Jinpachi WAS unfair. mfer can spam his stunlock move thats like frame 2 and ignores block which he can chain combo into death with no warning and no way to fight back other than hope his A.I decides to stop using it. Azazel is awful, but at least his A.I leaves you with chances to fight and punish.
I remember the old days where people would gather around you when you reach nancy/Azazel at the arcade and when you defeat them you leave like a boss 😆
Azazel in ultra hard difficulty does crouch. He is able to avoid Devil Jin mid laser doing the crouch. To this day, with how huge he is, I still call that crouch bs. It's just funny to me, how weird it looks when he does it and the laser just doesn't connect lol.

No that was some kind of counter or parry. I don't think he could get a free attack afterwards. Devil Kazuya had something similar where he could absorb hits for a while, but he would still take damage unlike Azazel.

Azazel was the main source of the devil gene. Meaning no other people will become a devil like Jin or Kazuya since Jin killed the Main Source of the Devil Gene itself.

One funny thing you can do with Azazel is to do a bound on him, then use an unblockable attack. He'll stay grounded, but will still get hit since his hurtbox is very big.
That's true. In my experience, fighters such as Paul, Law, Bruce, Baek/Hwoarang, and Lars are handy for this reason. But yeah, no wonder Azazel has that wanky auto-block thing: he needs it, to make up for the fact, that he just EATS attacks. He suffers from every blow GREATLY. I've ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED him with Law, and Devil Jin.
Tbf Jinpachi's AI is more advanced and cheaper than Azazel, Azazel's kit is cheaper but the AI is predictable so I dont have trouble fighting him and his fun to fight, easy to launch with his slow ass animation and we can do inhuman combos with a launched Azazel.

I haven't played the console version of T6, but I've played the PSP Port a lot. There was this one attack, where Azazel spawned three crystal tridents that were coming out of the ground towards you. IIRC, this attack was a low and could be crouch-blocked or sidestepped. Thing is, when you tried to defend, Azazel would ALWAYS use the bat sworm attack, and it being a Mid, it would hit if you were crouching, or clip you when sidestepping. I guess this attack was implemented so you couldn't zone/cheese him with weapons or ranged attacks. Anyway, even after watching the video, I still don't quite understand how you should get around his armour. Only counter-hits and punishes, I presume :/
When you get addicted to Tekken 6, Azazel even in the hardest difficulty is the easiest boss in Tekken history. I'm not joking. All I have to do to is whiff punish. There is no hyper armor whenever he's in recovery frames. Also, unlockables can hit but only as a tech trap. As a Yoshi player, I would end a combo with B 2, 1 and then run up to Azazel and do an unlockable stab as he is getting up. This requires timing though. If you're too slow, Azazel will be able to teleport away and counter attack. I have beaten Azazel countless times even with characters I don't main. Jin for example... You can literally just use 1+2 as your whiff punisher the whole match. Oh! Also, with Jin... You can spike Azazel down on the ground with his 123 string as a combo ender and go for his ub 1+2 unblockable.
The only thing I love about Azazel is that you can do the craziest combos with his hitbox, a friend of mine used to do 6 ELECTRICS with Heihachi before bounding with D1. You can do combos that doesn't work in any other characters.
His voice actor in story mode was Richard Epcar- voice of Raiden from Mortal Kombat And also you could do multiple air lasers on him with devil jin after sidetep 2
So happy to see someone else give this character spotlight. He's hugely nerfed on Tekken 8 compared to his OP Tekken 6 version but his theme song is still epic and his character design is still ridiculously over the top. His hitbox is ridiculous. He's also one of the few characters in the entire Tekken universe with projectiles. Only recently Claudio added to that small number of list.
The Akuma Boss in T7 has that Auto Block Mechanic, right? Not build into moves but you can also only punish and counter hit him. Such an annoying boss too, took me a long time to beat.
Akuma basically does a parry that nullifies the blow so he gets no dmg, but thats only if he stays still and if you attack him too much when he does it he attacks you after
I went back to Tekken 6 and I can beat him pretty easily with some characters because I learned his strategy. But sometimes I get a bit too cocky and get unlucky with his armor. But he’s nowhere NEAR as stupid as jinpachi was. Azazel was made to test people’s patience and time thier counter attacks. Also Azazel doesn’t always avoid unblockables. I’ve tried some unblockables on him when tried to get close or his ai gets confused, and he gets hit and takes a lot of damage. One time I used Kazuya spinning uppercut unblockable when I downed Azazel he was a quarter life and it hit him while he was down! He died to it! His ai was programmed to not move if I did an unblockable while he was on the ground. So Azazel as a boss is unique, tests your patience (the waiting variety), and most his attacks are much more predictable. This goes to show he’s at least better than jinpachi in many ways

