As hard and as embarrassing as it was for you, I must say this video is so refreshing! It’s nice to see someone be 100% real on here. These are real life struggles that we all deal with from time to time

Getting a cleaning lady once every two weeks has made me so happy. It is an act of self care. We can all of course do the cleaning ourselves but taking that off the list of things to get done has been a huge relief.

Cleaning ladies don’t get sidetracked coming into your home we at our own home tend to get sidetracked with other things the mail, checking the laundry taking the dog out etc and before you know it you wasted a boat load of time and your not done. They go through and deep clean and it’s done and you feel better.
*** 😂now I need to know how much your water bill is ****lol you will have to update us!!!!
      Hoping less then $50

Lisa we all like to spend. I just went to bath and body works candle day and spent over $100. But this is a treat for me and a tradition for me and my daughter to do every year. Don’t be embarrassed. I struggle with a spending problem. I appreciate your honesty. You also don’t need to explain your choices like cleaning ladies or anything else for that matter. I used to mow my lawn. Believe me that as soon as I could afford to hire someone I did. It was exhausting. It freed up time, energy and it was so wonderful to come home to a mowed lawn. I’ve also learned I’m more likely to blow my budget later when I’ve restrict myself too much.

Good morning, Lisa Marie. I'm also hitting the reset button on my budget/ spending. We really got off track this past summer with visiting family. I can't live with that type of monetary stress again. As I watched you, I broke down our bi-weekly check as to what needs to come out (no amounts yet). I also realized a couple of days ago that as a sole proprietor of a business, I don't get a Christmas bonus unless I allocate for that (seeing my husband's Christmas bonus was a punch to my own train.)
I have to set myself up more as a business this year and stop saying I'm going to. Here's to a great 2023!

I appreciate your honesty, and agree with other comments - it's refreshing to see 'real' struggles on YT vs perfection. My area of struggle is over-spending in the grocery stores - it's an addiction apparently, because I keep doing it when we're fully stocked in freezer/pantry. My NY resolution is to turn that around drastically.

Hi! I’m a long time follower, I just wanted to say I’m so proud of you for acknowledging your spending. Just know you’re not alone! It’s that time of year, it happenssss. I’m also going through the same thing esp the embarrassment l. But all we can do is stop it, learn from it, maybe up Christmas sinking fund for next year and move on. Don’t let it bother you or consume you, just move forward! Also, I’m so glad you actually decided to up your spending. You 100% deserve it and you should be able to do things you love. Does your job provide anything like mental health care or an employee assistance program? A counselor might be able to help you work through your spending problem a bit more.
If a paycheck-to-paycheck and yearly budget work better for you, you do you!
Edit: Also, we pay for folks to come in and deep clean our kitchen and bathroom about 2-3x per year. We're able to do it, but we work 40+ hours a week at jobs that are often stressful, on top of doing our day-to-day cleaning, pet care, budgeting, etc. So we feel like that $150 per cleaning is money well spent. Everybody's budget reflects their own values; some people spend money on things I don't care much about, but I don't judge them, because their life is not mine. đŸ€·â€â™€

Regarding spending on cleaning and lawn services - if you have discretionary income, no debt, then it's a matter of what brings most value to you, and also helps you maximize what personal time you have. You sounded a bit like someone in diet who has eaten a chocolate bar in at once at the beginning of your video !😁 Joking appart : bravo for your budget! It is definitely the good way to avoid overspending !👏😃 If I just may suggest in your budget the following : You are too generous in gifts for your family and your food budget seems a bit high. You also forgot a category for yourself ‘miscellaneous items’ that would allow you to have something to spend for you (without feeling guilty and staying reasonable). I really understand the cleaning lady because it totally makes sense. I’m not so sure about that lawn fee. It seems very expensive (but you must have a huge garden). Every one falls off the wagon. The most important thing is that you are ready to regroup! Budgeting is hard for me especially at this time of year.
Best wishes!! I can totally relate.

Thank you for being honest. ❀ It makes me feel better because I’ve noticed that I have this problem too.

I needed to hear this video. We were doing really well the beginning of the year and then had major health issues pop up. Hopefully we are on the path to recovery. But we have to get back on track to paying off debt.

Good for you for coming clean to yourself and starting fresh! Acknowledging what didn't work for you and making the change! We also had a water leak this fall. And it took a big chunk of money. Our normal water bill is $120/month and it was over $1100! 😳 Pick up and move on!

Financial freedom is a journey. Give yourself some grace and push forward. The reason I follow your channel is I need some inspiration at times to reign myself back in.

Girl, same! This year got away from me, I usually start gift planning in August and I ended up just overspending in November and getting a little too close to the sun with my debt extra payments. I cannot trust myself to go to the stores, SO I HAVE TO STOP

I LOVE your honesty. I feel like many budgeters don't fully disclose when they overspend. They may share they did but they don't share how they felt about it and what they did to solve the issue like you did.

Hey Lisa! I'm so glad you're back! I remember watching your videos from your basement apartment in Virgina a few years ago. Please don't apologize for keeping it real. This is real life, and 2022 has been a rough year for overspending. I don't know if you're interested but two of the biggest things that have helped me recover from my overspending were Hannah Louise Poston's No Buy Year Playlist, and r/nobuy. I love your videos & can't wait to cheer you again! :)

Not overspending here however your post has caused me to reevaluate my budget for 2023! Thank you. I actually put a line in my budget for "oops" in case I do overspend

No need to explain about the cleaning ladies! So happy that you are doing it for you.
We all stumble, multiple times! And it is hard, but you are setting a great example ands we should forgive ourselves when we mess up.
    Glad you are back 🎉

Hi LisađŸ€—! First of all, there is no need to apologize because it happens...life be lifin' lol. Second, cute nails 💅 😍. My little ears perked up when you talked about your Netflix account. I'm going to try for 2023 to pay the full year to free me up while putting money off to the side for my 2024. I hope this helps a little. You've got thisđŸ€—!

Heck I hate to say but I over spent too. I totally blew my Christmas budget. It's so easy to do when you want to make the holidays magical for others. It will be ok, and you will get back on track. Don't be embarrassed you are just like the rest of us, and it's ok
