  • First time running belted tires on the XMaxx. I have another set on the XRT. Right now they are my favorite Proline tires. I have the Trenchers with bead lock wheels, (For the XRT, XMaxx and another set for the TRX4) and I have the Badlands and now the Mashers. The Badlands are great but the compound is so hard that it makes for a very hard ride on whatever you put them on and they don't hookup very good, but they should last a long time because of that hard compound. The Mashers are very soft and I love the way they handle. They are my first belted tire and I am very happy so far... It is so good to be back again, that was way too long. Everytime it started to dry out abit it would rain hard. That went on for almost six weeks so I am trying to take advantage this weekend and do another run tomorrow with the XRT... I knocked the hinge pin loose on the right front knuckle again on the XMaxx early in this run so I took it a little easier than I normally would but it was still a good run and I tried to keep the action going the entire time. No differential issues as usual with the XMaxx. It has a 46t spur and a 20t pinion just like the XRT right now but the XRT is clearly faster. I haven't put my gps on the XRT in a while but it got between 56 and 57mph with the 20-46 combo and the stock tires running on the street right after I changed the pinion when I first got it last year and the XMaxx runs a steady 53mph with the same gearing. I don't understand how because the diff gear ratio is the same as is the final drive without wheels of course but that is the speeds I am getting, maybe more drag on the XMaxx? I don't need the fastest rc, I just want enough power to pull off some cool jumps and stunts. It is always about driving these things for me, that's where 95% of the fun is, I do love working on them as well but driving them is as good as it gets for me. Thanks for watching everybody!

      Thanks, I was unsure in the beginning but it's growing on me now and I didn't have to use Gorilla tape on this one for a change. It is very thick and strong!

      @@tompendley1172 yea dude! I’ve been really happy with gorilla tape so far but to have a box strong enough to not need it is amazing!

      Thanks Terry, this new body is tougher than I thought it would be and it's not very heavy at all... So glad we're not getting drenched every 2-3 days now either, happy days now!

      Many thanks! Hoping to be back out there this afternoon with the XRT, see if she can make it through an entire run without breaking. 🤞

    Looks like fun with a few big airs and house attacks. Your hills look like they are getting worn down a bit. Especially right at the end of your run, you nose dived it into the big gray pile and then floored it. I think you took an inch off the top.

      Yeah man it's always fun running the big trucks. I think the rain takes off more inches than I do bashing on those hills but that's what they are there for. Always looking to get more dirt out here. Maybe one day it will look like what I originally planned for it to be...

    Nice man the xmaxx is a beast I just love how it takes all those jumps with ease , do you like the mashers on there or do you prefer a more ballooning type of tire?

    • @tompendley1172
      @tompendley1172  Před rokem +1

      Thanks, I run 80 weight shock oil in the front and 100 weight in the rear and it soaks most of those big jumps right up. I do love those Mashers for handling but the Sledgehammers are best for pure bashing in my opinion...

      @@CRAIGMAC-RC I also increased the preload on all the shocks moving the collar just past halfway on the threads equally all the way around. I have not done that to the XRT yet but it needs it. Goodluck!

      @@tompendley1172 yea I did that , I just think the shocks probably have leaked some shock one from super hard landings over and over , and I definitely need heavier shock oil , I’m going to try setting up the shock oil the way you have your xmaxx , I also heard m2c or another company made really stiff strong springs , that might help too

    • @tompendley1172
      @tompendley1172  Před rokem +1

      @@CRAIGMAC-RC Those shocks will leak sometimes. m2c and Vitavon has some real nice springs for the XRT, and the XMaxx I believe. The heavier shock oil made a world of difference for me. I've been so busy I haven't had the time to tune the XRT yet but it's coming soon. Hoping to run it later today, I hope it holds together this time.

    Those tires are nice, but DO NOT run them on pavement. One of my Masher X tires ripped during an off road session and I think it's because I ran them on concrete the last time 😢. Good bashing
