It was revealed that hat adult and hat kid were the same person from the future and past when the devs had the idea of having time mechanics

I kinda see a Hat in Time as the story of Hat Kid using the timepieces to shirk her responsibilities as a time keeper.
There were a lot more main characters that were 'scrapped'.
You can see a few of them frozen in Vanessa's mansion, and I don't think their there just for decoration.
Maybe they tried looking for her, but ended up getting caught.
I sure hope she travels back to a time before she decided to run away, otherwise, they could be trapped there while she's wondering where everyone went.

If there's ever a sequel, I hope it's about Hat Kid facing the consequences of her actions, and trying to fix whatever timelines she managed to screw up in her little joyride through time.
Well yes but no cuz it would be a really dark sequel that could even be a horror game (hat kid at "home" sobbing on the ground around 5000+ dead bodies of her people as she gets up covered in blood she walks slowly and then starts to beat herself with the umbrella and snaps her neck causing her to die instantaneously and you sit there looking at the kids limp corpse as it fades to black and the game ends)

whoa, i knew there was some stuff under the surface but i didn't know it went this deep. thanks for sharing. it's kind of a shame this whole thing was cut, eh? i thought the segment with 'hat adult' was very cool and atmospheric but i guess they felt that it was too far from the game's overall goofy tone
some feedback:
- you've got a good voice/speaking style, but if you misspeak, it's better to do a retake. record in shorter fragments if that's easier on your voice. :)
- the blur at the start is a bit much; there's really no need to blur if you're not going to put something on top of the footage.
I wonder the final dlc will tell us more about hat kid lore.
Yeah, it made me kind of mad at first that they cut it from the final game, but I could see that it didn't quite match with the whole cute Hat Kid stuff. Maybe a spin off short movie or something could be in order. I really want to see the story unfold properly.
Yeah, my voice was really strained after I was done. I have a natural Irish accent, not an american one, so it strains my voice a lot to talk for that long a time.

I. Personally believe hat adult was for an epilogue. They wanted the game to be bigger so they probably wanted a heartfelt goodbye at the end of the game like in the zelda games. Or any rpg. But due to time issues they scrapped it
I may be late to this theory of the game A hat in time but i find it really interesting about the time keepers and why there is 2 people similar to eachother who has handled or uses timepieces i would like the game to have some real cool lore but its good enough for me anyway even if they dont because the game is that cute and solid.
In my opinion, I view a hat in time as 3 timelines, the beta, the launch & the updates.
I'm pretty sure this is the old story, when the game was going to be a hack n' slash platformer instead of a collect-a-thon.

I don’t know if this has to do with anything but if you do the bonus ending in times end the subtitles thing or whatever actually talks to hat kid oh and in the diary she says sorry future me idk if it means when she reads her diary again or future her as in the future her in the same timeline

Thing is, some of the stuff still is in the game, available to the average player - naturally, this would make them curious, as this leaves room for heavy implications. With certain tools, some have access to more information, from there we can reconnect the ties. Makes you wonder why such a dark plot got removed and the surface of the game seems so trivial. Mostly.
After further consideration, I have to admit - I like the game design. It tickles the sense of human curiosity, which is just great. I have seen communities working together day after day to find several secrets hidden in games, just because such implications were present. And after two dots finally connect, after so many considerations, the bigger picture finally takes comprehensible form. The satisfaction one gets from this is just reward enough.

As for how to transcribe the messages in the description, use alphanumeric code; A=1, B=2 and so on.
As for the code in the beginning of the videos, in the weird languages, I didnt have the early version of A Hat In Time, so I looked up the transcriptions on Steam. I dont have the link to that, but I did put in an effort to find it for you, and couldn't find it.

I think a question that is still unanswered but may lead to many new possibilities is how the sun piece and time pieces are related. From the evidence here, it seems like they're one in the same. But if they're separate, then why does an ancient artifact have the same power as a bunch of time pieces scattered about. Or is the sun piece a more powerful time piece? What if time pieces are, well, pieces that were split form the sun piece? How or why were they split?
Good video overall though, thanks for recapping everything from the translations in an understandable way. Probably edit repeated lines next time, but honestly it was only a few times and didn't bother me too much.
It's implied that the Sun Piece and Moon Piece split to form the time pieces, where exactly, I don't remember, it's been a while since I've gone back to the whole thing, because I know the whole story, and I'm wrong about a lot of assumptions in this video. I'm going to make a correction video eventually, but as for when, I don't know either, but I do know it will be animated and feature some new material, along with Hat Kid. Hopefully I can also get it all fully voiced as well when specific lines come up for respective characters.
I think it's also implied that the Sun piece is extremely powerful, possibly the most powerful in all the lore. Especially since the Founders had developed a distrust of the entire shadow kind, and Tempus (Who is a woman actually, I just found that out) is half shadow, the Founders actually killed her off, and framed Cavus for it so that Puella would go after him, and also prove loyalty to the Founders, as well as retrieving the Sun Piece, which Cavus stole and broke. One of the shards took out Puella's eye, which is why in some pictures as well as a mod called "Ultra Silence" you see her with one eye closed. This break in the Sun Piece, I'm assuming, led to the creation of the Time pieces in the next timeline over, and Cavus gives them to Heni.

@@nyeh7205 There are a series of Mods created by Habboi, the 3D art director, who friends of mine believe to be Moleman1111. They tell the story, and some even have voice acting. Still some unanswered questions, but it seems as though the story is still going. If you wanted to find out yourself what the story is so far without waiting, that's where I suggest you go.

I could argue this because in a mod I think hat kid was called Madelyn and hat adult was call adira if that mod is correct we reach a contradiction
