Personally I don’t mind if the animation is bad just as long as it conveys what it wants to convey. Who cares if a background shot looks bad, we still know what’s going on with the characters and how it affects the story
You gonna receive hate for this video, but don't let that sink down on you. You made your point and I agree with it. You gave good examples, if you wanted to make it more convincing, talk to an animation expert of how lazy this show is made. That definitely will convince people. Keep it up man👍
Yeah the animation is definitely cutting corners in a bunch of scenes, and this is more apparent in season 2. That being said I have read the comics and love the story. The one thing you mentioned about the show being a "relationship soap opera" is actually much closer to what the comics are at their core. The comic focuses a lot on the romance and personal relationship stories, almost equally to the action, I will not include any spoilers but its relationships that drive nearly all the major events.
Just cause the animation isn't JJK level doesn't mean it's "terrible". Western 2d animation hasn't been amazing for awhile now, a lot of the best western animation has been 3d. I agree that the animation should look better though, they definitely have the money for it. It's probably just Amazon exec's not wanting to invest more into it cause it's an animated show. Still, holding 2d western animation to a high standard is disappointment waiting to happen.
Have you watched the video? I specifically compared Invincible to another Amazon show The Legend of Vox Machina because the show has similar style, but looks much better. No need to bring anime.
Sorry but disagree, the animation is good. Obviously their not gonna make mundane scenes look the best because they save it for the fight scenes. Not all animation shows have to be animated in 1s. Also, I rather have a good cast than fluid animation but poor acting
this series could use some more budget and time maybe, season 1 was a huge sucess, I thought there would be some increase in resources for animation department. The design isn't bad and the drowings... Most of the time look good, but the *animation* could have some more work put into it :\

He is right, the animation is horrible, yet that doesn't make the show overall bad. And believe me, there is animation done for free by single people that looks better than this show on its budget. You don't see a full project like this, created with eight 40-50 minutes episodes, being created by a single person online. Any actual animations series usually still has a team behind it. A solo animator creating a full 5 hour+ show would probably be unbelievably burnt out and probably lose passion for animation lmao

Comparatively to other shows I watch, the animation can be quite lazy in invincible.
IMO, The animation really helps make the show stand out and not get confused with anything else.
