video has made me want to try it but I'm still scared lol. I'm one of those people that sticks to the basic beef, pork, chicken. I'm so curious though
