Date and walnut loaf is a traditional bread eaten in Britain, made using dates and walnuts. It is often made with treacle or tea to give it a dark brown colour.
Traditionally from Scotland, date and walnut loaf is still enjoyed in many tea rooms around the country. It is also enjoyed in cafes, bakeries and tea rooms in Australia New Zealand and across the Commonwealth. Date bread was first recorded as a recipe in 1939, and now today is used to make holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving a little more festive. |

So I tried this recipe thrice and for the first and second time my cakes tasted sour bcoz of too much baking soda.. Then I tried it third time using 1tsp baking soda and 1/2 tsp baking powder and it comes out completely fine and tasty

Sir ji, I tried your recipe. Came out well 👍👍 you had mentioned that it's baked at 200°c for 40 mts. I do in Convection microwave oven.. so i set it at 200°c for 30mts and was monitoring. However, in 9mts, it was cooked and top uniformly browned. Why? Taste and texture was superb . Super easy 👌

Tried it. Modified the baking soda to be baking soda+baking powder as someone had suggested in comment section. It came out ok ok. Next time I would grind up the dates so that the taste is better infused

Is it one n half tablespoon or teaspoon for baking soda?pl also tell the quantity of butter,it seems you took more than 2tablespoons
It looked like more butter and more curd, I followed the recipe to a tee, it was not as moist looking as yours, in the oven atm, so will wait and see
I baked with this measurements and cake had to be thrown, it became bitter due to excessive baking soda. I blindly followed the measurements my bad

I use the prestige 32l OTG,I've used to make cakes with both the upper and lower heating elements on and they work fine....for this cake should I use only the lower heating element and plz suggest which rack

Sir normally we do not use chill milk for baking ,it is said all need to be at room temperature, just wanted to know is it ok to use chilled milk
