A Dream We Call Alaska

- Nestled deep into the wilderness along the shores of one of the largest lakes in Alaska, lies a grouping of fly-fishing lodges that encapsulate what it truly means to be wild. Within those boundaries, endless quantities of Salmon, Rainbow trout, Pike, and other freshwater treasures move throughout the territories, creating an environment so wild, it feels like something that could only be found between the pages of a Jack London novel.
Last September, we had the chance to trade our wheels for wings and make our way to Pedro Bay, to spend a week at Iliamna River Lodge, as well as Rainbow River lodge, and Fish and Float Alaska. While there, we experienced the truest Lodging, Cuisine, and of course, Fly-fishing that Alaska had to offer. With days spent jet boating around the wildest terrain in the country, we had the chance to experience freshwater fishing unparallel to anywhere else in the world.
Here, we attempted to culminate our unforgettable adventure, however, the only way to truly experience something of this scale is to do it yourself.

What is really amazing is there are so many places like this here in Alaska! We Alaskan’s are so spoiled! No place even compares. Simple!!!😉👍
Thanks for capturing the essence of Alaska, All these "one day" comments have solidified that this is the place I belong.
Great video, Ihave been lucky enough to live around much of Alaska the past 43yrs, never take it for granted, etc… what blows me away is many young first up here transients working for the summer that have no clue how unique this place is! I gave up trying to explain this place! No place even compares. Simple!😳🤣👍
Very lovely ...... I'll be there one day
Thank you for making my dreams come true. Iliamna River Lodge... I've never felt more alive! A true adventure!
I have been to Rainbow River Lodge and it is absolutely incredible! By far the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life.
Talk about a Bucket List trip. Nice one guys!
I lived "the dream" there for fifty years. All the way from Ketchikan in southeast, all the way up to Fairbanks. Juneau, Palmer, Wasilla, and Anchorage. Also three places off the grid with no names. But I got old, health issues flared up and I had to move to the "lower 48. I will always be an Alaskan at heart; but I will admit I do not miss the 40+ below zero!!
I am, retired ol Ron.
Amazing!
Very nice cinematography!
Stunning! Thank y'all for sharing with us....

The last frontier in the US. A great adventure. I will be back....
Steven, Nice comment yet not just the last USA frontier, the last true wilderness anywhere on earth!😉
As a longtime Alaskan, got to say nice footage, only place compared to Bristol bay, Katmai is Kodiak!😉
The Good Lord blessed me with 3 trips to AK. The first was a fly-out moose hunt on the Kenai with High Adventure; the second was when I worked for BP first as a contractor then an employee in 1988-89; and finally a trip to visit a friend I'd made when working in the VAX group in Standard Alaska Production Company/then BP in 1992. I even got to fly a DHC-2 Beaver (I was a private pilot). I'd planned to go back to fly people to the outback, but realized I was too old for the level of work req'd of bush pilots. But I was still blessed beyond words to make those three trips. To those who want to go, do not listen to the naysayers. PLAN AHEAD and talk to those who have gone before, pack your gear, and head out. The drive is grueling, but you'll never make a more beautiful one. The photography is tough due to flat light and terrain. It is good to like yourself (like being by yourself for long periods). God bless and have a safe trip. Enjoy!!
Nice ad... nice ad....
Someday I vow I will get there
Well done
Great video.

Witch part of alaska is this?
If I make money then I’m buy the lodge
Hello Sar how are you
Jet boats have ruined some of the fisheries. The rafts aren’t so bad.
Its so ironic that on the quest into the wild, into the untouched wilderness, we bring noise and pollution to ruin it all, all the disturbances we tried escaping in the first place. ATVs, Jetboats, Floatplanes... and the corporations to cash in on it, slowly but persistently creeping up on even the remotest locations, selling you the last remnants of the natural world as an all inclusive package deal.
Make no mistake, besides all the nice cinematography and artificial melancholy, this is a rich mans escape from the craziness of modernity that they themselves created. Not unlike those arctic cruises. If you're a working man, well to bad mate, you can't afford this. Back to the amazon warehouse in the smog of your cities you peasants, theres a quota to hit... Jeff Bezos needs another little relaxing fishing trip after his exhausting business trip to the edge of space.
any chance Bristol Bay can be saved? How I hate Trump
