I remember being at this game as an 8 year old. I grew up with season tickets to the Dbacks and went to almost every single home game for the first ten years. I took for granted how amazing the Dbacks early years were. All the amazing moments I saw and I thought they’d last forever. Here I am at 31 years old and we haven’t made a run in the playoffs since I was a damn kid… lol. Wouldn’t trade those memories for the world. I still have my jersey that I’d wear to games and get autographed hanging in my office.
It’s really cool to see so many guys I watched growing up that we haven’t seen in years, decades.
“Lee much more heralded” hahaha that’s an amazing antidote comparing Travis Lee to Todd Helton
Why the wide shot for the first pitch? Ridiculous choice by ESPN.
They clearly wanted to see camera flashes but I agree
Thanks man, you post really outstanding classic games, much appreciated 🙏👌👏✌️🍻✅
I just wish 2021 me could have tapped 1978 me on the shoulder when I brought home my first VCR ($800 as a graduation present to myself) and said, "Yeah, tapes are expensive, but in 43 years there will be this really cool technology you can use to digitize your tapes and upload them to the Internet."
"What's the Internet?!"
@@StephensBaseballArchives well your gift is our gift and again thanks buddy, I've been following baseball games since the late eighties and for me without a doubt, the 1991 world series were absolutely the best series I saw, there were some of the best games ever played and of course game 7 was the pinnacle and love the pre-post games you povide and yes the question is legit? what's the internet?✌️🙏⚾⚾⚾💎
My wife has been bugging me for years to get rid of the VHS tapes. I told her I would once a viable digital replacement came along. It finally did.
36:59 look how young Karim Garcia was for 1998 look like a kid.
Next April possible regular season home opener for the Sacramento A's,I'm thinking Yankees, Red Sox or De'Aaron Fox's hometown Astros & it better be on ESPN. I hope have Sutter Park gets sold out.
PBP: Jon Miller
Can you upload the first Rays game (3/31/98 vs Detroit)
I don't have it. I don't know why. Perhaps it wasn't telecast in the Southern California market. I do have the first Angels game at the Trop on April 24, 1998. That's about the closest I can get. czcams.com/video/XtRVVaEJ0Ts/video.html

I remember thinking Travis Lee would be better than Todd Helton.I was wrong.
Just like that year people thought Ryan Leaf would be better than Manning
Same lol
@@jamesjodon7038Ironically, Helton was the backup to Manning in college before pursuing baseball full time.
And it was pretty much all downhill from there
Except in 2001
Probably meant the Rockies
