Couldn't find a way to purchase this specific piece from the link and the links therein :(
Brass playing at its finest. To be a bit vulnerable I have been struggling, both professionally and personally, lately. I turn to this often to help calm me down, and remember that there are beautiful things in this world. Thank you Barclay Brass for using your talents and the fruits of your hard work in this way.
We've all been there. You've got this!
here here brother. i dont know your struggles but my wife cheating and telling me about one of 3 affairs on thanksgiving 2021 sent me into a spiral Im still swimming against. music and loved ones are tools to survive, and I hope you find peace as well.
Keep fighting forwards brass brother.
I appreciate an arrangement that is not so trumpet dominated. Wonderful balance between instruments!
used to play trumpet. I love when a trumpeter holds a high note and it's so pure and simple but you can see his face turning red with the effort. So human.
That ending is just ridiculous....it needs to be regulated and licensed.. am floored...this is why life exists
What would the world be without bach?
Dry xd
More messed up.
There is no one like Bach. Everything he composed always gives me goosebumps.
I had this played at my dear father’s funeral in 1985. I have missed him always and would lik this played at my own x
The hardest job for a musician. For the funeral of my grandmother I was asked to play one peace at the organ. After this I haven't played or sung it ever since then.
My daughter is a great French horn player, she's young only 26 would you like your name
I've probably listened to this over 300 times the past month or two... So well done... Again, thank you!
I can't stop listening to this arrangement. It's truly special, and the performance of it is magical! Thank you to the Barclay Brass, the videographers, sound technicians, and everyone responsible for making this available on CZcams.
Exactly what I feel! I don't get tired of listening! It is the deep religious and moving feeling that makes me levitate..
We're so glad you enjoy it! It's always a pleasure for us to play this music.
I'm going to start practicing this on my trumpet and going to play in church someday and make my family proud
Wow. Such beautiful passing back and forth of the melody. Amazing Flugel/Horn balance. And the smile on the female trumpet players face towards the coda during the pic upper range says it all!!! Bravo!!!
4:30
@@jaredsabatasso2531 Yes, and again at the end 5:04
The wonderful Amy McCabe.
That is, for me, the best interpretation of this glorious tune. I could listen to it for hours (which I just did).
Tears to my eyes, gentlemen, tears to my eyes.
Thank you so much!
That’s the power of music.
And if the music is from Bach...that happens more intensely.
@@billace90 Oh come on! It doesn't just "happen". It engulfs you from the inside :)
this is a really great rendition, the arrangement is so beautifully balanced.
Beautiful. Also the smile from the lady when the c trumpet starts to play and at the end...so much fun when playing! Thank you Barclay Brass👍
Sends shivers down my spine !
blending's off the charts. as if this were somehow a single brass organ playing
I must be coming on my 100th viewing of this video. If a young person wanted to study phrasing, especially across extended arcs and how to let a piece develop slowly to an absolute climax, this is the performance. I've never heard a better example of that than this vid.
Beautiful performance. I know the organ version of this piece, but this one is also wonderful. Greetings from Poland. I love Bach's music.
Brad Weil, Piccolo Trumpet: BEAST! (sounds great!)
just noticed the look off admiration that the trombonist gave u, and the chuckle of amazement from Amy, after the last note. well deserved.
Everytime I listen to this arrangement it puts into a state of peace. Thank you
oof your picc player cuts some glass yeah :) love it :)
Also the way the lady on the C next to him smiles when he opens up at 4:29 just makes the whole thing :)
I love trumpet dominant.
Magnificent!!!!
Amazing!!!!!
Divine!!!!!
Oh my!!!!
Absolutely Beautiful! Pure joy each time I listen. Thank you for sharing this.
I make it a habit to listen to at least one Barclay Brass upload each week, as I am fatally addicted to Bach on brass. All of David Miller's Bach transcriptions are great, but this one, in my opinion, is by far his best, and one of the best I've heard to date of this piece. The weaving in and out of the "voices" as the music builds in intensity produces what I think is a truly unique performance. As for that powerful ending chord, the flawless intonation and the octave spread (thanks to the piccolo trumpet sitting high above the tuba) produce an organ-like sound that cannot be explained, only appreciated. ☻
The octave spread and organ sound - you are so right! This is wonderful stuff.

the opening to this piece is phenomenal on an organ, when i heard it played with brass i was blown away. this is an incredible job! feels like something out of a movie. it's so moving!
Absolutely fantastic playing from everyone! Bravo!
P.S., that picc part at the end is absurd in all the right ways.
Smoothest trombone sound I ever heard. 👩🎤
I just listened to this again for the first time in about a year-and-a-half. BEAUTIFUL!! Just beautiful.
Heavenly! I wish I could play like that.
Such a fantastic group of musicians! I could listen to the Barclay Brass for hours.
just stumbled onto this about a week ago, and hot damn... this is so good.
wow!!! transports me to heaven
Just found this incredible video. What a treat! The tempo is much slower than typically played from an organ, but really gives the listener time to meditate on this timeless Bach masterpiece. This has really given me a whole new appreciation for how to play this from the organ. Thank you for the recording and for sharing it with the world.
Ein sehr schönes Arrangement. Wow, ich liebe Bach. Ihr seid echt klasse😍
Sehr schön gespielt! Vielen Dank für das Video
My 12-year-old daughter and I loved it! What a full, powerful sound, especially in the high registers as it grew in intensity toward the end.
A beautiful performance and wonderful arrangement. Thank you for sharing such wonderful music.
Superb.
Gorgeous arrangement. I told our brass group at my church that they should learn to play this!
Absolutely a magnificent execution of this beloved piece.
Trumpet Trumpet Piccolo all day! Absolutely beautiful!
In a rapidly changing world, I've noticed that those adjustable tripod music stands were the same make and model used in my school in the 1980s. If it works, don't change it.
I've listened to this a dozen times in the past two weeks and have sent the link to all the musicians I know. Just wonderful playing, worthy of the subject matter. Well done!
Beautiful
Piccolo trumpet is the best, phenomenal, great sound, very congratulations.
Hello Nicola. That's just plain silly ❣️. What would this piece of music, this arrangement be without the body of sound of the other voices⁉️. It would just be a few, admittedly high notes. In a quiz on a YMCA evening, the question could then be: which church piece of music is it?
@@kcr7860 And the answer is: prokof'ev the dance of the knights (of course I'm kidding).
Selmer piccolo trumpet is a very great instrument and a best sound.
This is so good!
I never get tired of listening to this, thanks for sharing!!
Wow
compliment ! very well arrangement and performance of this always extraordinary amazing master-piece of music ! --- you may - if possible - in your next recordings add, please, a little bit more reverberation. that would make it then even more beautiful (than it already is)
Ausgezeichnet !!! Vielen Dank aus Australien!!!
Beautiful! ❤
Absolutely beautiful! Thank you!
Glorious.
Superb!!

I keep coming back here, I just love this piece and this arrangement in particular. Very well done!
That was glorious. So much energy, even in the subdued parts, and then at 4:10 it just blossoms.
Glorious times one million!
Simply beautifully played
That last chord!! WOW!! wonderfully done!

Exquisite!
Excellent :) Bach is the best and this interpretation is quiet nice. Sounds good.
Still listening to this one. It always puts me in a good mood. The build takes a little while, but it's totally worth it.
Im currently learning this on organ...has definitely become one of my favourite pieces yet.
Very good!
