- This time I’ve added the real-time lyrics and chords (incl. chord pictures) to provide a guitar tutorial FOR FREE!
NOTICE: there are 4 subtitles (first at 0:18) with the suggestion to play Bb instead of Dm (sounds much better and Bb is not so difficult: you can play it like F in the 6th fret)
As Elton’s voice is (or respectively was, as nowadays he sings the 2. voice underneath) unfortunately much to high for me to sing along with him , I’ve tuned the song for normal men's voices. Also I’ve removed the chord change after the verse to simplify the singing and playing. Now there are only the most usual chords left (C, G, F, A, E, Am, Dm and Fm) and I think it still sounds like this great piece of music, Elton has composed in his early days.
Now he’s touring for the last time and his great farewell world concert series is called … of course: „Goodbye Yellow Brick Road“

Da Elton's Stimme leider viel zu hoch ist (bzw. war, nachdem er heutzutage die 2. Stimme darunter singt), um mit ihm zu singen, habe ich den Song auf normale Männerstimmen abgestimmt. Ich habe auch den Akkordwechsel nach dem Vers entfernt, um das Singen und Spielen zu vereinfachen. Jetzt sind nur noch die gebräuchlichsten Akkorde übrig (C, G, F, A, E, Am, Dm and Fm) und ich denke, es klingt immer noch nach diesem großartigen Musikstück, das Elton in seinen frühen Tagen komponiert hat.
Nun geht er zum letzten Mal auf Tour und seine große Abschiedskonzertreihe heißt… natürlich: „Goodbye Yellow Brick Road“

Really lovely expression in your performance, the flow in the guitar is wonderful, the use of panning in the sound as well from left to right adds a nice extra depth and stereo spread to the sound too. Your voice is characteristic as well, brings a unique element to this cover of Elton John's song.

Die Idee mit den Akkordeinblendungen ist hilfreich, wenn man live dazu spielen möchte. Das wäre ein echtes Gruppenerlebnis. Bei diesem Elton-John-Klassiker hab ich mir sowohl gesanglich als auch Duren-mäßig immer die Zähne ausgebissen (viel zu hoch und viel zu schwer); daher hab ich mich entschieden, einfach mal eine vereinfachte Version zu erstellen (wie beschrieben "EASY-TO-PLAY and SING") - ich hoffe, der Sir Elton kann mir das verzeihen ;-) Zu dem Thema "bayrische Mundart" in Deinem letzten Upload - das ist echt ein Phänomen - ich versteh's überhaupt nicht, denn auch ich liebe den bayrischen Dialekt wesentlich mehr als das doch oft sehr grantige Wienerisch, das Ambros, Fendrich, Danzer und Ludwig Hirsch so verwendet haben. Sehr gut hat mir auch immer der steirische Dialekt in den Liedern von STS zugesagt. Alles Liebe und ein schönes Wochenende, mein Münchner Freund! LG Hermann
