    Well explained as usual. Instead of footage, if this were an animation with shape layers and keyframes that was all precomposed, would time-remapping this precomp to be slower use frame blending or would it automatically stretch out the keyframes in the precomp to be smooth slo-mo?

    • @motionbynick
      @motionbynick  Před 3 lety +7

      if you are using all shape layers and precompose it, and then use time remapping, you shouldn't actually need to use frame blending at all!
      After Effects can automatically blend out shape layers perfectly fine via time remapping. Good question.

    Thanks a lot! So lets say I have regular speed and want to slow down in a smooth way, how can I do that? with your method you are creating a curve that at first speeds up a lot, to then slowly smooth out. DO you understand what I mean? I want to go from 1 to zero in a smooth way, without going from 1 to 5 real quick just to then slow down from there. Basically I do not want to have that peak in the curve that you are creating! any suggestions?

    Quick question 🙋🏻‍♂️ if you key frame something and then later on you want to change the keyframe starting point or where you want the speed to change…How do i change that? Just dragging the key frame? Will have to create a new one right?

    • @motionbynick
      @motionbynick  Před 3 lety

      you can drag around keyframes left/right to change when they happen on the timeline
      if you want to edit a keyframe you make a change while your play head is on that keyframe

  • @drawnsequence
    @drawnsequence Před rokem

    In my Edit Speed Graph, I want it to speed up then go back to normal speed but when I choose Hold Interpolation, it snaps to 0. If I pull both ends up to 1, it creates a bowl as though bezier curves are pulling it the speed down. ..except the beziers are perfectly horizontal and I can't get rid of them. Usually 'Hold Interpolation' gets rid of bezier handles in most softwares but I guess not here?

    • @drawnsequence
      @drawnsequence Před rokem

      Aaand I figured it out, stupid mistake. I have to drag the end handle in since the length of the clip will have changed with a section sped up. Is there anyway to make it automatically pull the end point closer whenever time is stretched? I'd like whatever remains after the time stretched parts to adjust to maintain a steady 1 second per second without having to manually find that point

  • @ash7324
    @ash7324 Před rokem

    No tutorial covers how to slow something down, then go back to normal speed, every time I speed ramp something between 2 keyframes, everything after the second keyframe is slow motion. If you try to move the points in the graph editor it just curves the graph between the two frames, even if you're on linear interpolation and there is no bezier curve. ITS DOING MY FUCKING HEAD IN!!!!!!!!!!!!
