I'd love to get an actual lore explanation for what blast mode is and how it's triggered, is it something like a rage mode? A kinda dark equivalent to burst mode? Something more similar to dark evolution? This is a very interesting concept and the fact that it's only in one thing from 2005 is really weird and I hope we get something more with it someday

As for these new 2020 Versions of WereGarurumon and MetalGreymon i think these are more supposed to be direct references to their Kizuna Forms from the movie i coud be wrong though. I really like Darkdramon Blast Mode, it looks like just his wings and lance get bigger, since Darkdramon is already an aggressive digimon I think it be cool if Blast Mode actually helps him become more calmer, this was actually really interesting to learn about

Blastmode is really cool. Seriously I could see it being the focus of a line, story or show. Rather than the classic 'oh overcome the darkness', learn to ride, tame and direct it and the surging emotions to create the blast mode. Seriously, the Accel would make a cool digivice XD

I didn’t even know there was any other Blast Modes and is it me or does Seraphimon have a lot of corrupted side forms there is the basic BlackSeraphimon that makes his debut in DW3 then there is ShadowSeraphimon really kool design obviously a fully corrupted Seraphimon going to the Dark Area leads to him becoming Daemon/Creepymon a step up as Daemon tends to be a lot more powerful than Seraphimon in most media now you got Blast Mode to add to the list. I really wish there was art to these forms I want to see what BanchoLeomon looks like one of my favs and MarineAngemon with the VP Sprites is left to your imagination an evil looking MarineAngemon I see why its number one on your list!!
BlackSeraphimon from DMW 3 and ShadowSeraphimon are the same Digimon. ShadowSeraphimon is called black Seraphimon in Japan, the DMW version is basically just like the concept art version of the Frontier one.

Blast Mode seems like a great way to not just cover up a Mega Level's lack of potential to turn into Burst Mode, but when the Ultimate Levels do it, it sorta makes you think any old Digimon could get such a turbo boost. So what if Blast Mode is just an incomplete Burst Mode? Maybe it's activated through a special machine that overcharges a Digimon with power. The Power the Digimon has skyrockets sure, but it's not true power. When the bond of Digimon and Tamer reach it's best, and the user is more determined than ever before to commit to a cause, that's when Burst Mode finally kicks in, and unleashes that Digimon's true potential.
On the Chaosmon sprite I was seeing the bit you said was a bulkier torso as a set of eyes poking out of a hole on its torso. So I was seeing it as an even more chaotic version while you saw it as a harmonious mode. I think it would be super awesome if we got BOTH! It'd be so cool if Chaosmon had the potential to digivolve either way!

Edit: One of the funnier ones to me is that Alphamon: Blast Mode is normal Alphamon with the Ouryuken. All the people that complained about Ouryumon being left out of Alphamon: Ouryuken’s appearances had no idea that Alphamon with Ouryuken was already an actual form, technically anyways lol. I love the Blast Modes, but they’re so obscure and have gone completely under the radar. 😔 Would be amazing if we got official art for them

Bancholeomon definitely has I believe some flowing aura going around his fist on his left side ( our right ) much like how Leo mon in the 2020 anime has a special move that uses energy shooting from his fist , the right hand could be less aura or blades like you said

In Latin America, Blast Mode and Data Squad's Burst Mode were dubbed the same way: Modo Explosivo. I honestly thought they were the same thing until I started checking digimon wikis in english. Now I gotta practice my drawing skills to make pictures of these Blast modes.
I think if this gets big these forms will get noticed any we could see them in a game or anime or maybe just Manga, or maybe just a higher quality sprite with color
Cant wait for an anime series revolving around a corrupted part of the Digiworld. Where the memory storage is very limited that the digimon can't digivolve beyond further level, and they had to resort into tapping in to these dark powers and use the blastmode instead. Idk, digimon is dark, but darker themes..? Why not! Btw, this is a great introduction or expansion to blast mode. Hope they get a spotlight. It'll be a missed opportunity if Ghost Game game don't utilize this one way or another.

