    Personally, I don't think kindness and masculinity are things that can't exist at the same time, because kindness is a fruit of the spirit. Also, to your point of tongues are mumbling, tongues are a gift of the spirit, which are from God. However, I do agree with you that there needs to be more of a focus on scripture, and sound doctrine. Because too often we focus on our feelings, over the truth of the word of God.

    • @gracedanielleinchrist

      @PeopleOfTheWay-Today I actually agree with you, in the sense that yes, people fake tongues and there is a lot of deception regarding them. Should we be mumbling on and on in our prayers? No, because the Father already knows what we need before we say it. Whether it is our personal prayer language to God, or a message in tongues, translated to English/another language, I believe it is for today. At my church, sometimes tongues are translated into a warning or encouragement for the church. I know the tongues of the church in Acts had a different use, but I wouldn’t go as far to say they are invalid because of the times. I believe that the Holy Spirit and the gifts are still active today.

    It is important to discuss areas that are in need of growth or change, but not wise to degrade an aspect of the Bible that is clear, but one may disagree with - namely you stating that Speaking in Tongues as written of in scripture, is mumbling.

      I appreciate you comment. I would agree that the bible is clear. Clear in that tongues where a particular manifestation at a particular time. They were clear and recognisable languages that people could understand and interpret. Tongues haves not been a big part of church history since those early days in "Acts". They re-emerge in the early 1900s in the form we have them today - as non-languages.
      I believe the bible is clear. That tongues have clearly ceased.
      Note: that this form of tongues which is not like the biblical description of tongues. This non-language type. Is evident in eastern religions, spiritualism and the occult. This non-language tongues is also used by those people. Biblical tongues were different. Thank you, have a great day.

    There's some truth to what you say but lets not forget what is perhaps the most radical and unflinching way to embrace the teachings of Christ, which is to directly confront our own egos, or the "natural man", put it aside, even kill it, and become a man of God. You can be an incredibly strong man but still not have the strength to be able to control your own ego much less directly confront it. It was Christ who said to turn the other cheek to the man that would hurt you for no reason whatsoever, and to give everything you own to the man that would rob you of everything you own. He chose to use these examples for a specific reason and it seems to have a lot to do with taming the natural man and our egos. I think a good test for this is to seek out those that we tend to disagree with a lot and regardless of who they are to show humility towards them, to recognize that we are on equal ground with them, that we are sinners just as they are and to realize that they have something to teach us. Its incredible how hard it an be to simply say something like "I'm wrong and you we're right." Everyone thinks they're strong until its time to say those words out loud especially to the people that we otherwise dislike and disagree with. We certainly don't have to agree to others beliefs, just like how we aren't agreeing with the thief that robs us just because we also give him our coat off our back, but because it provides one of the most direct paths to God and in that way we help others help ourselves become like him.

    • @marcanton5357
      @marcanton5357 Před 14 dny

      The turn the other cheek I think refers more to an aggressor who has overwhelming advantage over you( in this example through law, I think the person referred to as the striker would be a roman with citizenship whom would be backed up by a corrupt legal system if you strike back). The robber would be the same I guess given his willingness to use lethal force over goods which aren't worth anywhere near a human life, either yours or his for you to defend your goods.
      You're totally supposed to fight back against evil people, and enforce ethical laws, just do it wisely, and it's not wise to risk everything over a small victory.
      Pretty sure you heavily misunderstood the teaching if you think the lesson is let evil have it's way with you and be a punching bag as a way to Heaven. You're supposed to fight the man who strikes you for no reason, and the thief, just not that way. If you kill the macho ego that hampers you, you're not supposed to be transformed into a placid, passive person, just fight for the right reason, but totally fight all your life against evil people.

      @PeopleOfTheWay-Today  Před 14 dny

      @@marcanton5357 This isn't an easy message to hear, for anyone. In fact this is the exact opposite of easy. I just try to take the words of Christ as seriously as I know how. What did Christ say? Why did he always place emphasis on becoming one, on forsaking money, on going out of your way to find exactly those people you have strong disagreements with and find a way to love them and be humble before them. Why do we often avoid this message and even recoil from it? Because its hard but at the same time very easy to see.
