Hey! This week I tested myself on the highest and longest run I’ve ever done! 🥵 Around 6 months ago I filmed a run with me and the run up Engineers Hill (197feet of elevation, 0.25mile long and 14% gradient) took me 04:30 🏃🏻♀️ Can I get up it quicker this time?! 😳
Watch my first attempt here! • Can I Run It?!🏃🏻♀️😳 |...
Thank you so much for watching! Let me know in the comments below how you tackle the hills? Or if you avoid them! 😆 Make sure to like this video if you enjoyed it and subscribe for more 😀

It’s crazy how much bigger that hill looks from the top! Way to go!
I think you should do a video with Matt where we get to hear his perspective on your running journey. What was it like having his wife start running? What ways did he find that were effective to encourage you and give you advice. How does he feel about getting to run with you now? Is he shocked at how far you have come or did he believe in you the whole time? Etc.
It is isn’t it 😅 Maybe one day I’ll get him to do a vlog like that with me but he’s just not as comfortable with the camera as I am. I would be curious to know what he would say as well 😆
Well done Lucy you're smashing the running!! It's all Hills where I live so I have no choice 😍😍
Thank you! 😃😃
Great job to you both! I was cheering out loud for you in my living room as you took off up the hill. Thanks for continuing to share your journey with us!
Thanks so much! 😀🙌🏼
Oh Hill Training is my absolute favorite for lower impact-getting-back -into-shape training. But i think the biggest hill would be a little to less fun for me - I take smaller, but much more steeper hills (think crossbike, bomb craters, that kind of stuff). I walk/run up the fastest i can, go down, without pause up again and so forth. Its fun to see how i progress in repetions and/or time! And its much easier to motivate for a small hill than for that big thing where u cant even see the top!You always see the top and you KNOW that you can recover on the way down!!! I am pretty lucky - I have a wood behind my house where the neighborhood guys made kind of an illegal crossbike situation out of old bomb craters and sometimes they modify it. I see it as my personal training area, because they always seem to sleep longer than me and therefore I usually have kilometers of terrain for myself . >LOVE it!!!
Way to go Lucy! New time on Engineer’s Hill! I have lots of favorite trees. One of my favorites is the Weeping Willow. A US Southern classic. And Matt should totally get you a horse. 😉🌳🐎
Thank you so much! 😀 Ooo I’m gonna have to look them up 😁
Great job!!!!
Thank you! 😀
Well done on running up that hill. Hills are evil but it's necessary
Thank you so much! 😁🙌🏼
Matt! I can hear your strategy-you were coming through loud and clear, so whatever you both came up with I can hear you both now! 💥
What a great partner in filming Matt was. 2:06 and 4:03!? Those are AMAZING times!! Now I want to know how I would do, lol! Hmm I know just the hill- very similar long hill with a steep last part. Think I'll have my marathon-training son time me. Woo-hoo! 😃
Matt, my oldest is wishing for facial hair like yours haha and your muscles so we're getting him set up with some home weights bc the gym can't be done on my end just now. Any at-home weight-lifting tips you can offer?
Take care of BOTH your ankles. 💛
We have trees like that (at least from far off) called Red Bud Trees but not sure there.
Thank you! Enjoy the hill! They are awful but very rewarding 😀🙌🏼 Have a look on YT for some personal trainers, there should be some videos recommending how to use the weights you buy for your home gym 😃
Nice job! Also just wait until you reach your forties. Then you’ll be all about bird watching. Lol.
Well done Lucy! You rock! 💪
Ah thank you!! 😀
You guys are so cute too watch together! Congrats to you both!
Thanks so much! 😄😁
I think doing strength work definitely helps with making your running form better. I do feel like my calves bother me a lot less and I barely have any shin splints
Yes I definitely agree 😀
Brilliant running up that hill.
Thank you so much! 😀🙌🏼
Excellent Miss Lucy!! Always a pleasure.
Thank you! 😀😀
You did amazing running up that hill. The tree you pointed to may be a kind of cherry tree, if it's covered with pink blossoms at this time. Or could be a crabapple or pink dogwood. Hard to tell without seeing it in detail up close.
It might be fun (ha ha) to train on hills regularly for the next six months, with the goal of bettering your time in six months. And I bet that would improve all your times.
Thank you! 😀 I should have filmed one a bit closer 😅 I need to find any positives for these horrible hills and an improved time will definitely do 😆🙌🏼
I knew all that hill work would pay off! 💪
I didn’t expect that result! 😅🥳
Great video!😁🏃🏻♀️ How do you breathe while running?
Thank you! Lots of practice 😆
I Hope thé ankle is right!
He was all good in the end thankfully! 😀