Very interesting discovery Karn! I think Blast Mode eventually became Burst Mode in Savers. Or it could be Burst is a proper more powerful evolution, while Blast is similar but the power output isnt the same and riskier, or evil 😈 The curvy lines on Bancho I believe, are auras surrounding his fists while his katana is sheathed. Much like how you said the Accel is similar to Bancho Bursr Mode in the anime.
Oh! _That's_ where this is from!? I actually stumbled upon this when I was searching different Modes for a digimon fic I was planning and I discovered Kentaurosmon/Sleipmon had a... Burst Mode? Blast Mode? It's actually labelled differently/incorrectly in some places (Damn you, Pintrest!!). It made sense to me that Kentaurosmon would have a Burst Mode because of the anime, but what the heck was "Blast Mode"?? It was really confusing! It also sucked that ol' Ken didn't have official art for Burst Mode, so I had to go hunting. One thing led to another and I was suddenly discovering a ton of "Blast Mode" sprites, which I thought were just mislabelled and/or unused Burst Mode digimon!
Based on the sprites on the box, I also assumed BanchouLeomon's blast mode had curvy pirate swords. But now that people are saying Marsmon-like energy coming off his fists/wrists, yeah, that makes more sense.
Allow me to propose another idea for Chaosmon's blast mode. What if, instead of being more 'harmonised' the blast mode makes him go crazy and/or shatters both digicores causing Chaosmon to gain more power at the cost of an even shorter lifespan. Kind of like a tradeoff. Also, an idea for Bancholeomon's blast mode is how those 'swords' could be made of fire. If you take a look at his special moves, they mostly consist of sending waves or slashes of fire towards the enemy and maybe, to power up his moves, he sets himself on fire?
Seeing Burst Mode came out in 2006 and the accel is from 2005, I have been wondering if they were like a beta version ever since I found out about them
Now I'm just imagining Millenniummon with its mouth and neck horrifically distended with two huge gun barrels, one of them possibly organic, sticking out.
If I was to put thought to it I think that Blast Mode might be triggered by a digimon gaining power but being just unable to go up in it's form for whatever reason to trigger that digivolution or change. So being built up in so much power and unable to evolve it manifests in a moderate change to the body and higher offensive power and with all the guns I think it would be beam focused.
Also if you're ever looking for a more obscure v-pet toy to cover, I recommend the D-cyber. Interesting history with that one, got ahold of it last year!

I think the blast mode for BanchoLeomon is supposed to be more like Marsmon. I saw the swords things around the wrist more like Marsmon's fire. Especially since BanchoLeomon evolves into Marsmon
Also I find it interesting that all these new Blast Modes seem to follow the design aesthetic of becoming more evil looking, when the only canon one we got in the anime was a demonic Mega gaining angel wings. I wonder if this means that Blast Mode varies depending on the type? Do all virus types (or just all demonic looking ones?) get this reverse Blast Mode where they become less evil? Or IDK, maybe just because its a V-Pet exclusive mode they didn't necessarily think about keeping it in canon with the anime, and were just like "Blast Mode = BECOME MORE BEELZEMON" lol
This blast mode sounds like a less self destructive version of ruin mode you know the corrupted version of burst mode they even slightly complement each other in their naming and how they work
I wish they would do a version 20th for the accel because it could use the updates and the popularity of the new vpets bandai would make so much if they released it world wide
I think Burst Mode is the 'good' beyond Mega and Blast is the 'evil.' Which would make ShineGreymon's ruin mode a form of Blast Mode. I'd say because while Burst Mode draws on the bond between Tamer and Digimon to allow the Digimon to gain strength from their Tamer, Blast Mode is the Digimon coming into contact within itself, it makes it strong but would also probably compromise the bond, maybe even weaken it some and while in this form the Digimon would be less likely to listen to their Tamer and act more on instinct. (Spoiler) Not supported by anything, Beelzemon gets his Blast Mode when he gets a toy from his Tamers and Ruin Mode isn't called a Blast Mode though it could be something similar but it might be important to note that they specifically call them something different and because Blast is a more aggressive word then Burst, maybe it's a more aggressive change?
There’s some good potential plot points with gallantmon x blast mode could be a mastered form finally expecting it’s dark origins and growing stronger for it finally at peace with it’s virus and inherently destructive nature

They all look really cool and it would be awesome to get fan art of them and to at least see them in the anime at some point or even in some of the later games...... If we ever get digimon survive. In Latin America, Blast Mode and Data Squad's Burst Mode were dubbed the same way: Modo Explosivo. I honestly thought they were the same thing until I started checking digimon wikis in english.
Now I gotta practice my drawing skills to make pictures of these Blast modes.

Where the memory storage is very limited that the digimon can't digivolve beyond further level, and they had to resort into tapping in to these dark powers and use the blastmode instead. Idk, digimon is dark, but darker themes..? Why not!
Btw, this is a great introduction or expansion to blast mode. Hope they get a spotlight. It'll be a missed opportunity if Ghost Game game don't utilize this one way or another.

As someone whose favorite Digimon is Beelzemon, I clicked on this video with deep confusion but also intrigue. Some of these are actually really cool and I wish we did see the full designs for them- Keep up the good content, man.

