Today I'm voting Herman Blasl. That Kadett may not be the outright fastest thing, but the consistency with which he turns up and gives maximum attack, is impressive.
Wonder if it is an entire a3/S3 driveline (obviously heavily modified) for the driveline with a DSG which shift super fast. I have a rs3 and can barely even feel the upshifts when on hard throttle and that's a street car. Modified would be much faster and plus being in a light car, would be a rocket.
@@HillClimbMonsters i saw another hillclimb golf on a different channel, either a mk7 or mk8, based of the touring car, but running a 2.5ltr 5cyl and 4wd. that is another one to look out for. quick car
I often wonder how much of Karl’s car is actually a golf… I imagine it being like fat % on a bodybuilder: the better it performs, the less “fat” it is safe to estimate is on it.
Yes with the bodybuilder analogy, but Karl´s Golf is more of a Golf than some people realize. Although immensely modified, it still retain the middle cell of the chassis, windshiled dimensions and quite some more. It´s not as fully spaceframed machines with just a shell resembling the original car as some would might make you believe ;)

5:48 isn't that an FK8? Seems to have a very small tune on it as well with 340 PS, not much above stock either.

The shifting on the Golf Mk2 TFSi-R seems so much faster & smoother then everyone else! Mind binding fast!

The golf is so planted in the corners and yet so nimble at changing direction. Very WRC like. Incredible!
Aaaaand now I'm imagining Schagerl's Golf with the active center diff from the Polo WRC cars....
And a quite bit more power on Top.... ;)
