I feel like Americans finding out they don't live in a democracy is a constant battle against their own goldfish memories. Because i remember people learning this shit every 2 years since I was born, and it being re-learned every 2 years later.
al gore won, but bushes cousing said in fox news that bush had won(and other news channels followed because they didnt want to be late to say who won) so he got to be president for that reason only.

Because of this I have now switched back to being an Independent voter in Florida. The Democratic party here sucks big time and should be hit with a dereliction of duty no doubt about it.

I worked as a field organizer for the Democratic party for 8 years. One of those cycles was with the Bernie Sanders campaign in Las Vegas. Hilary's camp had Bernie's outfunded by so far it was ridiculous!! Example, we had our little volunteer crew of about 20 people to start holding signs on the strip. We took up one corner by the time all was said and done....Hilary had a parade. The DNC had Hilary Tshirts on Many union workers and high schoolers and all kinds of groups....she even had a Mariachi band!!! Bernie was similarly squashed, Cenk....but they allowed him a bit more time to pretend he had a shot. This was 2016 and only 1 small example of how the money actually does talk in the campaign world....louder than citizen voices.
Too bad, come general election, she couldn't convince all those voters that she gave a sh!t about them, no matter how much money.
Bernie is Not a Democrat, he wants the clout and power of the backing of the Democratic Party without being one. No Independent will win the Presidential Democratic Nomination, this is not difficult to understand! Only a constitutional amendment can change the requirements for holding the office of President. That means getting two-thirds of the Congress to agree to seat a Constitutional Congress, two-thirds of the Constitutional Congress to agree on an amendment, 38 state legislatures to vote to ratify and 38 governors ratifying it.
This is a publicity stunt.

Based on what theory? Primaries are controlled by party policy, not state, federal or constitutional law. There are no rights to run or to appear on a primary ballot. It would be like trying to sue McDonalds for not having tacos on their menu.

He has a very firm legal case based on amendments and precedent. Having said that I don't think he is running with a real chance of winning, that isn't the point. The point is to force a real democracy and point out how flawed the system is.

Incorrect, if it was only that simple. The US doesn't so much have 2 parties, but 1 system, a very fixed, entrenched system. While certainly many are in for personal interest, their personal interests has also mingle with personal perception of what America stands for. They all think they are doing the 'right thing' to 'save' America and Democracy. Everything not their brand of money politics or capitalism is consider 'unAmerican'. And it's a mindset that has been build on for more then half-a-century, and build on even older beliefs. You are dealing with the infightings of a religion.
I am a Canadian who just started studying American politics. Our politics are so different. Our prime ministers do not have to be Canadian born. I cannot fathom anything different than this. Our first four prime ministers were not born in Canada. I am so glad we do not limit ourselves with this inane rule. I am a Florida Democratic voter and strong Marianne Williamson supporter. I have campaigned for her and donated nearly $500. And for what? It is now completely clear that the Democratic Party is beyond saving, which is why I will be voting for the Green Party candidate in the general election. It has been a long time coming, but this is the final nail in the coffin.

Unfortunately according to him the Democratic primaries are being canceled in those states. Which is weird because that didn't happen the last time because it had at least 20 candidates on the debate stage. So you would seem like the DNC is in charge of that since they're the ones hosting the primaries. So if they're the ones responsible for them and the primaries are being canceled in each state he mentioned both red and blue States that seems like they don't want any other challengers. So it's not just about cenk it's about democracy if you can't even challenge the current incumbent that seems like it goes against everything that you were talking about democracy being on the line. At that point he's not just thinking about himself being on the ballot he's also thinking about other people who want to run as well. So yes the DNC would shoulder that responsibility. Regarding if it is Biden's fault I doubt it but the DNC is the one in charge. I guess because he picked the head of it that would kind of mean that he's somewhat to blame but an honesty I don't think he even was thinking about that. How is canceling primaries for funsies and trying to silence opponents acceptable? like how are we ok with that? I don’t understand how everyone isn’t livid over this. If you compartmentalize what party you identify with and how you feel about the candidates, there’s some real shady stuff going on and I wish we could find a way to stop this crap. I swear these politicians just want us to bicker & fight amongst ourselves so we don’t unite on issues and potentially pressure them to do their jobs.

The 14th amendment which was written nearly 100 years after Article 2 "All citizens Born or Naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof “are citizens of the United States". There is no Citizen A (born here) who has superiority or more rights than Citizen B (naturalized). A citizen is a citizen and Cenk is now a citizen according to the 14th amendment. He is eligible to run.