The best final bosses are the ones were you need to use all you have learned to beat them a test of yours skills. Azazel went beyond that shit he wasnt a test of your tekken 6 skills he was actually preparing you to the tekken 7 bullshit what a crack.
It's hardly an outfit but, you can't get more iconic than the Tekken 3 black flame pants and crimson gauntlets imo. Jin's hooded costume was a worthy and welcome successor though.

Tekken 6 Azazel might be even more cheap than Night terror from soul calibur 3 and i didn't think that was possible because in my teens i have horror ptsd of that.
i have 2k wins against Azezel easy mode with devil jin after staple combo press back 1+4 unblock able it clips him for massive damage (does not always work its like a 50/50 chance to hit) and for some reason he does not teleport like he does with devil jins lazer, also you can wiff punish Azazel and some of his moves are launch punishable so you don't need to rely on counter hit

I think Jin's story is kind of interesting, sure Tekken lore is trash, but causing war to draw out this inevitable monster only he can stop, idk I kinda like how unique it is. It also makes Jin more in the grey area than just the goody good hero.
But to be honest doing combos on this boss was funniest thing about him cause of his hurt box and yes he cannot do anything against dvj air laser or sidestep lighting screw uppercut

I forgot how beautiful the lightning in T6 was. The way Azazel crystallized glow affect Jin's clothing and EWHF at 8:53 further emphasized it, are a sight to behold. I genuinely think that T6 is probably the best graphical prowess in the series to date, that is until T8 release.

He’s not as hard as Jinpachi, by no means. You just have to be patient and time your attacks right. Or you need to try and get lucky with his armor. Also, azazel has doesn’t always avoid the unblockables. I’ve seen it myself. I used Kazuya spinning uppercut and he got hit
Tekken 6 Azazel might be even more cheap than Night terror from soul calibur 3 and i didn't think that was possible because in my teens i have horror ptsd of that.
i have 2k wins against Azezel easy mode with devil jin after staple combo press back 1+4 unblock able it clips him for massive damage (does not always work its like a 50/50 chance to hit) and for some reason he does not teleport like he does with devil jins lazer, also you can wiff punish Azazel and some of his moves are launch punishable so you don't need to rely on counter hit
I always beat with burning knuckle with Armor back in the arcades.
Also you couldnt get + frames on him as he doesnt have block stagger
Nancy was also pretty huge

I never did understand why I couldn't beat Azazel. It wasn't all the annoying projectiles. It was that stupid armour.

Kinda funny how in lore jin went thru all this effort to defeat azazel but by the time 7 came out it was all for nothing. Kinda shows how ridiculous and shit tekken 6s story is.

Yeah usually I just end up spamming magic 4 -> dash -> Magic 4 -> dash until it counter-hits and gets you a combo. Not fun but effective.

I think Jin's story is kind of interesting, sure Tekken lore is trash, but causing war to draw out this inevitable monster only he can stop, idk I kinda like how unique it is.
It also makes Jin more in the grey area than just the goody good hero.

But to be honest doing combos on this boss was funniest thing about him cause of his hurt box and yes he cannot do anything against dvj air laser or sidestep lighting screw uppercut

this boss music is so good
I forgot how beautiful the lightning in T6 was. The way Azazel crystallized glow affect Jin's clothing and EWHF at 8:53 further emphasized it, are a sight to behold.
I genuinely think that T6 is probably the best graphical prowess in the series to date, that is until T8 release.
I think XBOX 360 is outputted in 720p without AA and PS3 is outputted in 540p upscaled to 720p with AA
