5 years from now… “I will buy this Super C motorhome if it makes it up this hill”
I look forward to that video
😂
I can’t believe you made it up the same hill that your parents pulled their 30’ RV up😮😂
Utterly shocking!
@@largemarge1603 I know!
I commented in another video that it might not be the rig for you, but i change my mind. This thing is pretty sick and unique. Capable and roomy to live in. Its perfect for you man!
As I said on the other vid, as a full-timer in a similar sized Rig (A Mercedes) towing a Jimny (04 Samurai) its a great combo of space and fun and taking weeks of food/supplies and so many toys on the road with you. Extra freedom, do it.
That’s a big and heavy vehicle to be taking it off road if it was me I’d prefer the jeep setup
I so much appreciate how positive and light-hearted you are. Thank you for clean, cool content. BTW, the Fuso is coolio.
Do it. Do it. Do it! That fuso was meant to be yours. Life is about changes and stages. This thing is killer for this stage of your life.
Over two decades full-time live-aboard in our ExpeditionVehicle.
Semi-retired welder-fabricator here.
Our Opinion:
* I think you can do better, cheaper, with more reliability and resilience.
.
I think your gig requires ready-to-go instead of months of custom fabrication, trying to match reality with your mental image.
.
Based on your hx, I see you raising the body and cab, fitting bigger wheels and tires.
.
The axles and transfer case are rated for that little four-banger.
Install a Cummins 5.9 (or 8.3!) plus Allison 3060, and you enter Test Pilot territory.
During the conversion, every part needs to be custom, fabricated, evaluated, tested, then perhaps it can be trusted...
...until it breaks, then you start over.
.
Hypothetically, let's say you build a p-pump Cummins 6.7 for about us$22,000.
Let's say you acquire a decent Allison automatic for about us$7,000.
Let's say the engineering costs about us$50,000.
.
With that new level of torque, I think you would be prudent to install a stouter transfer-case, something built to handle the greater torque.
.
Let's say you can acquire Happy's rig for about us$20,000.
Then you invest a hundred grand in the drivetrain.
To me, it's still worth about twenty thou.
Insurance?
Wise words. Take it for what it is and deal with it or pass.
I like it, but don’t worry about what people think it’s what you think and I think you’re liking it Have fun
Awesome, Don't forget can't take it by a drive thru😊
I say definitely do it. Thing is bad ass for the size an height.
I say do it. You can mod it a little at a time as you see fit to meet your needs.
You don’t buy it I call dibs. That right there is killer.
Heck yeah man!! I dig it. And if it's putting a smile on your face, that's all that matters man. I hope you're well Phil!! Take care man 🤙🏻😁
thta must be turbo fuso. I watched a channel of them climbing a up a bad hill in indoensia..this is all the trucks they get. Every once and awhile this beast of a 4 banger would go by..and they used one to tug at tractor trailers... very low gearing. most were total dogs however.. a diesel is a diesel.
Luv your channel!!! Awesome vehicle
C'mon now, we all knew you were going to buy it after episode 1 😂We're just waiting for the mods.
Id put a hatch to the bathroom, that'd let you use the bed and bathroom without opening the slides. Stealth camping is important to me.
Very cool! I just watched another video before yours with AB camping and Tony's Little Isuzu from 1996 called buddy the one you're driving looks way tougher than it is😅
NAH it broke here ya go take it back. What a piece of work.
The guy at 4:05 is that your father ?
He looks so normal. Who would've thunk it?😅
Canadian.
In the dictionary under 'regular folks'.
If you love it, get it. Be sure to take a side by side with you for playing. You love to go fast and play hard and this rig won’t do that. You’ll need deep pockets to do real mob’n with it. Have fun and enjoy life.
I would buy that and keep the jeep too
Well, you read my mind a 12 valve Cummins, and you are set. For all the reasons you stated. All you need to do is find a donor truck and make the swap.
I would suggest talking with your industry connections. Finding out about newer suspension upgrades on the market. A little collaborative this, and that's..... Even the tires. You need the ability to carry the payload. Yet not be so stiff your ridability is given up. Even being able to air down will help. Plus, the ability to air up quickly when back in the hardtop.
I can see the "Down to Mob" logo on it already. A Can Am towing behind it. Parked under a moonlight sky, a camp fire in your smokeless portable fire pit. A grill off the side, under a nice awning. Some mellow music playing thru the outdoor speakers...with the company of your girlfriend... watching the stars... I think shake hands on the deal and make it happen. The Fuso is Down 2 Mob.
😎👍
Buy it yesterday
Oh Ya.... Goes anywhere!🤙🤙 Just at a more Rock Krawlin speed up them steeps. Which is kool, less harsh on everything. Honestly, living in my Callen Camper my home on wheels, whenever i hit the Road, i take it real careful. I dont have money to repair stuff. + It just makes sense to not thrash my Home. I got a HotRod if i need to beat on something. So ya treat id nice , live in it comfortably and adjust. It aint so bad just Kroozin.... 🏁🏁🇺🇸🇺🇸Be blessed Mobmaster🙏🙏🔧🛠️🔧
Cummins, Allison 6-8 speed auto and a rear dually. I driving a 2006 4x4 ,5.3L Tahoe with a SmittyBuilt 2983 pop up RTT. And I have Chrons Disease and I'd luv to be able to have that rig. Buy it
...this needs to be your rig ...nice work brother

2003, one reason we acquired our 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck for conversion to our concept of an ExpeditionVehicle?
Cummins 8.3 12-valve and Allison 3060 automatic, plus factory air-locker in the drive-axle.
I have a 12 valve 8.3 Cummins in my 1998 motorhome. Love that motor.