MarineAngemon's blast mode looks like somebody gave it angry eyebrows and colored in its wings and forehead with a permanent marker and I love it.

I had heard about these Blast Modes but I had never seen the actual sprites.
Very interesting discovery Karn! I think Blast Mode eventually became Burst Mode in Savers. Or it could be Burst is a proper more powerful evolution, while Blast is similar but the power output isnt the same and riskier, or evil 😈
The curvy lines on Bancho I believe, are auras surrounding his fists while his katana is sheathed. Much like how you said the Accel is similar to Bancho Bursr Mode in the anime.
As of bt14 its rumored that blast mode is the next set theme

Oh! _That's_ where this is from!? I actually stumbled upon this when I was searching different Modes for a digimon fic I was planning and I discovered Kentaurosmon/Sleipmon had a... Burst Mode? Blast Mode? It's actually labelled differently/incorrectly in some places (Damn you, Pintrest!!). It made sense to me that Kentaurosmon would have a Burst Mode because of the anime, but what the heck was "Blast Mode"?? It was really confusing! It also sucked that ol' Ken didn't have official art for Burst Mode, so I had to go hunting. One thing led to another and I was suddenly discovering a ton of "Blast Mode" sprites, which I thought were just mislabelled and/or unused Burst Mode digimon!
Based on the sprites on the box, I also assumed BanchouLeomon's blast mode had curvy pirate swords. But now that people are saying Marsmon-like energy coming off his fists/wrists, yeah, that makes more sense.
Allow me to propose another idea for Chaosmon's blast mode. What if, instead of being more 'harmonised' the blast mode makes him go crazy and/or shatters both digicores causing Chaosmon to gain more power at the cost of an even shorter lifespan. Kind of like a tradeoff.
Also, an idea for Bancholeomon's blast mode is how those 'swords' could be made of fire. If you take a look at his special moves, they mostly consist of sending waves or slashes of fire towards the enemy and maybe, to power up his moves, he sets himself on fire?

Seeing Burst Mode came out in 2006 and the accel is from 2005, I have been wondering if they were like a beta version ever since I found out about them
I have to wonder if there are other things like this in other V-Pets or Video Games just because it is so obscure on what you have to do.
I'm always on the hunt for cool stuff like this and falling down rabbit holes so if there are more I'll let you know!

If I was to put thought to it I think that Blast Mode might be triggered by a digimon gaining power but being just unable to go up in it's form for whatever reason to trigger that digivolution or change. So being built up in so much power and unable to evolve it manifests in a moderate change to the body and higher offensive power and with all the guns I think it would be beam focused.
Also if you're ever looking for a more obscure v-pet toy to cover, I recommend the D-cyber. Interesting history with that one, got ahold of it last year!
Yeah I've had my eye on a D-Cyber for a while but prices are far too much for what it is.

I think the blast mode for BanchoLeomon is supposed to be more like Marsmon. I saw the swords things around the wrist more like Marsmon's fire. Especially since BanchoLeomon evolves into Marsmon

Also I find it interesting that all these new Blast Modes seem to follow the design aesthetic of becoming more evil looking, when the only canon one we got in the anime was a demonic Mega gaining angel wings. I wonder if this means that Blast Mode varies depending on the type? Do all virus types (or just all demonic looking ones?) get this reverse Blast Mode where they become less evil?
Or IDK, maybe just because its a V-Pet exclusive mode they didn't necessarily think about keeping it in canon with the anime, and were just like "Blast Mode = BECOME MORE BEELZEMON" lol

This blast mode sounds like a less self destructive version of ruin mode you know the corrupted version of burst mode they even slightly complement each other in their naming and how they work

I think Burst Mode is the 'good' beyond Mega and Blast is the 'evil.' Which would make ShineGreymon's ruin mode a form of Blast Mode. I'd say because while Burst Mode draws on the bond between Tamer and Digimon to allow the Digimon to gain strength from their Tamer, Blast Mode is the Digimon coming into contact within itself, it makes it strong but would also probably compromise the bond, maybe even weaken it some and while in this form the Digimon would be less likely to listen to their Tamer and act more on instinct.

Not supported by anything, Beelzemon gets his Blast Mode when he gets a toy from his Tamers and Ruin Mode isn't called a Blast Mode though it could be something similar but it might be important to note that they specifically call them something different and because Blast is a more aggressive word then Burst, maybe it's a more aggressive change?
There’s some good potential plot points with gallantmon x blast mode could be a mastered form finally expecting it’s dark origins and growing stronger for it finally at peace with it’s virus and inherently destructive nature
