The USA, also isn’t even in the top 10 for being overweight in fact 70 percent of Americans are not overweight while 30 percent are. It also depends on the state, for example Utah and Colorado only have 11 percent of overweight individuals in their states making them below the EU in obesity.

World geography test where you had to name every country on the world map and write down its capital city was something that high school students in my central european country customarily had on their freshmen year in the mid 2010s. Basic knoweldge of every region of the world&location of at least the most prominent countries was something we've been also usually taught. Most people know where the best known US states like CA, TX, FL or Alaska are, and when they might be not sure what's the exact location of the rest, they are able to at least point out the region (we're rather familiar with terms like New England, Bible Belt and so on). Megan VanDoren Where I'm from people are very vocal and opinonated too. I think Americans are a bit easier offended, especially when you say something personal. Wheras people from "western" europe (Sweden, Holland and especially the UK) are more sarcastic, "raw" and cynical (wich is not always a good thing).
      Light/easy comedy here is always called "American comedy" because people here have the stereotype that Americans don't understand or get complicated and sarcastic comedy. But it's just what you grew up with.
      An other thing is that "you americans" LOL always talk about "Europeans" like it's one country. There couldn't be more differences between Italy and Germany for instances despite being so close to eachother. It's like comparing people from Brazil and Japan, a lot of differences.

    Why are Americans so squeamish about organ meats? They ate it 50 years ago. I don't see how eating the organs is more gross than eating the muscle of the animal. Besides, if you kill an animal you should eat all if it, not just pick and choose which parts you want to eat. What a waste of food.

    • @pyro-te3ho
      @pyro-te3ho Před 9 lety +3

      mastersnet18 Eh I wish I could give you a good reason why we Americans are turning away from organ meat but I really can't. Well other than the fact that some of us just seem to be picky fools though their is still some of us who like such stuff.

      mastersnet18 i kinda agree, i rather admire the fact europeans and asians make use of a whole animal and have less wastage. I dont like organ meat (but i avoid meat in general). But i believe wasting meat makes killing an animal a pointless and cruel excercise. do it for food, just dont waste

      ***** Surströmming is known as a Swedish delicacy. I have myself never eaten or smelled an open can of it. Apparently you have to open the can of the fermented fish under water or the smell will be so bad you more or less will be sick to your stomach. It is often eaten in very small portion sizes at a time, and is served on knäckebröd (hard bread) with sliced fresh potatoes, sour cream and red onions to accompany it. If you can just get by the smell, many people state that it is quite delicious. (The smell is so potent though. One person once opened a can in his apartment and the whole building was evacuated because people thought there was a gas leak. He was evicted and had to pay for sanitation.)

      Lung (like eating lung) is banned in the USA, I think it's cause there's a chance of catching some rare diseases. Meats from the UK are also banned, since the whole mad cow disease thing. That's why the haggis they're eating is in that pastry puff, it's only technically haggis tbh.

    I'm from Europe and I don't know anyone from my friends that would actually just start tasting escargot, so that's great that they at least tried
    I think it's delicious especially the tiny ones made in Portugal

    I found this on the wikipedia page for lutfisk:
    *"If the lutfisk is not cooked right it gets a strange, transparent glow and a wobbly texture. The main reason why many don't like lutfisk is be that they have been served badly cooked fish, which therefore has a jelly-like consistency."*
    so you guys definitely did it wrong ...

    What the hell is bizzarre about escargots, black pudding and the other dishes? Do Americans really only eat burgers, hot dogs and fries as cliches tell us in Europe?
