He is SO adorable. He definitely acts like a human toddler lol. He does everything a toddler would do. He is like a child. A cute child who is so lucky to have a home and family that loves him. There is no doubt that he is happy. He is very happy. ☺

Dawson wrecks our house eats all our food and harasses all our other animals constantly. Its such a joy and blessing to have Dawson the raccoon in our lives.

How could you say this is a good outcome? The racoon will never be able to socialize with other racoons because of how this "wildlife rehabilitator" failed to do anything except make the racoon dependant on her so she could keep him as a pet.
@@CyberCheese392 Only one raccoon out of others became imprinted on. Lol you call that failure? Imprinting will be inevitable with at least some animals.
I seen 6 raccoons team up to push a trash can down in my backyard one night, I was so impressed I let them enjoy their meal.
SO CUTE!!!! He reminds me of my raccoon, a female, "Oscar," (named after one of the tree service men who found her in the tree), who I rescued as a newborn from a fallen 60 foot cottonwood tree, and I raised. She was terrified of the outdoors. (I am thinking that the tree falling experience, and the loud chain saws, made a lasting impression on her psyche.) I, therefore, kept her as a pet. She was SO smart, and SO funny, with the things, that she would do. For example, she was curious about how everything worked, and she tried to take things apart, to find out, undoing nuts and bolts. She knew that I did not want her to take things apart, so she would put one hand in her mouth, like she was an innocent child, sucking her thumb, while her other hand was behind her back unscrewing nuts and bolts, while taking something apart. She was always thinking! I loved her dearly, like a daughter.

Thank you so much everyone! He is my baby and is spoiled rotten. When I first realized he was imprinted and couldn’t be released I felt like such a failure. I have successfully, raised and released so many wildlife animals that it was a hard pill to swallow. But honestly, I wouldn’t change it for the world, he is an amazing little guy ❤️❤️

Dean and how many have you rehabilitated or raised?? I would never suggest a Raccoon as a pet and I never imagined I would have a permanent resident Raccoon in my house, but I do. Like with any dog or cat I would never leave him alone with a small child. There is more of a chance of my chihuahua biting someone that Dawson. There are many factors that determine how a Raccoon acts, I would be more than happy to discuss them with you. I agree with you, they are destructive (he has scratched my couch up like you wouldn’t believe) and CAN be very dangerous, but don’t assume you know anything about Dawson or how he is and has been raised without asking.

Unfortunately, there is one channel that discusses animal abuse and rescues but it doesn't show the actual outcome of the situation. So that channel always leaves me sad for the animal(s). 😔
So yes indeed, thanks to everyone who makes this channel! It always has stories that are uplifting and fun. I especially like the ones that have the "little but fierce" in the title. Those are so great and make you appreciate life and our furry friends even more! And they make you think, if these little babies can make it and go through so much than maybe we can too!❤🌹

My family has had 4 raccoons over the years and we loved all of them! They do imprint and there's nothing you can do to shake it except wait just a bit too long to get him fixed and then that part takes over. He ran away but always came back for food and hugs and grapes out the window but wouldn't come back in the house. Broke my heart but his babies and grand babies still choke to our house and know my mom is a sucker and will feed them the good stuff!!! He was bigger than most dogs! None of our other chins got nearly that big. They suck on your chin when they're hungry or tired. So fn cute!
He doesnt think he's human. He's a racoon and they will dominate EVERYTHING. Thats just how they roll. Cute and will adapt to living with you but dont plan on having anything nice. :)

sometimes raccoons are better than a dog... They are so intelligent and they always wash their hands they're very clean animals and I just love their cute little faces I have quite a few in my backyard and I feed them at night I have a large bag of cat food and they loved it and a big pan of water so they can wash their hands... I really think they're highly intelligent more than a dog... Almost like people except their behavior needs to be trained... Just like a kid getting into the cookies... Thank you for sharing this wonderful video just loved it

She saved him and rehabilitated him. Wasn't able to go back to the wild but she didn't do anything wrong. Dawson would be dead if she hadn't intervene

Update: He bit a neighbor's child and gave it rabies in 2018 and was put down. This was after he gave everyone pinkeye by going toilet-to-sink.
