Fun Fact: Speaking of Ghost...Patrick Swayze told the producers that if they didn't hire Whoopie to play in the movie he said he was out and would refuse to play in it as well...Whoopie says till this day she will always remember that about him👍
This is/was mine & my sister's favorite movie. Even tho she was only 6yrs older than me she practically raised me. As a polio survivor it was a tough job. I moved to TN & she was in Michigan. Everytime this movie was coming on whoever saw it advertised first called the other & we'd watch it together long distance. She passed away & I haven't been able to bring myself to watch it alone. I'm sure you'll love it & the music in it is awesome. Might give you some songs to review in full. Enjoy the movie

This was an unexpected hit because nobody knew Patrick could sing this good.
He was all around a great actor but more so just a lovely human being.
His loss hit hard for many of us
This was one of the songs my wife and I requested for our wedding. People were so excited to hear this. it was the one song everyone danced too. Not one seat was occupied.

Patrick swayze wanted by so many women but his wife he remained faithful and loyal to her. Just remember a beautiful woman inspired this song.

"Hungry Eyes" is another great song on the Dirty Dancing soundtrack.... There is a video Tribute to Patrick set to that song(filled w footage from his entire career) as well as the regular music video for the song.... Both are worth checking out.

I was stationed in West Germany time is movie came out and it took about six months for anyting in America get over there period when Dirty Dancing came through the women just had to watch it over and over and over for like 2 days.

So while his mother taught him dance, he had to learn to fight. Yes! I know the different between dance class and any self defense taken.Is that clear enough now, since you want to be so superior?

Not only did he sing the song, he also wrote the song. He wrote the song whilst filming Dirty Dancing and thought it would be great for the film. The producers of the film heard it and agreed it would be great for the film. Also when he did Dirty Dancing he didn't have to pretend he knew how to dance. He was a professionally trained dancer.

It’s so sad he’s gone. I was able to be around him several times at the stables where he boarded his horses. Just an ordinary guy wanted to be treated as such. He worshiped his sweetheart and life-dance partner Lisa. Many don’t know but Lisa had her hand in all his movies where he danced. She was the choreographer. True Soulmates.
You should watch The Outsiders to see a lot of young popular actors from the 80s and I think Tom Cruise, see Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Emilio Estevez, and others played like all these brothers

Like a lot of guys, when I think of Patrick Swayze I think of ,"Roadhouse," "The Outsiders," or even ,"Red Dawn." So when this came out I was in shock. I never saw, "Ghost" and didn't see "Dirty Dancing" until probably the year 2000 but I had heard this song back in the 80's. So I must have heard this song before Roadhouse.

My BFF/roommate was obsessed with Patrick Swayze. Everyday we watched something on VCR. So in a weird way I felt like he was a brother in law.
Looking back, he was awesome.

His mum was a dance teacher, his dad wanted him to play football. He was a great dancer as you will see in the movie. He played football until he did his knee, then went to New York to work as a dancer, with some serious pain in his knee. He ended up in the movies, because he looked so good. Which earned him a living without quite so much stress on his knee. Point Break was one of his earlier films. Look him up, he did more than 3 movies.

Patrick Swayze actually wrote this song way before Dirty Dancing. Rob Lowe talks about how he wanted to put it in Youngblood, but Rob said bro, this is a hockey movie. So Dirty Dancing was the right movie for his song.

He wrote and sung this to his wife. He was a special person and admired personally by his fellow actors, but had issues. As stunning and successful as he was, his demons and addictions were there. I wonder if this broke down his immune system to let the cancer take him. To die so young... RIP Patrick! You left a permanent mark on pop culture of my generation.