Phil loved the Jeep but to small I think with proper suspension upgrades you will do fine.
DO IT!! and then the cummins swap!
You gotta do it man
Hello Phil and Corry 😊 Hello Mam Beautiful family ❤
It is “the” RIG!
❤❤❤ YES
Too big for me and we see much bigger rigs on the PanAmerican in South America where their owners (mostly Germans) love them. You’ll do fine in this next stage of your life. Cheers from Chimborazo, Ecuador.
Phil, what does it get for MPG? Parts availability?
Throw some portals from 74Weld on that beast.
Buy it !
Riding the brakes down that hill? Does the rig have a 4-Low?
It will definitely climb that hill, but watching it bounce and sway, it looks like you're pushing the limits of your suspension and drive train, and I don't think you've even loaded up with all your gear, yet. This looks like something that can do what you're asking, but you probably are asking too much of it if your plan is to do that kind of driving on the regular.
You seem like you would be a good fit for an old-school, heavy-duty Ford F350 or GMC/Chevy 3500. Drag up to 18,000 pounds behind it, or put a really nice (Alaskan?) camper on it. GMC's tend to be better built than Chevies. They're like the commercial-grade version of a Chevy.
you definitely need to adjust the entry set up for you specific, you do not want to pull your self in using that steering wheels you will quickly wear out the column, customize everything lol
@buck,
Agreed.
In our 1996 Ford CF8000 ExpeditionVehicle, the driver enters by standing on the steps -- using the steering-wheel for reference instead of a 'monkey-bars' -- then steps onto the floor of the cab, rotating to sit into the seat.
.
None of that procedure is applicable if the engine is running and the steering-wheel is floppy.
What kind of mpg do you get in that beast
That has a lay onto her side written all over it !! I’ve seen you drive !! Lol there’s no way you’ll keep that up rite !!
Hey Phil, just curious, but if you were to do the jeep over, would you do a cab over bunk? I remember you giving the reason why you chose not to, but seeing you so excited about this lay out, and being excited about a dedicated bed, I’m just curious if you’d’ve done things differently.
@dude,
Extra points for your compound contractions "you'd've"!
Don't change the engin Fuso has a good engin fuel consumption lot more with petrol engin
Phil just needs a set of 44s and 8 inch lift and some heavy duty axles, or he’s never gonna be happy with it. In standard form, this thing isn’t much different from what he had with the Dodge.
if its under 80k buy it
All I got to say is enjoy your mom and dad while you can that's so cool thot your mom and dad is out there
😎👍
Sounds like the brakes need some wd40 on the pads 😂
Is Phil just trying to avoid the inevitable? Phis has slowly been making changes to a vehicle that is more livable. If the jeep is doable for a week or two just stop putting it off. Keep the jeep and get yourself a home. Then use your amazing jeep for the week or two excursions.
I don’t think he can afford both
@@hanksaylor2926
Clearly out of my price range.
Over two decades full-time live-aboard, if we paid rent/mortgage, we would need different jobs with better pay.
.
That sort of behavior would cut into our 'play-time'...
@@hanksaylor2926 That may be but the rig he is looking at know won't do either. One has to ask, why is the current owner selling g? Those slideout have nightmare written all over them.
BUT!!!!! does it go thru the Drive thru!??????
12v is overkill, the 4cl Cummins are very stout much smaller and less noisy
Let's estimate its full-time live-aboard weight -- two adults plus two dogs -- at around eight ton... or chunkier.
Although I like the Cummins four-banger in something light like a Jeep, I think installing it in that would be a stressful misapplication.
If you can do the swap with a good chunk of cash in your wallet then go for it. Otherwise it's a mistake.
Just stretching it for content
If i have the money i buy amazing rig and Mitsubishi is a very good engine dont think 2 time bro and come to patagonia chile 🇨🇱 whit this xd
Get a house and keep the jeep for some extended trips.
I guess its fun to drive? seems so old.
Get it...modify it to your needs. DoNE
Is not the right truck. You need an m1078 or something. The Fuso is a nice little tryck but you’ll need to drop like 60k on it. Wait 6 months. The economy is tanking and these things will be super cheap.
One reason we acquired our 1996 Ford CF8000 commercial truck to convert to our ExpeditionVehicle:
* common parts in the areas we frequent... North and Central America.
.
* In Europe or Australia, a M.A.N. would be preferable.
* In Russia, a Tatra.
* Afrika -- Mercedes Benz.
* Indonesia and Viet Nam -- Cantor and former fUSA-military.
stop clickbaiting. You're buying this, it was obvious a few videos ago!
Not if it don’t climb
But it needs to climb the hill...
... following the folks towing their 30' travel-trailer.
.
Sorry.
That was rude and uncalled for.
I wouldn’t buy it… put the tent back up and stay in AZ for a while
I think your Mom fell out,she was there then poof she was gone.
Bro don't waste your money on this ridiculous thing. Just get a four wheel drive camper van like a sportsmobile. Or an ambulance and then build out the inside yourself.
5 videos on a maybe is getting played out. My opinion.
Бери!
that is a terrible 4x4 platform , get a American made 550 and put that box on it , but you do you
@shawn,
Those little pick-up trucks are vulnerable to overloading and bending.
One step 'UP' from Class Five vehicles to Class Six (and stouter), and we enter serious commercial territory -- the 'million-mile chassis'.
* Ford 650 comes stock with Cummins and Allison 3060 automatic.
* ACELA 4x4 and 6x6 in Montana has a Caterpillar and Allison, too.
No brainer. Get rid of that Jeep.
🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 dis is gooder than jeeps
