    The M3 has developed a shake in the front & I think it's from the F80 spacers which are for 14mm wheel studs and not 12mm wheel studs. I've done some searching and found these spacers from Future Classic. These are probably the most legit spacers I've seen and they're not that expensive!

    I have the PROJECT KICS LEGGDURA 53MM OPEN-END 2-PIECE LUGS for my ND Miata for my Advan RZ wheels. They are GREAT quality and build. Highly recommend them to all: well worth the coin.

    Cool video, thanks. No need to go all he-man with the rotor retaining bolts though. They only hold the rotor to the hub when the wheel is off. Excessive tightening will likely lead to life sucking when the head strips out during your next removal attempt...regardless of whether anti seize was used or not.

      Garrick Forkenbrock Been there, done that, on my old Acura. I think they made the bolt head out of the shittiest metal ever and they were a Phillips! They stripped in about 8 seconds and I had to use an EZ-out to drill them off. Butt-puckering!

    So the shaking was from the fact that F8X Spacers were used on an E9X M3. BWM switched the bolt/stud thread diameter from 12mm to 14mm. That means there is 2mm of play on the F80 spacers mounted to an E9X M3. So the bolt holes are too big, so there is play. #ItsMath

    How you learn things. I did the same on my 2019 M3 competition package. There great haven't had any problems. I did I lot of research before I purchase them as I'm an engineer.

    If you had some chrome pieces (emblem, trim, etc.) of which you could find no aftermarket blacked out version, what would you do to get rid of the chrome?

    All outlets I’ve searched don’t manufacture these for BMW e9x M models. I can only find they manufacture them for 2015 F80 models onwards etc. I’m assuming they only fit your e9x because you’ve upgraded your brakes? Some advice would much appreciated. Thanks.

    Some folks run 15mm and 12.5 mm f/r on E9X M3s.
    Wondering if the spacers should be different between an E92/E93 Coupe and an E90 Sedan?

      Thank you. The car has stock Competition Pack suspension (with EDC). Tyres also stock 265/245. I'm thinking 10mm rear / 12mm front spacers, as per your video. When getting a full wheel alignment done after fitting, would you suggest I simply stick with standard OEM wheel alignment/geometry?

      Obsessed Garage what size on the m5

  • @x-hooktowhook3904
    @x-hooktowhook3904 Před 5 lety +1

    To be honest, I believe screwing in spacer to the rotor/hub is redundant and unnecessary unsprung weight

    • @ObsessedGarage
      @ObsessedGarage  Před 5 lety +2

      I don't. Spacers can float around the lugs causing vibration.

    • @x-hooktowhook3904
      @x-hooktowhook3904 Před 5 lety

      Obsessed Garage how if they’re hubcentric and tightened in between the wheel and rotor at 100ft lbs??

    • @mperformance3502
      @mperformance3502 Před 5 lety

      Yea, once the wheels are torqued down the hubcentric spacers are locked in. If they are floating around that means your wheels are about to fall off lol. I do like these as they keep the spacers in place when removing wheels.

    • @x-hooktowhook3904
      @x-hooktowhook3904 Před 5 lety

      And wouldn’t the 2 screws you put in be out of balance since the weight isn’t distributed in a circle pattern around the hub???? I’m so lost on the engineering behind these

    • @x-hooktowhook3904
      @x-hooktowhook3904 Před 5 lety

      M Performance right, as long as they’re hubcentric they’re locked down ! You say you like that they stay on when you take the wheel off but I have hubcentric spacers without the screws and they stay on because of their tight fit on the hub. Again, I’m not seeing any benefit to these. I think Matt may have misdiagnosed the vibration
